[Bug 1269046] [NEW] Nodes created manually and then enlisted are forgotten by MAAS
Public bug reported: On my MAAS box running trusty: In the MAAS UI, we created a node entry for a server, choosing IPMI and passing the login credentials, IP for the BMC and the MAC address. On saving the node, MAAS issued the IPMI command to turn the server on. The server successfully powered on and PXE booted the enlistment image. Once enlistment was complete, the server powered off. On refreshing the MAAS UI, however, the original node we created manually was shown still in the Commissioning state. A NEW node was also listed, showing it was in the Delcared state. What seems to have happened is that MAAS, instead of filling data for the node we created manually, just created a brand new node instead, and ignored ours. The original manual node can be safely deleted. POSSIBLE CAUSE: When we created the node originally in the UI, we passed it the MAC address for the BMC port. The newly created node, however, lists the MAC addresses for all onboard ethernet ports, NOT the management port. If the MAC address part of the Add Node page means MAC for the ethernet device that PXE boots, the page is misleading and needs to be corrected. As it stands, I thought that MAC entry was supposed to be for the BMC MAC address. [Bug 1263738] Re: login console 0 in user namespace container is not configured right
stderr actually is mapped to a pty. The problem seems to be that getty can't set /dev/console as its controlling terminal because it's already the controlling tty for init, which is in a different process group. Re: [Bug 1263738] Re: login console 0 in user namespace container is not configured right
Quoting Seth Forshee (seth.forshee...@canonical.com): stderr actually is mapped to a pty. Or else why would this only be a problem in the user namespace case? It is diffferent. Here's the controlling ttys without user namespaces: ubuntu@u1:~$ cat /proc/$$/stat | cut -d' ' -f7 34826 ubuntu@u1:~$ cat /proc/1/stat | cut -d' ' -f7 0 and with user namsepaces: ubuntu@c1:~$ cat /proc/$$/stat | cut -d' ' -f7 0 ubuntu@c1:~$ cat /proc/1/stat | cut -d' ' -f7 34826 init should have its controlling terminal cleared when it calls setsid(), so either it isn't calling setsid() or else setsid() is failing. The reasons setsid() would fail are that the process is already a session group leader or else a session with the same id already exists. [Bug 1265530] Re: Missing Reason-Phrase in HTTP response header for *standard* 3-digit status codes
I've uploaded apache2 2.4.7-1ubuntu1. As https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=54946#c14 suggests that this was fixed in upstream 2.4.7, I'm marking this as Fix Released. [Bug 1268120] Re: apt-build generates en error message in update-manager
According to comment #11 the source of the problem have changed. It's caused by a bad behavior from the installation process of apt-build. It is (correctly in my case) creating a amd-64 folder tree in the /var/cache. But it wrongly puts a i386-line in sources.list. Those to MUST be identical. ** Package changed: update-manager (Ubuntu) = apt-build (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268120 Title: apt-build generates en error message in update-manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-build/+bug/1268120/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1268120] Re: apt-build generates en error message in update-manager
I checked this at both versions, saucy precise. It might be correct, but maybe not. But to me it seems to be something wrong with the folder structure, or where in it the program are looking. Ind the sources-manager I can find the row file:/var/cache/apt- build/repository. (Is mentioned before.) I looked in the folder manually. ther i found this -ls output--- dists [folder] gthumb_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_amd64.deb gthumb-data_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_all.deb gthumb-dbg_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_amd64.deb gthumb-dev_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_amd64.deb Packages.gz Release -- But the error message was complaining about this folder /var/cache/apt- build/repository/dists/apt-build/main/binary-i386/Packages And that's correct! THAT folder doesn't exist. The real structyre goes like this at my amd-64 machine. (The folder structure seems to be looped, linked back to a parent folder.) /var/cache/apt-build/repository/dists/apt-build/main/binary-amd64/dists /apt-build/... In his new light I have to conclude that the error message itself is correct. The bug is that it is looking in the wrong folder. There is nothing there to find. The update programs is not to blame anymore. SOLUTIONS I can se some different solutions. But im not a developer so some of them might be useless, or create new problems elsewere. My suggests is: 1) Configure apt-build to always put the files in the same folder, and link to that one in sources.list. (Easy fix?) 2) Configure apt-build to always update sources.list with the right path. [Bug 871808] Re: Asus N55SF/N75SF - External subwoofer not working
(in reponse t o#76) Raymond, the subwoofer signal is not a different output-bus on this laptop, it's something built into the sound card. There's no need to 'jack detect'. I have this laptop and applied the fix mentioned above. Still, my mixer only shows a stereo output (and the subwoofer works). The hardware is connected via a proietary jack, not a 1/8 or RCA jack. What I believe the problem is, is that ALSA does not assign the right model according to the firmware ID on this laptop, or some other mumbo-jumbo that I am not familiar with. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/871808 Title: Asus N55SF/N75SF - External subwoofer not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/871808/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Possibly related to this, I am now unable to unload the thinkpad_acpi kernel module (required to run the fan in disengaged mode to work around the long-standing bug 751689) as it seems to be permanently hooked into the sound drivers: $ sudo modprobe -r thinkpad_acpi modprobe: FATAL: Module thinkpad_acpi is in use. $ sudo lsmod|grep thinkpad_acpi thinkpad_acpi 69003 1 nvram 14027 1 thinkpad_acpi snd60871 23 snd_hwdep,snd_timer,snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec_conexant,snd_pcm,snd_seq,snd_rawmidi,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel,thinkpad_acpi,snd_seq_device,snd_seq_midi $ sudo modprobe -r thinkpad_acpi snd_hwdep snd_timer snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_codec_conexant snd_pcm snd_seq snd_rawmidi snd_hda_codec snd_hda_intel thinkpad_acpi snd_seq_device snd_seq_midi modprobe: FATAL: Module thinkpad_acpi is in use. $ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: linux-image-3.13.0-2-generic 3.13.0-2.17 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-2.17-generic 3.13.0-rc7 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-2-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.13.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: james 3261 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: james 3261 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: james 3261 F...m pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Tue Jan 14 08:52:57 2014 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=67e3cd44-242b-4bbf-918b-28fff81e0312 InstallationDate: Installed on 2010-10-21 (1181 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) MachineType: LENOVO 2516CTO ProcFB: ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-2-generic root=UUID=7ad192e9-7b26-49d1-8e1c-fefc7dc495cb ro quiet splash RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.13.0-2-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.13.0-2-generic N/A linux-firmware1.121 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to trusty on 2013-11-01 (73 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 08/27/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 6IET72WW (1.32 ) dmi.board.name: 2516CTO dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr6IET72WW(1.32):bd08/27/2010:svnLENOVO:pn2516CTO:pvrThinkPadT410:rvnLENOVO:rn2516CTO:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 2516CTO dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T410 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268880 Title: unable to toggle microphone mute on T410 / unable to unload thinkpad_acpi module To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1268880/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
