[Bug 1396649] [NEW] Code Comment: uncomment removing non-comment %-signs in e.g. LaTeX document
Public bug reported: The code comment/uncomment plugin "Code Comment" is behaving unexpectedly. In LaTeX, % signs are used to indicate a comment, but are also used as the actual percent sign when escaped with a \ (e.g. 50\% is half, 25\% is one-quarter, etc...) The uncomment part of the Code Comment plugin is removing % signs, even when they are not at the start of a line. This can break LaTeX code, as demonstrated with the following example Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a new document 2. Copy/paste the LaTeX code below "Test case:" 3. Enable the Code Comment plugin under Preferences>Plugins 4. Under View>Highlight Mode..., Select LaTeX (or save file with a .tex extension) 5. Select all text in the document. 6. Press "shift-ctrl-m" or select from the menu Edit>Uncomment Code Test case: \documentclass{report} \begin{document} Here is some text you might type in LaTeX. $>99\%$ of lines in LaTeX look like this. e.g. 50\% is half, 25\% is one-quarter %Like all statistics, the above line is completely fabricated. Here is a line with an in-line comment. %This is an inline comment and should not be removed. %Here is a commented line with a percentage: 50\% means the same as half. \end{document} Expected result (% signs should only be removed from start of line): \documentclass{report} \begin{document} Here is some text you might type in LaTeX. $>99\%$ of lines in LaTeX look like this. e.g. 50\% is half, 25\% is one-quarter Like all statistics, the above line is completely fabricated. [Bug 1396536] Re: lxc_start - Exec format error - failed to exec /sbin/init
No my arch is amd64, that's why I specified "-a armhf". I know about qemu (I wasn't sure whether to use static or binfmt), but errors should be meaningful, instead it seems as if lxc is working fine, but in fact it's not. Obviously it's not a matter of permissions, so the error is wrong. The image I used is downloaded from debian.org, so I didn't prepare it myself. Either non-armhf hosts shouldn't list armhf images or should warn (maybe in documentation, if not in code) that those aren't usable without additional packages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1396536 Title: lxc_start - Exec format error - failed to exec /sbin/init To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1396536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1396213] Re: LVM VG is not activated during system boot
I experience the same symptoms with the mainline kernel. Note, if the problem is really with initrd scripts, then probably the kernel version doesn't matter much. On the other hand, as I see, lvm2 initrd scripts haven't changed since Trusty, which would suggest it's a kernel bug, after all. Hard to pinpoint. Either way, I suspect one of my hard disks (/dev/sda, Maxtor) initializes late, and that might cause the problem. Still interesting that older kernels bother to wait for it and properly activate the vmhost-vg. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1396213 Title: LVM VG is not activated during system boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1396213/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1396536] [NEW] lxc_start - Exec format error - failed to exec /sbin/init
Hi, thanks for submitting this bug. Is your host architecture armhf? If not, then when using the download template you'll need to manually install qemu-user-static on the host, and copy /usr/bin/qemu-arm-static into the container's rootfs. [Bug 1396213] Re: LVM VG is not activated during system boot
** Description changed: Hi all, I open this report based on the linked conversation I had on the linux-lvm mailing list, and the Ask Ubuntu question I posted regarding this case. https://www.redhat.com/archives/linux-lvm/2014-November/msg00023.html https://www.redhat.com/archives/linux-lvm/2014-November/msg00024.html http://askubuntu.com/questions/542656/lvm-vg-is-not-activated-during-system-boot I have 2 VGs on my system, and for some reason, only one of them gets activated during the initrd boot sequence, which doesn't have my root LV, so my boot sequence halts with an initrd prompt. When I get to the initrd BusyBox prompt, I can see my LVs are inactive with "lvm lvscan" – then, "lvm vgchange -ay" brings them online. The boot sequence continues as I exit the BusyBox prompt. The expected behaviour would be that both VGs should activate automatically. On LVM mailing list, I've been advised it may be a problem with Ubuntu initrd scripts, hence I report this problem here. (I'm not sure if I'm reporting it to the correct place by assigning it to "linux", but I didn't find a package directly related to the initrd only, so I assumed initrd scripts are maintained by the kernel team. If you think it's an error, and know the correct package, please reassign!) Our suspicion is, initrd prematurely issues "vgchange -ay" before all the PVs come online. This makes sense. I already tried to set the "rootdelay" kernel parameter to make initrd wait longer for the boot LV to come up, but it didn't work. Note however, it worked with previous kernel versions. The problem came up when I upgraded to Utopic, and got kernel vmlinuz-3.16.0-23-generic. When I boot with the old kernel from Trusty (vmlinuz-3.13.0-37-generic), it works fine. --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k3.16.0-23-generic. [Bug 1396637] [NEW] deads keys / accented characters stop working on Libreoffice after windows loses focus
Public bug reported: deads keys / accented characters stop working on Libreoffice after windows loses focus On Ubuntu 14.04 with KDE: 1. open libreoffice 2. write áéíóú 3. click on another window or use alt+tab 4. clock on libreoffice window or use alt+tab 5. write áéíóu and get aeiou instead The situation can be worked around by running unset XMODIFIERS libreoffice from a terminal. We can certainly set unset XMODIFIERS on /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice but that will not survice libreoffice upgrades. We could also unset XMODIFIERS on .bash_profile but we want the workaround to be limited to libreoffice without causing side effects on other apps. Conclusion: we need a solution that comes directly from Ubuntu's repositories. Any comments? We are available for further debugging and testing. [Bug 1396619] Re: ubuntu-device-flash lacks offline system image generation
** Description changed: Currently ubuntu-device-flash feeds data to a device script 'system- image-updater' to assemble a viable 'system-image' system partition for a phone (and it does other stuff this bug doesn't care about, like wiping userdata). As input to the factory image process, the 'system' filesystem is needed to be output from ubuntu-device-flash without an attached device. so, I think it would be useful if it were possible to say: ubuntu-device-flash [--revision N] touch [--channel ubuntu-touch/stable] - --device mako [--developer-mode] [--password X] --output-image path/to - /system-image.tar.xz + --device [mako|flo|whatever-is-in-the-channel] [--developer-mode] + [--password X] --output-image path/to/system-image.tar.xz Where system-image.tar.xz contains the contents of: ubuntu-XXX.tar.xz custom-YYY.tar.xz device-ZZZ.tar.xz version-AAA-tar.xz plus any manipulations implied by the optional arguments so that this file can be input to a factory image creation tool for the device. It is assumed that these will be placed onto a suitable filesystem hosted in a single storage partition. The optional --developer-mode arguments are so that devices can be fed into an OEM CI system that flashes the devices as they would be in the factory, but still requires test access to the system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1396619 Title: ubuntu-device-flash lacks offline system image generation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/goget-ubuntu-touch/+bug/1396619/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
