[Bug 1023734] Re: [GA-78LMT-S2P, Realtek ALC887-VD, Green Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all
No... So, on my desktop which was new at the time, I could not get any speaker or headphone to produce sound through the built-in audio hardware, whether I used the front jack or back jack, plugged in a variety of speakers and headphones, etc. Pulseaudio could detect the hardware it seems, but I was not able to produce sound. At the suggestion of a friend who has used Linux for much longer than me, I eventually worked around the problem by buying a $10 USB audio adaptor, which works, and promptly forgot to continue digging into this issue. :P It would be nice if I could find a real solution, though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023734 Title: [GA-78LMT-S2P, Realtek ALC887-VD, Green Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1023734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1360998] [NEW] [Nvidia Quadro FX 3500] lockups - Ubuntu 14.04
Public bug reported: Hi, I am having a similar issue to the bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1310762 ; Lockups that can sometimes be resolved by hitting Alt+F1 and going to the console, then hitting Alt+F7 to go back to the gui. Sometimes the screen should've been updated to the logon screen after the screensaver kicks in and I move the mouse, but instead I occasionally see garbage, then have to hit Alt+F1, and Alt+F7, and it will bring me to a black screen with a mouse cursor that if I type my password in will bring me to the desktop (although sometimes that doesn't work). It apparently should be displaying the logon screen, but my actual screen never gets updated. [Bug 1360991] [NEW] Setting wallpaper in thunar resets stretch style
Public bug reported: I have my xfdesktop configured to display my wallpapers with "zoomed" style, cropping off any overflow when the image is aspect stretched to fit my screen, instead of distorting the aspect ratio of the wallpaper by forcing it to fit on all dimensions like "stretched" does. Any time I set a wallpaper using Thunar's Set as Wallpaper context item, the stretch style is forced back to "stretched". "zoomed" is a much more intuitive default, but honestly, it should not be touching that setting at all! To repro: 1. Set a wallpaper from the settings dialog, change style to "zoomed". 2. Use thunar to set another wallpaper. 3. Reopen settings dialog; see that it has been changed back to "stretched". Serhiy Zahoriya, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/X502CA/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your BIOS is available (209). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Once the BIOS is updated, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. [Bug 1360941] Re: archivos corruptos
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD). You can verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you downloaded by following the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM. You might also retry your installation with new media. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your installation media please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!
