[Bug 1280180] Re: [Trusty] gccgo-4.9 installation breaks the system

2014-02-14 Thread dino99
The libgcc1 downgrading command explained in the #2 above, let you use again
apt-get, and so continue the updating to get the latest fixed gcc packages.
After updating/upgrading, the newest libgcc1 4.9 is used again without trouble.
So that report can be marked as 'fixed' as it was an issue only for the
previous release made.

[Bug 1249067] Re: nvidia prime causes freeze at start up

2014-02-14 Thread Anthony Kamau
Let me add that although nvidia-prime maybe working for some, the above
statement should really have quantified it more to be specific to my use
case:

Dell Precision M6700 w/ Optimus Tech
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor
Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK104GLM [Quadro K3000M]
(rev ff)

This combination does not work with nvidia-prime.

Cheers,
ak.

[Bug 1280337] Re: Dependency on webbrowser-app seems ill-advised

2014-02-14 Thread Robert Bruce Park
Whoa now, I didn't say anything about bamf. You're right that
uninstalling webbrowser-app should not remove unity, but my
understanding is that webapps are completely dead without webbrowser-
app. So absolutely uninstalling webbrowser-app should pull out all
webapps...

I think the solution to this looks more along the lines of "make unity
stop depending on webapps" and less along the lines of "make webapps
stop depending on webbrowser-app".

[Bug 659793] Re: xserver-xephyr: Couldn't find keyboard driver evdev

2014-02-14 Thread Richard Hansen
Are the --enable-kdrive-mouse and --enable-kdrive-kbd arguments
necessary? They seem unrelated to the specific symptomps originally
reported, and according to they may have issues. From that bug
comment:

It seems like just adding --enable-kdrive-evdev would be sufficient and
safer, no?

[Bug 1254884] Re: Pulseaudio: incoherent muting of GStreamer channels (mutes master, headphone and speaker, but unmutes only master)

2014-02-14 Thread Raymond
it mainly depend on the number of volume controls and mute switches in
the hda codec

you have to post the output of alsa-info.sh

1) Two channels hda codec (e.g. ad1984, ...)
2) Four channels hda codecs which support 2+2 (e.g alc26x, ad1983,.. )
3) Six channels hda codecs (e.g. ad1986, alc66x,..).
4)Eight channels hda codecs(e.g vt1708s, )
5)10 channels hda codecs support 7.1+2 (e.g alc88x, ad1988, )

[Bug 1237296] Re: 168c:0036 [Acer Aspire E1-572] ath9k QCA9565/AR9565/QCWB335 Bluetooth works sporadic

2014-02-14 Thread Russell Faull
Joshua

Thank you for your efforts and persistence in finding a workaround for
this bug. I have recently bought an Acer V5-132 with Atheros AR9565
combined wireless/bluetooth adapter: wifi works, bluetooth fails to
detect devices.

I tried your kernel on fresh 64-bit install on a usb stick. Results:
mainline kernel fails to detect bluetooth devices, your kernel works
beautifully!

Trouble is, my installation on the V5's ssd -- which I have migrated
with all my applications and settings from several earlier
machines/Ubuntu versions -- is 32-bit.

Have you any suggestions how I could incorporating your dkms kernel
package into a 32-bit kernel? Is that possible? Should I bite the bullet
and rebuild in 64-bit and use your workaround kernel to enable
bluetooth?

Regards
Russell

[Bug 1168197] Re: 'USB Keyboard+Smartpad' not detected as touchpad in 'Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro 700t'

2014-02-14 Thread Mike Auty
I'm suffering the same problem but not under ubuntu, I have a XE700T1C-
A02US which is now running Gentoo. The device is detected as a USB HID
mouse during boot, and xinput sees it as USB Keyboard+SmartPad, so none
of the psmouse elantech tricks appear to work. No one elsewhere seems
to mention the same USB vid/pid combination with regards to linux. I'm
running the latest kernel (3.12.2 at the time of writing). Any tests I
could run or information I can provide, just let me know, I'm eager to
get this problem solved (primarily to turn off tapping).

[Bug 1280337] Re: Dependency on webbrowser-app seems ill-advised

2014-02-14 Thread Doug McMahon
Well if you're getting rid of bamf this cycle then you can ignore this bug,
otherwise you can't have your only available session depend on the installation
of an easily removed web browser application
I'm sure there is a better, safer way to achieve your purposes.

[Bug 1280511] [NEW] Please merge nginx 1.4.5-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2014-02-14 Thread Thomas Ward
Public bug reported:

Debian Unstable has nginx 1.4.5-1, which is the latest upstream stable
release. I would like 1.4.5-1 to be included in Trusty before feature
freeze. Not only is it the latest upstream stable release it fixes
other bugs in Debian.

Also, according to mdeslaur, when I asked in #ubuntu-hardened about whether
this would affect the security review for the MIR:
<mdeslaur> teward: probably, not no. In fact, having the latest version would
probably be preferred.

Debian changelog entries since 1.4.4-4 in Debian (this would also be
since 1.4.4-4ubuntu1):

nginx (1.4.5-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  [ Christos Trochalakis ]
  * New upstream release.
  * debian/modules/nginx-lua:
+ Update nginx-lua to v0.9.4
  * debian/nginx-naxsi-ui.preinst:
+ Fix exit status issue (Closes: #735152)
  * debian/control:
+ Fix arch:all to arch:any dependencies
+ Make nginx depend on specific flavor version
  * debian/nginx-*.postinst:
+ Make nginx start by default (Closes: #735551)
  * debian/nginx-*.prerm:
+ No need to check for invoke-rc.d,
correctly set the exit code on error
  * debian/nginx-common.nginx.init:
+ Rewrite some parts of the initscript
+ Introduce rotate command
+ Introduce upgrade command

[Bug 1279620] Re: stack corruption running "go install launchpad.net/juju-core/..."

2014-02-14 Thread Michael Hudson-Doyle
Another clue: I think it's signal handling related because (a) one of
the values that gets smashed onto the stack is 0x11, which is SIGCHLD,
and (b) if you use gdb to prevent SIGCHLD from being passed to the
process (handle SIGCHLD nopass) it works.

[Bug 1270491]

2014-02-14 Thread Tapani Pälli
I can reproduce this with origin/10.0, however it seems fixed in
origin/10.1 and master. It crashes because fb is 0x0, bisected that
following commit fixes this:

--- 8<
commit 70e8ec38b55e71144ce3ed055e7da30c330c716b
Author: Kristian Høgsberg
Date: Wed Feb 5 11:43:58 2014 -0800

glx: Pass NULL DRI drawables into the DRI driver for None GLX drawables
--- 8<

as a sidenote to developers, this is not related to the crash but there's
following errors happening now and then from cairo-dock:

Mesa: User error: GL_INVALID_OPERATION in glFramebufferTexture2DEXT

This happens because glFramebufferTexture2DEXT is called with texture 0
bound.

[Bug 1280505] [NEW] Librecad opens but the window doesnt pop up

2014-02-14 Thread Vansteenkiste Michael
Public bug reported:

I downloaded ubuntu 13.10 for my packard bell easynote laptop .

The installing worked OK from a bootable USB .

The problem is i downloaded some applications from the softwarecenter
and none of them

really opens up when i launch them .

I can see the icon glow and the little arrow appears left off them but
the window never pops up .

Even when i change tab it shows the program icon but when i select it
nothing happens .

Having this with librecad , freecad , sometimes the terminal , and other
stuff that i got from the softwarecenter .

for the terminal its just sometimes but like librecad or freecad i didnt
even had a chance to open the programs once ...

Would really like some help or good advice .

[Bug 1277888] Re: In most apps all menu items are gray / unclickable

2014-02-14 Thread pdknsk
This problem is indeed caused by installing GTK 3.10 (from 14.04 or
elsewhere).

libgtk-3-0 3.10.6-0ubuntu1~~saucy1 [origin: unknown]

This is the problematic package. Downgrade this package (and other
upgraded packages depending on it) to 13.10 packages and the problem is
fixed. I don't know if this is a problem with the package itself and
also occurs in 14.04 (unlikely) or if it's just the combination of 13.10
and some 14.04 packages.

[Bug 1210393] Re: MAAS ipmi fails on OCPv3 Roadrunner

2014-02-14 Thread Jason Hobbs
I've started work on a patch to fix this. It will find either an
existing maas user, or will find the first disabled user with an empty
username. If it can't find either it will bail and give up on automatic
IPMI config.
