Public bug reported: What happens: First time Pixel is suspended everything works fine. The second time the Pixel resumes from standby it reboots. This was documented in previous releases but a workaround was found by manually loading tpm_tis force=1 interrupts=0. In Ubuntu 14.04 loading the tpm_tis force=1 interrupts=0 module via /etc/modules has no effect. Manually loading the tpm_tis force=1 interrupts=0 via modprobe has no effect. [Bug 1306877] [NEW] sshd stops accepting new connections after configuration reload
Public bug reported: When upstart is enabled, sshd stops accepting new connections after reloading configuration by "initctl reload ssh". It looks like sshd is frozen with SIGSTOP after receiving SIGHUP. [nya@sora ~]% ps auxww | grep sshd root 10557 0.0 0.1 61364 3056 ?Ss 13:46 0:00 /usr/sbin/sshd -D [nya@sora ~]% sudo strace -p 10557 Process 10557 attached select(7, [3 4], NULL, NULL, NULL^CProcess 10557 detached [nya@sora ~]% sudo reload ssh [nya@sora ~]% sudo strace -p 10557 Process 10557 attached --- stopped by SIGSTOP --- I guess it's caused by a Debian-specific patch: debian/patches/sigstop.patch. The patch makes sshd STOP when it's ready to start and have upstart resume it by specifying "expect stop" in /etc/init/ssh.conf. On receiving SIGHUP sshd re-executes itself and STOPs again, but upstart does not perform resume. [Bug 1306203] Re: There is no way to start a new call while on an existing call
I tested multiple calls in image 291, to verify it doesn't work before landing this branch. Much to my surprise, it worked. Dialer -> call someone. Left-edge swipe -> contacts -> select contact -> call. Suddenly two calls are active. I didn't actually think it would work though, and tried to cancel the second call... and, again to my surprise, the 'hang up' button doesn't seem to work in that situation. I had to hang up using the first phone I called, wait for the Ubuntu phone to notice, and then I could make the second call end. I think I'll wait to continue testing until I can get a third phone in the same room, which should be in a few hours. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1306203 Title: There is no way to start a new call while on an existing call To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dialer-app/+bug/1306203/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1227034] Re: Default Chinese font changed to fonts-arphic-ukai after completing language support installation for zh-* locales
Hi Gunnar, Thanks for the good work. The zh_CN locale now works as expected. However, I wish I could say the same thing for the en_US locale. I am attaching a screenshot showing that many Chinese characters were missing (represented by rectangles) when running the Chromium browser. I would like to note several other observations: 1. The missing Chinese characters were properly shown in Firefox. I.e., No problem in Firefox, big problem in Chromium. 2. In Chromium, I cannot find Droid Sans Fallback fonts in the (Setting --> Select default fonts). 3. I am also encountering missing Chinese character problems in using Fcitx (Chinese input engine). This may render Ubuntu 14.04 unusable for (at least) English locale users who have a need to input Chinese characters. 4. In zh_CN.UTF-8 locale, the command ' fc-match "sans" ' returns DroidSansFallbackFull.ttf: "Droid Sans" "Regular" 4. In en_US.UTF-8 locale, the same command ' fc-match "sans" ' returns DejaVuSans.ttf: "DejaVu Sans" "Book" language-selector fix ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2014-04-11 15:47:53.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntukylin/+bug/1227034/+attachment/4081656/+files/Screenshot%20from%202014-04-11%2015%3A47%3A53.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1227034 Title: Default Chinese font changed to fonts-arphic-ukai after completing language support installation for zh-* locales To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntukylin/+bug/1227034/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1306848] [NEW] Modem (Huawei EC 1260-2) cannot establish connection but it detected on nm-applet
Public bug reported: I have used this modem (huawei EC 1260-2) since ubuntu 12.04 untill 13.10 and it runs fine. But with ubuntu 14.04. nm-applet detects my modem but cannot establish the connection. My configuration was correct. Below I will explain further information, the correlation between nm- applet and mobile partner (huawei gui) The chronology: 1. Plug the modem and then network-manager (nm) detects my modem. (I have set up the configuration and rebooted before) I'm trying to establish the connection. 2. The nm-applet shows it's trying to establish the connection, but the modem LED is still blinking slowly like it hasn't established the connection. (Blinking faster are indicating that the modem is trying to establishes the connection) 3. After that I install Mobile Partner (which I used on my Ubuntu 12.04 and 13.10) and the installations were successful, reboot my PC as usual. 4. Then I'm trying to plug in the modem again and network-manager applet detects my modem, Mobile Partner displays its window. 5. Then a dialog from Mobile Partner suddenly automatically appears that says: "the device has been disconnected or unavailable", no signal was detected and the 'connect' button is grayed out. 6. But the network-manager still shows the detection of my modem. OK, trying to connect through network-manager, but like before it fails. The correlations are: 1. Mobile Partner says my modem is disconnected, but network manager still detects my modem, but cannot establish the connection. In my previous version of Ubuntu, when I unplugged my modem, Mobile Partner said: the device has been disconnected or unavailable and the network-manager did not detect my modem. 2. [Bug 1306846] [NEW] Inkscape (using cairo) fails to print thin lines to PDF
Public bug reported: Since 1.12.3, cairo cannot render fine lines to pdf. 1.12.2 was the last version that worked. http://cgit.freedesktop.org/cair/diff/?id=bdf83008f4b2c723fd8e65e2a92bc47a2e7bc442 introduced code to avoid lines that would be invisible when rasterized. While this is a valid logic for raster backends, it is a bad idea for PDF output. There we want to see all fine lines. My specific use case is generating a lasercutter drawing for an Epilog Zing laser with inkscape. There the hardware would raster anything thicker than 0.02mm, and cut 0.01mm or below. 1.12.3 skips lines below 0.036mm, 1.13.1 skips lines below 0.018mm -- which is still not enough to safely drive my lasercutter. Previously reported against inkscape: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1174909 Also reported agains cairo upstream with a suggested fix: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77298 Check out the attached reproducer and fix.
