[Bug 1308378] Re: Name resolving not working after 12.04 LTS -> 14.04 LTS if /etc/resolv.conf was absent
Hey hamish. The addition in this bug fix only triggers when upgrading resolvconf from the 12.04 LTS version (1.63), so it doesn't get used in your case. Maybe your problem is simply because resolvconf gets upgraded in the first place in a stable release, and your live cd creation/upgrade process doesn't like that? For what it's worth, I always create a new live cd based off normal Ubuntu release for point releases, see https://code.launchpad.net/~timo- jyrinki/ubuntu-fi-remix/main - and I only temporarily, manually, edit /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf during the preparation nowadays. I don't know if that helps, but maybe the idea of doing your resolv.conf changes inside /run/ would help you too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308378 Title: Name resolving not working after 12.04 LTS -> 14.04 LTS if /etc/resolv.conf was absent To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/1308378/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1338401/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. Yes, still confirmed as an error. I am running Kubuntu 14.04 32-bit as a Guest OS in Virtual Box 4.3.x on a Windows 7 64-bit Host. I installed Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers -- Version: Luna Release (4.4.0) -- Build id: 20140612-0600. I added (in order) Code Recommenders (all) -- then WindowBuilder (all) -- Dynamic Lang Toolkit (all). I restarted after each completed successfully. Then I tried to add PHP Development Tools (PDT) -- and the install failed with something like: "The artifact file for osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.php.formatter.ui,3.3.0.201406110111 was not found." Once I added the Eclipse plug-in development environment -- PDE -- I restarted and then installed PHP Development Tools (PDT) and it worked as expected. [Bug 995016] Re: Smalltalk browser does not launch
This seems to be a mismatch between the versions of the GTK+ libraries that the binary was compiled for and the ones in use in current versions of Ubuntu. I was able to build GST 3.2.5 from source using the the build-dep and have a functioning gstbrowser install uner 14.04 just now. The version from the repos is not functional and requires a rebuild. [Bug 1241589] Re: ubuntu 13.10 unable to boot on live usb (busy box - initramfs)
Re #68, I had the same issue. My HDD and SSD are /dev/sda and /dev/sdb, so the USB drive would show up as /dev/sdc. However, when I ran blkid from the initramfs prompt, all I saw were sda* and sdb* partitions (and I know those were my internal drives based on the partition schemes). I was able to boot properly via the following steps: 1. Adding the live-media boot option as described in #55 (for me 'live-media=/dev/sdc1') 2. Removing the 'quiet splash' (so I could see what was going on easier) 3. Booting and waiting for the boot output to pause for a bit (something about unable to find USB at address...) 4. Removing the live USB and re-inserting it. The system then recognized a new USB drive at /dev/sdc and proceeded to boot normally. I know that's a very strange procedure, but it allowed me to boot and install properly, without doing anything drastic such as removing or zeroing my drives. For reference, I have a Lenovo Y580 with a SATA HDD and an mSATA SSD. In BIOS I had SATA in AHCI mode and was using UEFI (no compatibility/legacy modes). My USB was plugged into a USB 2.0 port. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241589 Title: ubuntu 13.10 unable to boot on live usb (busy box - initramfs) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1241589/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
