[Bug 1155202] Re: [Intel DZ77SL-50K, Intel PantherPoint HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all

But I am not observing any problem related to working of sound card.
Obviously sound after sleep and hibernate is broken, but patch needs to
be modified for that. Can you explain any not so obvious problem due to
this fault?

[Bug 1236749] Re: Gnome shell extensions disabled at every startup

2014-01-25 Thread Gregor Giesen
I found the following odd behaviour: If I do the reboot after (!) logging out
(e.g. from the GDM menu), then my extensions will be still activated
afterwards. This is a somehow cumbersome workaround and sometimes I forget to
do this extra step.
It looks like a direct reboot does not do a clean shutdown of the GNOME session.

[Bug 1270423] Re: Image does not load if --memory parameter is specified

2014-01-25 Thread Dimitri John Ledkov
we believe that there is memory alignment issue with the currently
patched qemu instance to run ubuntu-touch emulator, and thus the current
default memory allocation is the largest possible to successfully boot.
someone who understand qemu/kernel memory maps need to look into the our
patched qemu such that we can run both with large kernel images (such as
ubuntu kernels) and high RAM allocation.

Adding the other two affected packages. all affected packages are in
sync with debian and are in universe component, thus there is no
additional maintenance burden. Removals from Debian, are also processed
and packages are removed from Ubuntu Archive as well.

[Bug 1267675] Re: [13.10] Alienware M14xR2 (CA0132) - External headphone/headset/microphone do not work when plugged in

2014-01-25 Thread Shannon VanWagner
Perhaps there is a fix mentioned by Michael Murphy (mstick) at this link
can make thinks work for Earl:
https://plus.google.com/114251447858061222694/posts/MnPLEVs486u

Basically it entails starting alsamixer from the command line, then
moving to the various external ports related controls and pushing the m
key to unmute the devices. Michael then mentions saving settings with
alsactl.

Earl, maybe you could give the above a test and see how it works? You
definitely have sound on the laptop, so we know the sound driver is
working.. It's just a matter of getting the external ports working and
it makes total sense that they would be muted..

I notice there are many a discussion to be found about "Creative Recon3D
+ Sound Blaster Z (CA0132) Linux Support" on the creative forums by
mmstick as well. Just search the Internet for CA0132 site:creative.com.
Solutions can be far..

Example: http://forums.creative.com/showthread.php?t=699748&page=12

[Bug 1128952]

2014-01-25 Thread Dtardon
FWIW, we do have regression tests for most of the libraries. They use
"raw" output format (which just prints the API calls and their
arguments) and flat ODF for comparison. And we run them before every
release. There is none for libmspub yet, because noone has invested the
time to create a representative set of documents. (Well, we need a
better set of documents for libcdr and libvisio too. With a clear
license, so we can actually make them public.)

Solution #12 didn't work for me at all.

I didn't understand #23. I didn't feel like deciphering the answer since
the following response claims it didn't work.

Similar to #31, I have another PC of different specs that never has this
problem.

Solution #28 for the win! Nice solution.
