[Bug 1267580] Re: [gestures] swipe is too sensitive, makes long-press difficult
I guess other option would be to create our own UbunuFlickable that inherits Flickable (or uses it as a root element) and where we would have a Mouse area inside Flickable detecting mouse movements and changing flickable interactive property accordingly. Though this should be doable it also sounds just so much more hackish solution that I would try first increasing the startDragDistance value. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1267580 Title: [gestures] swipe is too sensitive, makes long-press difficult To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1267580/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I agree this is one of the most annoying issues with our OS. This same over sensitivity is present in Launcher as well when trying to long press to organize items or to open the quicklist menu. [Bug 1335738] [NEW] autostarts under gnome3, conflicts with gnome-shell
Public bug reported: To reproduce: 1) Install Gnome 3 (e.g. as part of Ubuntu GNOME, package 'ubuntu-gnome-desktop') 2) Install some other desktop environment where light-locker is useful (e.g. xfce or lxde). 3) Install light-locker Expected: light-locker should only be autolaunched when the selected DE needs a generic screen locker (e.g. xfce or lxde). Gnome 3 has its own screen locker that's integrated with gnome-shell, so light-locker generally should not be run under Gnome 3. Actual: 1) light-locker is autolaunched when Gnome 3 is started. 2) I have my system configured to lock the screen when going to sleep. [Bug 1335736] [NEW] Gstreamer1.0-libva crashes and heats my laptop
Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 14.04 with kernel 3.13.0-30-generic x86_64. The version of gstreamer1.0-libav:amd64 is 1.2.4-1~ubuntu1. I did not install gstreamer1.0-libav:i386. Before this problem emerges I was trying to recover a broken gnome desktop, during which process, I first reinstalled all packages related to display and then downgraded them by editing /etc/apt/preferences ( Pin: release a=trusty* ). The old problem about gnome desktop was then solved. However, now I get new problems with gstreamer1.0-libav:amd64. Every time I boot into Ubuntu, from the result of dmesg, I will always be able to find that libgstlibav.so crashed because of segfault. It is right after this error message appears that my laptop will start to heat, even if I do not launch any application. The temperature of my laptop is now 20 centigrade degrees higher than normal. And I have tried to uninstall the gstreamer1.0-libav package, which does solve the heat problem. However, the 'apt' package system thinks that gnome desktop depends on gstreamer1.0-libav, although actually everything worked well without the package. Thus I have to manually create fake packages to have gnome not depend on it. Zoltan Palagyi, as per http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/vostro-5470/drivers an update to your BIOS is available (A09). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. [Bug 1335594] Re: [To Be Filled By O.E.M. To Be Filled By O.E.M.] suspend/resume failure
Barry Drake, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-3.16-rc2 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: latest-bios-p1.60 ** Summary changed: - [To Be Filled By O.E.M. [Bug 1335678] Re: KDE freezes when clicking start menu
** Description changed: Normally, when I press the KDE start menu using the mouse cursor, I expect the launcher menu to pop up. However, sometimes all the graphics freeze. I am able to move the mouse cursor, but nothing responds to left or right click input from the mouse. Only a restart of the Xorg server (ctrl-alt-backspace) recovers the situation, after which I am able to continue using the computer. - The occurances of this freeze are not very regular. Sometimes it happens 3-4 times a week, sometimes it does not happen for a month. I'm currently using kubuntu 14.04, but I have seen this happen on earlier kubuntu releases. It is not reliably reproducible as far as I can see. However, it always occurs when I want to open the start menu. + The occurrences of this freeze are not very regular. [Bug 1335725] Re: dolphin cannot find a file
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. [Bug 1335725] [NEW] dolphin cannot find a file
