[Bug 1336146] [NEW] Cannot receive MMS from some devices
Public bug reported: I tested receiving a simple MMS (a picture + a short text) that were sent from three different phones. Reception was successful only in one of the three cases. Attached are nuntium logs + nuntium store, contains these three attempts: 1. From a Jolla device (Sailfish OS 1.0.7.16). The message is not visible in the UI, although I can't spot any error in the nuntium logs (timestamp 07:49). 2. From a Nexus 4 device (Android 4.2.2). The message is successfully shown (timestamp 07:53). 3. From a Nokia C6-01 device (Symbian OS 111.030.0609). There is an "Unable to decode m-retrieve.conf: Unhandled length" error in the nuntium logs (timestamp 08:13). In all cases, the same SIM card was used in the sending device. [Bug 1239578] Re: No wireless support for Realtek RTL8192EE [10ec:818b]
Hi Larry, Here's something weird about the driver in 3.16-rc3 (and the same for 3.16-rc2). I often see the following lines from dmesg: [ 156.53] cfg80211: Calling CRDA for country: 1B [ 181.518110] AP off, try to reconnect now [ 181.518142] wlan0: Connection to AP xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx lost [ 181.574190] cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain [ 181.576554] cfg80211: World regulatory domain updated: [ 181.576557] cfg80211: DFS Master region: unset The country code is the number "1" followed by the letter "B". This always happens with the 3.16-rc3 kernel (from Ubuntu kernel PPA), but it never shows up in the kernel from #66 (I've tested a few times). Even after I run "sudo iw reg set US" on the 3.16-rc3 kernel, I may see the following: [ 181.576581] cfg80211: Calling CRDA for country: US [ 181.578828] cfg80211: Regulatory domain changed to country: US [ 181.578831] cfg80211: DFS Master region: unset That is, a strange message says that the DFS Master region is unset. This message never appears with the #66 kernel. Not sure whether this error is related to the new r8192ee driver or other parts of the 3.16-rc3 kernel. I don't think this error is fatal, but I'm pointing it out in case it uncovers an unknown bug. BTW the new driver is very good, apart from the initial connection issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239578 Title: No wireless support for Realtek RTL8192EE [10ec:818b] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1239578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1336129] Re: Update RAS packages to support PowerNV RAS features
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1336129/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 998380] Re: X Window System error
I've just encountered this error message - BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) - in my own application. I can shed some light on what it might mean. In my case, I had a Gtk3 TreeView with some text cell renderers inside, showing some text. In the case where the text was a very long string with no spaces ( and I had the cell renderer set to NOT allow text wrapping ), this caused my code which automatically set the column's size to request a very big width. This in turn made the parent GtkWindow to be particularly large. I believe that this would have been OK if I was using a traditional non-composited environment, but I was using Enlightenment-0.19 with OpenGL compositing. Now ( we're getting there ... honest ) there is a limitation for Intel graphics chipsets that a pixmap bound to an OpenGL surface ( or something - I'm getting out out of my comfort area with OpenGL ) can only be quite small - a little bigger than the maximium screen size, from memory. So if the GtkWindow requests a size outside this hardware limit ... you'll get: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) This doesn't necessarily mean that this is what is happening in all cases where this error message is encountered. But it's worth someone looking into the possibility that something is triggering similar behaviour - expanding the window's size beyond a hardware limit of the graphics card - possibly because of very long text that isn't allowed to wrap. Hopefully this helps someone. It certainly made me freak out when I encountered it in my own app. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998380 Title: X Window System error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/system-config-lvm/+bug/998380/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
