[Bug 345281] Re: package obm-storage 2.1.10-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
I believe it revolves around the 10.4 distro personally, as I am having a lot of trouble, and can't even upgrade. I have for over a year now (not joking, nor exaggerating) tried to fix four computers in total with this error. I have one left., two are in pieces and one I bashed to death in frustration. 10.4 has been a sad letdown since problems started, especially since I don't know how to fix them, and neither does anyone else. [Bug 1180713] Re: Default GTK+ theme is used
The bug still exists in scite 3.3.5-1 and I have figured out that the cause is directly the executable file. Replacing /usr/bin/SciTE (3.3.5-1) with version 3.0.2-3ubuntu1 solves the issue so it seems to not be caused by some external configurations. Jeff Lane, I've also noticed that one may not adjust things echo'ing to /sys/* as either a standard user, or via sudo, requiring sudo su, so this would not be limited to just setting the cpu frequency. Using sudo su is my expectation as this is what accomplishes these types of brute force changes. However, I would defer what the proper expectation is to the Ubuntu Kernel Team. [Bug 1265117] [NEW] nwipe missing footer text on drive selection screen
Public bug reported: When starting nwipe, there is no information regarding pressing F10 in order to start wiping devices. The help text appears to be there in gui.c (see https://github.com/abeverley/nwipe/blob/master/src/gui.c) and are available when I use "strings `which nwipe`", but they clearly do not display. See the screenshot - the white bar at the bottom should have text. When the console window is enlarged to 101 characters wide, it starts to show up. At 100 characters wide it still does not. The author suggested it was possibly a problem with Ubuntu's version, so I opened this ticket. See nwipe issue #1 - https://github.com/abeverley/nwipe/issues/1 Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a terminal that is < 101 characters wide 2. Run "sudo nwipe" I am using Ubuntu 13.10, nwipe 0.14-1 ** Affects: nwipe (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Reference screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265117/+attachment/3938051/+files/Screenshot%20from%202013-12-30%2022%3A04%3A34.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265117 Title: nwipe missing footer text on drive selection screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nwipe/+bug/1265117/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1229195] Re: Openconnect will not connect under Saucy -- openssl problem?
@Cory Basically there are two ways the ASA administrator can allow clients to select an authgroup (aka tunnel-group, aka Connection Profile): 1) Set up a group-alias for the tunnel-group, and turn on tunnel-group- list to show the dropdown menu: ciscoasa(config-webvpn)# show run webvpn webvpn enable outside anyconnect image disk0:/anyconnect-win-3.0.5080-k9.pkg 1 anyconnect enable tunnel-group-list enable ciscoasa(config-webvpn)# show run tunnel-group tunnel-group default type remote-access tunnel-group default webvpn-attributes proxy-auth sdi group-alias d enable When the dropdown menu appears on the auth form, openconnect will use the --authgroup parameter (if present) to match the group label "d" and fill it in automatically: < < d < The current (git.infradead.org) openconnect HEAD of tree still has some issues with authgroup selection when XML POST is enabled, but we're converging on a solution. This isn't relevant to your situation, however. 2) Set up a group-url, so clients who navigate directly to that URL do not see a dropdown at all: ciscoasa(config-webvpn)# show run tunnel-group tunnel-group default type remote-access tunnel-group default webvpn-attributes proxy-auth sdi group-url https://asa/hidden-d enable Since there is no dropdown menu ( node) in this case, specifying --authgroup doesn't actually do anything. You should be able to safely omit it. Note that the same tunnel-group (or different sets of tunnel-group's) can be selected through both methods, and the group-alias doesn't need to match the path in the group-url. I set up both types of groups locally, and verified that the issue shown in your log was fixed by this commit from the openconnect HEAD of tree: commit 06ac20e005b6caba0a58fca13346ad01ae0989c5 Author: Murilo Opsfelder Araujo Date: Thu Sep 12 14:53:54 2013 -0300 Append vpninfo->urlpath to Some ASA gateways may need the relative path specified in XML entry so it makes sense to verify if it exists and append it. Signed-off-by: Murilo Opsfelder Araujo Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse On v5.01, the node is missing the URL path: > POST /AUTHGROUP HTTP/1.1 > Host: HOSTNAME [...] https://HOSTNAME so in XML POST mode on v5.01 you are only able to use the groups that have a group-alias defined, not the group(s) which need to be accessed via group-url. This will be fixed in the next release. Hope that clears things up... [Bug 1258870] Re: rtl8188ee wireless driver unusable: 25-30% packet loss. 13.10 Saucy
I tried installing the latest proprietary driver and firmware, although I had to use Freedom Ben's modified version: https://github.com/FreedomBen/rtl8188ce-linux-driver since the code provided by Realtek doesn't even compile with any kernel after 2.9 :( Anyway, that didn't help. Continued to experience large amounts of packet loss, up to 80%. I eventually just bought a new card with good linux support for $24, and I'd suggest anyone trying to make this card work on linux just do the same. More details documented here: http://ilostmynotes.blogspot.com/2013/12/windows-8-and- ubuntu-1304-with.html As expected, the new card works perfectly: 0% loss using the same network, access point, sitting in the same position in the room etc. It's easy to blame bugs like these on RF signal problems, interference etc. but in this case the performance of the driver is just terrible. I dual boot windows and it seemed OK there, but I didn't use it extensively. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1258870 Title: rtl8188ee wireless driver unusable: 25-30% packet loss. 13.10 Saucy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-saucy/+bug/1258870/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1258313] Re: Kernel crashes with error in fs/buffer.c:1268
I had a crash with a stack trace that looks VERY similar, but this was on Arch Linux with kernel 3.12.6, with very different hardware. I am running firefox with the .mozilla folder in ecryptfs on an ext4 hard disk, and the crash happened while I was using firefox. Is that what you are doing as well? The strange thing is, I have been doing the same for months on a different computer with no issues (also with kernel 3.11). ** Attachment added: "Trace for very similar bug with kernel 3.12.6" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1258313/+attachment/3938039/+files/crash-ecryptfs-ext4-firefox.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1258313 Title: Kernel crashes with error in fs/buffer.c:1268 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1258313/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1034740] Re: 8086:4238 iwlwifi drops connection when using 802.11n
Alexander List, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, please just make a comment to this. If reproducible, could you also please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.13-rc6 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. [Bug 1262388] Re: 8086:08b1 [Toshiba Satellite P55-A5312] Intel 7260 Wifi regularly crashes
penalch, I've been trying this custom kernel for the past 2 days, and I've yet to notice any wifi disconnects or errors in the log. NOTE: This is with the original 10/21/2013 firmware, too. I'll monitor wifi stability over the next week or so -- and will report it if I find further issues -- but so far this customized kernel's done its job and been a success! [Bug 1226619] Re: E-book viewer has no icon in launcher or application switcher
How do you run the app? Does it have a menu/Dash Icon, or does it show up at all in the menu/Dash? We have been noticing some odd things in the desktop files of a lot of apps that are no longer maintained by Debian community, I am not sure if this is one, but there is work to try to figure out the best way to fix all the bugs related to this issue (and others like it). Apparently many desktop files do not point to an Icon, or do not have a proper icon installed, or point to a wrong icon. A collegue of mine is working on compiling a rather complete list, to be uploaded on the wiki. Hopefully we can get this taken care of. [Bug 1068642] Re: wrong size icon in menu
Hi, I know this is much later, but some of us on the Lubuntu dev mailing list are working on tracking down this issue. It seems that many programs using an xpm format for the icon have this issue. There isn't a clear fix for this yet, but if you want a work-around you can use imagemagick to convert the image. usually this icon is located in /usr/share/pixmaps So from a terminal convert -scale 22x22 Most of the packages affected are not maintained in Debian anymore. The proper fix would be to edit the rules file and desktop file in the source to make a png image the icon image with a relative name Desktop file snippets: Icon="ProgramName" instead of Icon="/usr/share/pixmaps/ProgramName.xpm" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068642 Title: wrong size icon in menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lxpanel/+bug/1068642/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
