If the locales character set already has the euro symbol then I see no reason not to directly edit the locale itself. If we need a new character set then that's a different issue and then we should be using @euro to transition from the old character set to the new one. I don't know if the the BALTIC charset in use by lv_LV has a euro symbol. If it doesn't then I recommend we create lv_LV@euro with an alternate charset that supports the euro symbol. Please note that this isn't a make-work project, but rather that there is some software that doesn't yet work with the euro symbol correctly, therefore we provide two locales during a transitional period to allow users to run certain applications using the old locale. [Bug 1259083] Re: GTK window layout problems with python
The bindings don't have influence on the GTK layout, it's most probably an incompatibility with the current GTK version and needs to be changed in the actual applications. [Bug 1172221] Re: JavaFX not working since 12.10
jenskapitza, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. [Bug 133133]
Since I am not a programmer, I cannot submit a patch. However, can't someone simply replace whatever is opening Nautilus with xdg-open? You don't even have to know how it works or where the files are. Just to be clear though, anything involving xdg uses XDG standards. If one is curious, or simply wants or needs to know the standard, check out multiple publications at freedesktop.org. I understand that Mozilla has abandoned Qt, but that does not mean that Linux distributions of Mozilla software should be Gnome specific. The point of the XDG standard is that anything following it should work for any desktop environment that follows it. Both Gnome and KDE follow those standards. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133133 Title: "Open containing folder" is only working if nautilus is present To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/133133/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1266195] Re: grub-installer fails to install when using btrfs
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1059827 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1059827 Ideally the installer should test for a properly sized MBR gap earlier on, so it can fail before going to the trouble of installing the OS, only to have grub-install inevitably fail. Windows 7 uses LBA 2048/1MB aligned first partition, and maybe even Vista did. XP does not, it starts the first partition at LBA 63. Older versions of parted do the same. Next, the use of the --force flag for grub-install on a whole block device seems ill advised. As far as I know, it's useful when directed to a partition formatted ext[234] so that the boot strap code and block list is placed in the VBR instead of the MBR gap. The --force flag will fail on XFS and Btrfs. In any case, the work around is to repartition with something even somewhat recent, so that partition 1 starts at LBA 2048. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1266195 Title: grub-installer fails to install when using btrfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1266195/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1165755] Re: X crashes when booting with 2 external displays
Ray-Ven, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. [Bug 1164876] Re: update xserver to fix broken XResetScreenSaver
Arne Henningsen, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . Thank you for your understanding.
