[Bug 1312944] Re: Compiz crashes without reason when open the dash
I have the same problem. When I boot up my Ubuntu systems and open the Dash and scroll through my applications sometimes the Dash will hang and eventually crash. As a result a messages pops up with Ubuntu having a internal error and can see that Compiz has crashed. I'm really disappointed that Ubuntu still uses this buggy piece of shit which is called Compiz. I'm planning to install a different DE or Linux distribution if this is not being fixed at all. Also I don't think it's hardware related since I have this issue on multiple systems with different hardware installed, exactly the same issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312944 Title: Compiz crashes without reason when open the dash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1312944/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1337200] Re: High CPU due to excessive device changed signals from upower
On a device/in a situation which reproduces this, can you please run udevadm monitor -e I expect that there is a high frequency of uevents related to the battery from the kernel's battery driver. These get relayed through udev and upower to U-S-S. In particular we need to see if there are any properties which actually change, i. e. whether the battery goes crazy or the bat driver has a bug to fire a ginormous amount of uevents (which keeps significant parts of the system busy). It's of course possible that there are no uevents but upower manages to get stuck in some kind of loop. But that's less probable as it never happened on other systems. The recent "dmesg" output would also be interesting, in case that the driver reports some error there. Thanks! ** Changed in: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1337200 Title: High CPU due to excessive device changed signals from upower To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1337200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1369952] Re: LightDM crashed when selecting "Try Ubuntu" on Ubuntu MATE
After some poking about I have discovered that LightDM no longer crashes if I change `/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/90-ubuntu-mate.conf` from: [SeatDefaults] autologin-user=ubuntu autologin-user-timeout=0 user-session=mate ...to: [SeatDefaults] user-session=mate That said, the original configuration was working prior to August 28th 2014 and continues to work in Ubuntu Trusty 14.04. I hope this additional information is useful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1369952 Title: LightDM crashed when selecting "Try Ubuntu" on Ubuntu MATE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1369952/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1370018] [NEW] igb driver does not initialize network cards - no link intel I210 rev03
Public bug reported: Hi, our new server installed with ubuntu 14.04.1 lts updated to the latest upstream kernel (Ubuntu 3.13.0-35.62-generic 3.13.11.6), is equipped with two Intel Corporation I210 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03) nics. The correct network driver is loaded, but the link to the network switch is not always (most of the times) established. Randomly one, two, all or none of the nics will have a network link established (means lights on the nic are dark). This happens with cold or soft boots. Attached you will find an apport-report from our system. We have compiled the latest intel igb-driver downloaded from the intel website (igb-5.2.9.4) and installed it manually in the system. # cp igb.ko /lib/modules/3.13.0-35-generic/kernel/drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igb/igb.ko # update-initramfs -c -k all !! Using the latest intel driver the problem seems to be solved !! [Bug 1370014] [NEW] Remmina Launching Remote Sessions Larger than Workspace
Public bug reported: Please view this video of the bug I'm reporting: http://youtu.be/wKGLff7HhS8 Essentially, when using the Unity desktop in a Multiple Monitor setup (using workspaces), Remmina is launching remote sessions into a window larger than the workspace to which I'm launching it. Another thing to note about my set up, is that I do use Ubuntu's scaling feature to make things about 10% larger than the default size (to accommodate my otherwise straining eyes). Some times I use large text too. These facts may be totally unrelated to the bug, but I thought I would at least mention them. [Bug 1369952] Re: LightDM crashed when selecting "Try Ubuntu" on Ubuntu MATE
** Description changed: I am the maintainer of Ubuntu MATE Remix, we are currently working towards being an official Ubuntu flavour. Since early September LightDM crashes when the option to "Try Ubuntu" is selected from the Welcome screen. LightDM was working fine upto the 28th August, if I track the timeline it appears to have started crashing since lightdm (1.11.8-0ubuntu1). It is also worth noting that I include the following configurating in the live session `/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/90-ubuntu-mate.conf` which has the following content. [SeatDefaults] autologin-user=ubuntu autologin-user-timeout=0 user-session=mate You can download the current pre-release .iso images of Ubuntu MATE that - exhibit this issue from https://ubuntu-mate.org/pre-release/ + exhibit this issue from https://ubuntu-mate.org/1369952/ ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: lightdm 1.11.9-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-14.20-generic 3.16.2 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-14-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.344 Date: Tue Sep 16 09:11:18 2014 ExecutablePath: /usr/sbin/lightdm LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu MATE 14.10 "Utopic Unicorn" - pre-beta2.25818 amd64 (20140915) ProcCmdline: lightdm ProcEnviron: TERM=linux PATH=(custom, no user) Signal: 6 SourcePackage: lightdm UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1369952 Title: LightDM crashed when selecting "Try Ubuntu" on Ubuntu MATE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1369952/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1369958] Re: indicator-keyboard crashes in Ubuntu MATE live installer
** Description changed: I am the maintainer of Ubuntu MATE Remix, we are currently working towards being an official Ubuntu flavour. While trying to resolve an issue with lightdm crashing (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1369952) I noticed .xsession-errors was complaining indicators were not available in the live installer. I have recently added the following indicators to the live installer: - * indicator-application - * indicator-datetime - * indicator-keyboard - * indicator-power - * indicator-session + * indicator-application + * indicator-datetime + * indicator-keyboard + * indicator-power + * indicator-session The others appear to be working correctly but I just found crash dump in /var/crash for indicator-keyboard. [Bug 1369856] Re: bbswitch-dkms 0.7-2ubuntu1: bbswitch kernel module failed to build
Could not reproduce with Kubuntu 14.04.1 32-bit (Live CD without and with updated kernel packages). Ensure that you have linux-headers- generic installed and do not use non-standard compilers in the default path. ** Changed in: bbswitch (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1369856 Title: bbswitch-dkms 0.7-2ubuntu1: bbswitch kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bbswitch/+bug/1369856/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
