[Bug 1388924] Re: ofonod does not recover if rild re-starts
** Description changed: - The rild daemon re-starts after being killed with SIGKILL, but ofono - does not recover from that. + If the rild daemon is re-started due to a crash, ofonod doesn't recover + correctly and thus leaves the system in an inconsistent state where most + telephony functions are broken. + + This bug is related to the fix for bug #1388030 which was reported for a + crash on krillin which involved a socket disconnect. As the fix for the + bug worked around the issue by adding a timed delay, we decided to check + to see whether a rild restart ( which also causes the socket to + disconnect ) would cause similar problems. + + This was tested by intentionally killing rild on krillin with a SIGKILL. To reproduce: $ phablet-shell $ sudo su # kill -9 `pgrep rild` # cd /usr/share/ofono/scripts # dial-number /ril_0 The call to dial-number fails although the VoiceCallManager exists, which proves that ofonod does not recover properly. This happens for $ system-image-cli -i current build number: 139 device name: krillin channel: ubuntu-touch/ubuntu-rtm/14.09-proposed last update: 2014-10-31 08:58:51 version version: 139 version ubuntu: 20141031 version device: 20141028-3ca60be version custom: 1414598646 It might be the case also for mako. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388924 Title: ofonod does not recover if rild re-starts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono/+bug/1388924/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But like with all other laptops I could test on after booting the computer's touchpad has tapping and two-finger-scroll enabled. After the first resume you can click only using the physical key even if the touchpad works fine otherwise. Turning off and re-enabling the scrolling functionality in gnome- control-panel doesn't make scrolling work again. [Bug 1386466] Re: alt-backtick switcher does not iterate through all windows
Try this. Create 3 html pages. % echo "0101" > 01.html % echo "02$1" > 02.html % echo "0303" > 03.html Open them into separate windows in the order 1, 2, 3. Go to the Firefox icon in the Launcher and left-click on it, which gives you the same sort of view of all the windows. Navigate to window 1. Do this again, navigating to window 2. And again, navigating to window 3. >From this point on whenever you go to the launcher, the window at the top left will be the one you accessed longest ago. So, if you hit the Launcher icon at this point and always click on the first, top window, you will see: 01, 02, 03, 01, 02, 03, 01, 02, 03, etc, forever. If you are looking at 5 windows, you will get: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, ..., forever. In other words, you will be navigating through all the windows in an orderly manner. Then go to window 1. Hit alt-grave and pick the window at the top-left. It will be either 02 or 03. Say that it is 02. So, now 02 is front-most. Hit alt-grave again. The left, top window will be 01. So, if you hit alt-grave and take the top-left window, you will get: 01, 02, 01, 02, 01, 02, ... forever. Note that if you have 20 windows open and you do this, the windows you will see by hitting alt-grave and selecting the top-left window are: 01, 02, 01, 02, 01, 02, etc, etc, etc. You see that there is a difference, yes? My initial report was a bit more complex than this, but if you want something that is 100% reproducible and as simple as I can make it, here it is. If you fix this, it will be clear how to use alt-grave to navigate through all the windows. If you do not, then alt-grave gives you a list and the order of the list is changed every time, so you have to search, yourself, for one of the pages you have not already navigated through. And, as I pointed out, rather than make me play whack-a-mole in 20 windows, the windows could be presented in a logical order, as they are from clicking on the Launcher icon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386466 Title: alt-backtick switcher does not iterate through all windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1386466/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1389344] Re: Unlock screen is slow, drops passphrase key-presses
Yeah, I've noticed this some time ago... I'm sure I even filed a bug... But can't find it now. Don't have a good explanation either. It's either that CPU spikes after wake up (if you wait a few seconds before typing your passcode, can you still reproduce this?)... or some of the first input events after suspend get lost. To try and track this down, we'd probably need to put some debugging in place to log input events as they come in, so that you can leave your device to suspend and grab some logs when you encounter the problem. ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389344 Title: Unlock screen is slow, drops passphrase key-presses To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1389344/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If you install e.g. Nvidia driver from a file .run downloaded from Nvidia site, the driver is not registered in DKMS properly, and you need to install it again every time you update the kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1372609 Title: Touchpad detected as mouse on Asus ux303ln laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1372609/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 1191530] Re: Menu config file merge menus from standard locations too soon so defaults override merges.
On Tue, 4 Nov 2014, Walter Lapchynski wrote: > calling this invalid due to not meeting the specifications. Which specification are you looking at? Any setting in /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged, ~/.config/menus should be able to override the system menu config. http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/ar01s05.html Par.12 "Merged menu elements are kept in order because and elements later in the file override and elements earlier in the file. This means that if the user's menu file merges the system menu file, the user can always override what the system menu specifies by placing elements after the that incorporates the system file." So, the way to test this is, is that a *.menu file in ~/.config/menus/ can change the layout of the menu. Right now this does not happen. Another sub menu can be added, but the layout of the main menu can not be changed as it should be able to be. For example, the user installs a number of apps that pertain to the user's primary use of their computer. But it ends up part way doen the menu and they wish to have it at the top. They should be able to change the layout without editting the system menu file. ubuntustudio uses a group of sub menus that should be grouped for easy user reference in the /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/ directory. It groups the 5 submenus for audio, graphics, photography, pubplishing and video. The stock *menu file does not merge this correctly. That is to the spec. priority: system menu file is default and therefore has the lowest priority. /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/ files are installed by other applications or meta files. This should have a higher priority that the system menu file. ~/.config/menus/ is the user's version of things how they would like to see it. Therefore, it should have the highest priority and be able to override anything else. in http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/ar01s05.html paragraph 5 the first bulletted item (1) we see that the last item read is prioritized. So the must be near the bottom of the system menu file in order to work to specification. KDE (BTW) has this right and it does work to specification, nobody else does. -- Len Ovens www.ovenwerks.net -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1191530 Title: Menu config file merge menus from standard locations too soon so defaults override merges. [Bug 1379836] Re: dialer and messaging app show unlocked pin as locked
I would prefer that the ofono task in this bug be removed, as it's essentially a duplicate of bug #1376250, which as Alfonso pointed out has already been committed to trunk. I added an rtm14 tag and an Ubuntu (RTM) task to that bug so that it can be escalated and landed in one of the OTA buckets. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1379836 Title: dialer and messaging app show unlocked pin as locked To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/telepathy-ofono/+bug/1379836/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 730023] Re: Mountall doesn't swapon with 'ignore'-d swap in fstab
New to these forums. The machine is a test machine to use with HEAVY 3D graphics and animations. Testing Unity and OS for stability. I think these errors may be coming from the Ubuntu install program and happens when you attempt to override installer defaults. The system has 2 physical hard drives. I made several install attempts trying to learn the partition utility as part of install. I think that BOTH drives were set up while experimenting and the confusion may come about a a result of system crashes or hard resets? IDK, I'm fishing here. During installation as a first time Ubuntu user I was surprised that the install doesn't let you create mounts for the file systems you define on a second drive? The install didn't recognize the encrypted /home partition on the larger second drive, complained and home was mounted on the first smaller drive. I accepted this knowing it can be changed later. So, the swap is encrypted. I wonder how many users are reporting on similar issues with encrypted swap or don't know they have any. My very large 1T encrypted /home partition is not mounted at all. I just decided to let this ride in order to try the rest of the system at the time. I know brevity is appreciated, but this one might have to be long to get started. No fear here, as this is an empty machine at this point. However, there are many other issues on this machine as well. Attached is a long file showing disks, etc because I don't think this issue has been solved at the root problem, and is not showing many users affected simply because they are taking the default installation without knowing that it is happening. I think the priority on this issue should be raised since it is a core function in a long term release, but I might be wrong ;-) ** Attachment added: "ubuntu 10.0.4 swap won't mount.odt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/730023/+attachment/4253106/+files/ubuntu%2010.0.4%20swap%20won%27t%20mount.odt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/730023 Title: Mountall doesn't swapon with 'ignore'-d swap in fstab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/730023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

As well, Microsoft clears up what it means via: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/dcount-HP005209049.aspx The field parameter is not supposed to have a 0 in it as field is the column to use. A 0 column does not make sense. Hence, LO should throw an error for Excel compatibility reasons (Gnumeric also throws the error appropriately).
