[Bug 1278329] Re: [FFe] Qt 5.2

2014-02-26 Thread Steve Langasek
>From a release standpoint, the hurdles put in place of this upload via
the CI process exceed anything the release team would normally require
for such an FFe. And considering the Ubuntu phone image is currently
the predominant consumer of Qt5, there's no reason to be concerned that
the CI testing won't adequately cover us. FFe granted.

should be the same cause.

Just for your information, that my laptop resumes from suspend without
any problem in Fedora 20, but can not resume from suspend in Ubuntu
13.10.

I also tested with edgers 10.2 packages, like k3mist, and it is still
working perfectly. I too rebooted and checked multiple times that
everything is good.

I found other bugs with the current 10.1 packages in trusty, but they're
not related to this issue.

[Bug 1180646]

2014-02-26 Thread Matthieu Baerts
Great news!

Did you launch the dock with this command?

  $ cairo-dock -o

Because with the latest version, when launching the dock and if it detects that
you're using an Intel HD Graphics 4000, OpenGL backend will not be used except
if you force it with the previous command.
If you no longer have this bug, I'll be happy to remove this workaround! :-)

[Bug 1282701] Re: Camera freezes after taking photo on Nexus 4

2014-02-26 Thread Victor Thompson
I can confirm the bug on the 14.04 r209 image. It seems to freeze more
readily when music is playing in the background (via the music-app).
This might be caused by some conflict between the music-app playing
sound and the shutter sound of the camera trying to utilize the bus.

I downloaded the current Ubuntu Desktop trusty beta-1 amd64 image, and

[Bug 1285506] [NEW] merkatoor ignores LC_MESSAGES

2014-02-26 Thread Rolf Leggewie
Public bug reported:

Merkaartor incorreclty handles locales in precise.

$ locale
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_PAPER="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

I start merkaartor with above environment and thus the menu should be in
C but actually it's in German. The program does not respect
LC_MESSAGES.

Tests and verifications in other releases would be appreciated.

[Bug 1285505] [NEW] [ppa 2.0~git-20140225] SIGABRT with -virtfs

2014-02-26 Thread Martin Pitt
Public bug reported:

As requested on u-devel@, I tested QEMU
2.0~git-20140225.aa0d1f4-0ubuntu2 from ppa:ubuntu-virt/candidate. This
has a regression with virtfs.

I created a simple cloud-image based VM with autopkgtest:

  $ sudo apt-get install autopkgtest
  $ adt-buildvm-ubuntu-cloud

This part works fine with the new QEMU (it already boots the cloud-image
in qemu and runs cloud-init). But running it with a shared 9p directory
crashes:

  $ mkdir -p /tmp/shared
  $ qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm -m 1024 -nographic -virtfs
local,id=autopkgtest,path=/tmp/shared,security_model=none,mount_tag=myshare
-snapshot adt-trusty-amd64-cloud.img

 assertion failed: (type != NULL)

It should be easy enough to reproduce and the assertion message already
should be clear, but this is the intersting part of the (unretraced)

Re: [Bug 1285446] [NEW] orca does not have an entry under System Settings

2014-02-26 Thread Luke Yelavich
This is an issue you will encounter upstream with a pure GNOME
environment as well, so I suggest you file a bug in GNOME bugzilla. Long
term I believe there are plans to move Orca's settings into the GNOME
preferences, but its not there yet.

[Bug 1278329] Re: [FFe] Qt 5.2

2014-02-26 Thread Timo Jyrinki
This week is seeing great progress, and the ETA would be now set to
March 6th, if the FFe is accepted.

The following remaining issues have been fixed or about to be fixed:

- qtvideo-node has been fixed, a manual upload to PPA done while merge is
pending
- qtmultimedia-opensource-src-touch has a fix too and a manual upload to the
PPA - about to be tested
- newly found build problems fixed in eg. telephony-service, qtorganizer5-eds
- regarding mkspecs move, maliit-framework and pyqt5 will pose no problem (at
least they can be fixed after Qt has been uploaded, if not updated before for
'just do a rebuild' functionality)
- the Ubuntu plugin for Qt Creator 3.0.1 is ready and published in the PPA for
desktop users
- QA team has started testing 5.2.1, and we have also automated autopilot test
results (not currently in proper Dashboard style, but visible from Jenkins logs)

The following issues remain:
- various smaller items starting to pop up at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/+bugs?field.tag=qt5.2 like wrong character
rendering in certain cases
- a filtered view of the above link http://is.gd/pNalUg - fix all critical and
high bugs or demote to be lower importance
- some small build problems may still pop up that are triggered by 5.2.1
- fix remaining autopilot errors as much as possible

The balance will be made between accepting some regressions in case it
seems overall there's nothing that can't be fixed.

[Bug 1284856] Re: Places Status Indicator Disabled

2014-02-26 Thread amjjawad
Hi,

Thank you for reporting and making Ubuntu even better :)

I see " InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-02-13 (12 days ago)" which
means you're not testing the latest build. Kindly install the 'latest'
build and check. What does matter and what we need to know is how the
latest image behave with the installation. The installation test for any
ISO is very important.

So, please install the latest image and let us know how it goes :)

Thank you!

[Bug 1285363] Re: qemu-aarch64-static segfaults

2014-02-26 Thread Serge Hallyn
I'm a little nervous about the do_sigprocmask in linux-user/signal.c for
all arches.  With the comment

/* Force set state of SIGSEGV, may be best for some apps, maybe not so good
++ * This is not required for qemu to work

Doing this conditionally for arm64 would be more comforting...

I'll go ahead and run some tests with it tomorrow on amd64.

[Bug 1285150] Re: pyqt5 does not build against Qt 5.2.1, mkspecs directory moved

2014-02-26 Thread Timo Jyrinki
It's of course fine. I've been just trying to prepare as many packages
as possible so that there's nothing manual needed when Qt 5.2 is
uploaded - only rebuilds.

[Bug 1285494] [NEW] ubiquity "Try Ubuntu" screen has extra padding under Adwaita

2014-02-26 Thread Tim
Public bug reported:

The Ubiquity "Try Ubuntu" Welcome screen seems to have some extra
padding under Adwaita (Ubuntu GNOME)

On an 800x600 screen (which is default when booting many VM's), the
content only just fits in the screen. While no information is actually
lost, its looks like there might be more below the bottom of screen. See
attached screenshot

[Bug 1285488] [NEW] error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/gnome-session_3.11.4-0ubuntu1~trusty1_all.deb (--unpack)

2014-02-26 Thread Elias Ps
Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 LTS 64bit with the following PPAs included in the
Software Sources:
1) gnome3
2) gnome3-staging
2) gnome3-next
I get the following error when executing 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade':

Preparing to unpack .../gnome-session_3.11.4-0ubuntu1~trusty1_all.deb ...
Unpacking gnome-session (3.11.4-0ubuntu1~trusty1) over (3.9.90-0ubuntu8) ...

(--unpack):

package ubuntu-session 3.9.90-0ubuntu8
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/gnome-session_3.11.4-0ubuntu1~trusty1_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

My installations is two days old.
I've never seen the '(Broken pipe)' reference before, so I assume this is a
packaging issue.

I don't know what information to provide, so I kindly ask for your
understanding and guidance if more information is needed.
Attached to the report are the outputs of:
1) cat /etc/apt/sources.list
2) ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d
3) uname -a

And here is the full output of 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade':

===

Using 'apt-get install -f' and 'dpkg --configure -a' doesn't make any
differnce.

Thank you in advance.
