[Bug 1267913] Re: juju relation-list doesn't report full units list when unit is down
Problem reduced to the following: When first unit is up, and a relation is added, relation-list stops in the first failing unit, so it doesn't list the rest. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It looks like git's behaviour changed between 1:1.7.10.4-1ubuntu1 (Quantal) and 1:1.8.1.2-1 (Raring). If dnsdomainname returns empty, then git now fails, whereas before it proceeded with invalid committer/author email addresses. I think there are two things going on here. First is the change in upstream git; the second is that your system had a misconfigured (ie. empty) domain name. So I think this is a previous domain name misconfiguration on your system causing the problem, rather than a general requirement that you must now configure git with a name and email. Configuring git with a name and email merely overrides the default. It is the default that on your system has always been unobtainable but is now being treated as an error. Nevertheless, it would be nice if etckeeper didn't break in this case, as it is expected to function automatically and so prompting the user during an upgrade (as git does) is not helpful. I wonder how many other users do not have domain names defined. Could you please post /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts and explain how you installed your system originally, so that we can figure out how many other users this issue might affect? I tried the kernel patch from the mailing list, but that doesn't fix the problem. Nothign appears in the pserv log, nothing in maas.log. Using latest trusty bits I manually created a node in the MAAS UI. On
setting the node, MAAS successfully powered the node on via IPMI. The
node booted and got an IP address but then failed to PXE due to PXE
timeout errors. While all this is going on, each retry prompted a new
DHCP lease which seems to have triggered a DNS update. The celery
region log showed this each time DNS config was attempted:

[Bug 1268795] [NEW] unable to automatically commission Cisco UCS server due to BMC user permissions
Public bug reported: I have connected a Cisco UCS C220 M3 system to my MAAS server. I have tried and succeeded in enlisting the server both automatically by powering the server on manually, and via the UI by feeding maas the server CIMC information and have MAAS automatically power the server on via IPMI and enlist. BUT once I get to a declared system, I am unable to commission it via the UI. When the system is enlisted, MAAS appears to create a maas user in slot 10 of the CIMC user table. BUT rather than making this user a User or Admin, it is set to Read Only Because of this, the maas user in the CIMC does not have permission to power the server up or down and thus can't commission. If I manually power the server on, it then PXE bootes the commissioning image, does it's stuff and then shuts down. At this point, the server is indeed marked as Ready and can be used in the MAAS cluster. This is still an existing problem since a couple of years in my setup, so I'll try to move it a bit to get it solved: I wonder if there's any way on which this alignment could be off-by-one in the xrandr code for this specific case. Thanks Christopher for your advice. Yes the firmware of the Samsung EVO 840 was updated to the latest one (last firmware Dec.' 13) with the Samsung Magician software. I checked the update twice after a reboot. I have to add: the new replacement drive is an exact 1:1 copy of the SSD, and shows no problems at all. So I really think - and with above links - this is a hardware related problem between the Samsung EVO 840 and the hardware of the Thinkpad W510's Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset 6 port SATA AHCI Controller [8086:3b2f] (rev 06) or other components. Side effect is, that network components are also not working as they should, after the hard reset issued by the kernel.. Due to the fact, that this is (and will be) a much common drive for a lot of people, I think this is an important bug. Problem reduced to the following: When first unit is up, and a relation is added, relation-list stops in the first failing unit, so it doesn't list the rest. I'm seeing something similar to xian98. I have i2c_hid black listed as described, but mostly use a mouse. After multiple suspend / wake cycles the mouse stops working and I have to reboot. They're basically saying that the Postscript file seems to be incorrect (an object, the image object) is not part of the document or at the wrong position. From their point of view it seems to an error by the software creating the Postscript or during data transfer. They're recommending to print the job as a pre-rendered image. Alternatively, it is possible to reinstall the PPD (I' ve done that already). I'm not sure, if you can read German, but I will attach the mail. Note: I've anonymized the mail. Part of my original request to Kyocera was a link to this bug report, stating that all files e.g. the Postscript file is attached to this bug. But I cannot say, whether they actually took a look at these files. Christopher, I've already tried this earlier in the process (tried to bisect the kernel), but failed on it. Also I guess, bisecting is not really necessary, because we know the point in time when the error arose. On the other hand, in Trusty the problem is most possible solved. If this change is a good idea, then backporting it to 12.04 is fine by me. I'm still skeptical, though. A crash on logout could involve an app failing to save a document or settings as it exits. If so, that's something developers should discover and fix just as much as any other error.
