Amend --Re: [Bug 1283639] Re: virtualbox-dkms 4.1.12-dfsg-2ubuntu0.2: virtualbox kernel module failed to build

2014-02-23 Thread David George
I hope this will reach bug triage.

My Bug Description included:

  ERROR OCCUR DURING security-only update ~2200hrs 22 Feb 2014

I was mistaken.

As you can see from the attached screen shot of Update Software Source
Window, I had not 'reset' selection of 'important security update
(precise security).

So that it was both' security update (precise security)' and
'Recommended updates (precise updates)'
that were executed by Update Manager.

It was a surprise to me when I went back to look today.
Sorry about the misleading info.
Than you
David George

Is this bug reproducible in the live-CDs of the following distributions?:
 - Debian
I tried debian-live-7.4-i386-standard , but it does not start the GUI, some

[Bug 1241327] Re: missing ia32-libs package on Saucy (13.10)

2014-02-23 Thread Buck Golemon
I don't understand why there isn't a ia32-libs:i386 which has the same behavior
as the old ia32-libs.
This would give us something that works.

As it stands I have to go hunt down a list of the libraries that used to
be installed by ia32-libs and manually install each.

[Bug 1283828] Re: Cannot find any provider supporting RSA/ECB/OAEPPadding error after upgrading to openjdk-6 6b27-1.12.6-1ubuntu0.12.04.4

2014-02-23 Thread Nathan Stratton Treadway
It looks like this is the JDK 6 version of the JDK 7 problem described in:
   http://bugs.java.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=8017173

That bug was apparently fixed in JDK 7 by this one-line commit:
   http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk7u/jdk7u-dev/jdk/rev/c5d869453212

In the JDK6 upstream, it seems this patch is the one that introduced the
OAEPPadding string :

http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk6/jdk6/jdk/diff/f3d02dd3dee5/src/share/classes/com/sun/org/apache/xml/internal/security/algorithms/JCEMapper.java
(part of S6741606 Integrate Apache Santuario), but I haven't found any sign
that the fix from S88017173 is being backported to the JDK6 codeline
upstream

[Bug 1241327] Re: missing ia32-libs package on Saucy (13.10)

2014-02-23 Thread Buck Golemon
Actually I believe this is what I've asked for:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/saucy/i386/ia32-libs-multiarch/20090808ubuntu36

but it doesn't show up in apt-cache search. When trying to download and isntall
the deb, I get dependency not satisfiable: libgphoto2-2, and indeed that
package has been deleted for saucy:i386:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/saucy/i386/libgphoto2-2

Should I file a bug against ia32-libs-multiarch?

[Bug 982434] Re: Opening the dash causes memory usage to climb dramatically, and never comes back down

2014-02-23 Thread Jeremie Tamburini
Same story in Ubuntu 14.04
(Unity 7.1.2, Compiz 0.9.11, Intel card, RAM 2G)

Opening the Dash will increase the memory usage of Compiz from 30 MiB to
90~100 MiB.

The system and the applications are working fine.
I didn't experienced any particular problem. just noticed compiz increasing
the ram usage in the System monitor.

[Bug 1283236] Re: Alarms are triggered in UTC tz despite saving in local tz

2014-02-23 Thread Nekhelesh Ramananthan
** Description changed:

- Mako build 200
- Phone is in eastern time zone (UTC - 5) at 2:55pm
- Set an alarm for 3:00 pm
- Indicator shows a pending alarm for 3:00 pm
- Check a minute or so later, indicator shows an alarm pending for 8:00pm
- The alarm does not go off at 3:00 pm.
+ Setting an alarm in the local timezone is not respected by the system
+ since the alarms is triggered in the equivalent UTC timezone.
+
+ Mako build 200, 205
+
+ Steps to reproduce:
+ 1. Ensure that phone timezone is something other than UTC. For instance
eastern tz (UTC-5)
+ 2. Set an alarm for 3:00 PM in the ubuntu clock app.
+ 3. Indicator shows a pending alarm for 3:00 PM
+ 4. Check a minute or so later, indicator shows an alarm pending for 8:00 PM
+
+ What happens:
+ The alarm does not go off at 3:00 PM. Instead it triggers at 8:00 PM
+
+ What should happen:
+ The alarm is triggered at 3:00 PM

[Bug 1180219] Re: Update to 2.68a

2014-02-23 Thread Ichthyostega
I faced the same problem when backporting to Debian/Stable (Wheezy).

It seems that you'll actually need a libAV* of the 9er series. For
Debian, these are in available through the backports repository. In my,
case, on Debian/Stable, I did the following upgrades

apt-get install libavcodec54=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1 libopus0=1.1-1~bpo70+1
libavutil52=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1
apt-get install libavcodec-extra-54=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1
apt-get install libswscale-dev=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1 libswscale2=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1
apt-get install libavutil-dev=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1 libavdevice-dev=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1
libavformat-dev=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1 libavcodec-dev=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1
libavdevice53=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1 libavformat54=6:9.10-1~bpo70+1

Obviously, the exact version numbers might vary, but you should try to get some
9.x versions known to work together for each of the libavcodecs
libavcodecs-extra libavformat, libavutil and libswscale

RE: [Bug 738811] Re: WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.38/kernel/power/suspend_test.c:53 suspend_test_finish+0x86/0x90()

2014-02-23 Thread joopbraak
Hi Christopher,

Independent of the Incomplete or Expired status, it is a duplicate,
that's why I corrected it again.

Have you looked at the error message and oops trace?

They are as identical as can be.

This is the first time I am criticized for lessening the amount of bugs
instead of creating more duplicates. :-)

Anyway, I'm just trying to clean up here, asking for more info on a bug
after 3 years is a bit strange, don't you think? I don't even have this
system anymore on which this bug appeared. Or if that's your way of
cleaning up, then let's make it a duplicate. Because else, if I would
really, after 3 years, provide the info that you're asking for, that
will just create more work for you. :-D

Can you give me a compelling reason why you think it's not a duplicate?

Regards, Joop

[Bug 1283859] [NEW] Updated recurring alarm values are not reflected in the indicator until phone reboot

2014-02-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Mako 205

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a recurring alarm and save it
2. Select the saved alarm to go to edit mode
3. Change the time or day of the alarm
4. Hit save

What happens:
The alarm is correctly updated in the clock app. The indicator however still
shows the old alarm time

What should happen:
The alarm is correctly updated *both* in the clock app and the indicator.

If you however reboot the phone, the indicator then shows the updated
recurring alarm time.

[Bug 1283212] [NEW] Unable to edit single type alarms and update them

2014-02-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Mako running build 200, 205

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a single-type alarm (which triggers only once)
2. Select the alarm to go into edit mode
3. Change the time of the alarm (or the day)
4. Hit save

What happens:
The alarm is not updated with the new time set by the user. The new alarm time
is also not shown in the indicator. The list shows the alarm with the original
time setting, and entering that alarm to edit shows it did not update.

What happens:
The alarm is updated with the new time and is also reflected in the indicator
date time.

This bug does not affect recurring alarms. Recurring can be edited and
the clock app shows the updated time. However the indicator does not
show the updated recurring alarm time. This is reported in bug #1283859

[Bug 1283863] [NEW] disabling touchpad is not persistent

2014-02-23 Thread Doug McMahon
Public bug reported:

Happens also with g-s-d
Test case:
On a laptop with a usb mouse connected disable touchpad in system settings
Mouse Touchpad
Keeping mouse always connected use as normal for a day or 2.
At some point touchpad will become re-enabled

Could be related to this -
with external mouse connected disable touchpad, it will stop working.
remove external mouse, touchpad is immediately re-enabled.
Possibly during the course of normal use, restarts ect. it is 'sensed' that the
mouse is not connected touchpad -enabled is mistakenly restored?

Let's add those to the list:

ibus-table-wubi
- pulls: ibus-table

ibus-cangjie
- pulls: libcangjie2 libcangjie2-data python3-pycangjie
- would need 1.5 MB

So, then we have:
 MB

Change in comment #7 31
+ ibus-table-wubi11.8

- ibus-chewing -1.4

[Bug 1283864] [NEW] nvidia-cuda-dev depends on nvidia drivers

2014-02-23 Thread Erik Faye-Lund
Public bug reported:

I'm working on a software project that uses CUDA to accelerate some
operations if the system has a compatible GPU. In order to support this,
we need nvidia-cuda-dev installed when building.

However, not all our build-machines have NVIDIA GPUs. Building without
an NVIDIA GPU works fine if I install CUDA manually (not using the
packaged version), but if I try to install nvidia-cuda-dev on my Intel
NUC, X11 seems to break.

My best guess would be that this is caused by nvidia-cuda-dev getting
installed due to dependencies.

This is on Ubuntu 13.10, nvidia-cuda-dev is v5.0.35-7ubuntu1.

2014-02-24 1:05 GMT+01:00 Doug McMahon 1281...@bugs.launchpad.net:
If not 0px then is there any way to be transparent?
Yes sure... If you want to try it you only have to edit the file
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-3.0/apps/unity.css to match your
preferences...

Also may be worthwhile to note the current existing borders seem to
cause some issue with compiz place plugin as noted in Bug 1281816

Yes, that's a known issue and I've already fixed it locally.

[Bug 1283871] [NEW] Default mount points not suitable for photo import

2014-02-23 Thread Alan Pope ㋛
Public bug reported:

When I plug my Ubuntu Phone into my desktop I want to be able to import
photos easily into my photo manager of choice (Shotwell in my case but
others are available apparently). The photos should be available via a
DCIM folder, but they're in Photos which Shotwell doesn't find.
While I could use the Import from folder and navigate my way to
Photos, I'd rather it Just Worked.

Could we export photos over the standard DCIM folder to make this
easier for everyone?

[Bug 1280842] Re: [enhancement] Need a method of hiding surfaces until they are ready to draw themselves

2014-02-23 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I'm a bit lost after the above comment. If there is a nesting-only bug I
think it would be useful to describe that more concisely in a new bug
report.

As for this enhancement request, it's still almost reasonable to just
implement (comment #2). But we shouldn't do so while there appears to be
bugs fuelling the motivation for the enhancement. Bugs should be fixed
independently of the enhancement request.

[Bug 1283850] Re: Spamassassin update broke Ubuntu GNOME daily builds

2014-02-23 Thread Adam Conrad
18:53 infinity Right, so that looks like a doko bug. g++ transitively pulls
that header in, via libstdc++-dev - libgcc-dev, but gcc doesn't pull in
libgcc-dev at all.
18:54 infinity Adding libgcc-4.8-dev or g++ to the dependencies works around
the issue.
18:57 infinity A bit more heavyweight, but I'd suggest a dep on g++ to just
pull in the lot. Of course, it should be a temporary hack until doko sorts out
his deps, so I suppose either works.
18:57 infinity (Or just ignore it and reassign the bug to gcc-4.8)
18:57 infinity It's a recent issue, saucy's gcc-4.8 depends on libgcc-4.8-dev

Taking my own advice, and reassigning the bug to gcc-4.8.

** Package changed: spamassassin (Ubuntu) = gcc-4.8 (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: gcc-4.8 (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) = Matthias Klose (doko)

[Bug 1214241] Re: Freezes in midgame

2014-02-23 Thread Paul Kilgo
I ran into a very similar behavior as well. There is an ongoing
discussion at ubuntuforums where I posted some info but I think it is
better suited here. Here is the thread:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2159402

So this is on Ubuntu 13.10 with znes package version 1.510+bz2-5ubuntu3.
Very similar behavior -- the application stops responding to input after
30 minutes or so and can only be SIGKILL'd. I ran strace on the hung
process and it appeared to be stuck in a futex-based deadlock:

futex(0x9851848, FUTEX_WAKE_PRIVATE, 1) = 0
futex(0x9851848, FUTEX_WAKE_PRIVATE, 1) = 0
futex(0x9851848, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 2, NULL) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
futex(0x9851848, FUTEX_WAKE_PRIVATE, 1) = 0
futex(0x9851848, FUTEX_WAKE_PRIVATE, 1) = 0
futex(0x9851848, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 2, NULL) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
...

2014-02-23 Thread Tim
It is happening on both i386 and amd64 builds

Looks like the libgcc-4.8-dev dep got dropped in the gcc 4.8.2-16ubuntu1
update.

[Bug 214366]

2014-02-23 Thread Neil-httl
(In reply to aceman from comment #125)
I knew octal literals are deprecated so somehow I extended that to hex too.
 Thanks.

The only reason old-style octal literals are deprecated is because it's
too easy to confuse them with decimal literals e.g. 160 - 060 != 100.
Hex literals and new-style octal literals (0o60) are fine, of course.
