[Bug 1407790] Re: GRUB >= 2.00 has been unpacked but not yet configured.
That should not have made any difference since the script is not actually referencing GRUB_PREFIX since it was removed. The script is checking to see if /etc/grub.d/00_header still references it, which it shouldn't as it has been removed. Does your 00_header still reference it? If so something must have gone wrong in the upgrade somewhere. Purge grub-common and reinstall and it should reinstall that file which should no longer reference that variable. ** Changed in: grub (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Package changed: grub (Ubuntu) => grub2 (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1407790 Title: GRUB >= 2.00 has been unpacked but not yet configured. [Bug 1407841] [NEW] docker.io package fails install if docker group is pre-existing
Public bug reported: When installing the docker.io package, it fails during installation with a message akin to the following: stderr: addgroup: The group `docker' already exists and is not a system group. Exiting. dpkg: error processing package docker.io (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: docker.io E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) This was originally discovered during charm development where a user can switch from the canonical docker package to the docker maintained package 'lxc-docker'. With the upstream package, they are not maintaining a docker-group in the charm, and allows for installation regardless of the presence of the group. While the docker.io package will halt installation in a panic if it exists - regardless if its a system group or not. Just the presence alone appears to be the key factor in the failure. I don't think this behavior is correct - as a user may have created a docker group themselves, and expect to install the docker.io package from the repository after removing the latest - due to a bug or any number of reasons. I'm linking the commit to the charm and the user stack trace for additional validation/investigation if required: https://github.com/chuckbutler/docker- charm/commit/59946a7bd6bfa3cc050de3b27e62d3207c71be47 https://gist.github.com/slatunje/735e1e5132de02a3ad1d ** Affects: docker.io (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: papercut -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1407841 Title: docker.io package fails install if docker group is pre-existing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/docker.io/+bug/1407841/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Per a suggestion on the xubuntu-devel IRC channel, I tested the intel xorg-edgers ppa driver -- to no avail. Next suggestion was to try a later kernel. [Bug 1400314] Re: CVE-2014-8134
** Changed in: linux-armadaxp (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: linux-lts-raring (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => Invalid ** Description changed: - paravirt_enabled has the following effects: - Disables the F00F bug - workaround warning. There is no F00F bug workaround any more because - Linux's standard IDT handling already works around the F00F bug, but - the warning still exists. This is only cosmetic, and, in any event, - there is no such thing as KVM on a CPU with the F00F bug. - Disables - 32-bit APM BIOS detection. On a KVM paravirt system, there should be - no APM BIOS anyway. - Disables tboot. I think that the tboot code - should check the CPUID hypervisor bit directly if it matters. - - paravirt_enabled disables espfix32. espfix32 should *not* be disabled - under KVM paravirt. The last point is the purpose of this patch. It - fixes a leak of the high 16 bits of the kernel stack address on 32-bit - KVM paravirt guests. While I'm at it, this removes pv_info setup from - kvmclock. That code seems to serve no purpose. + The paravirt_ops_setup function in arch/x86/kernel/kvm.c in the Linux + kernel through 3.18 uses an improper paravirt_enabled setting for KVM + guest kernels, which makes it easier for guest OS users to bypass the + ASLR protection mechanism via a crafted application that reads a 16-bit + value. If I were to check a document, it would always say that there are no errors, but when I manually check the document, there are clear spelling errors. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open new Writer document and change language to English (Australia) 2. Type something with an obvious spelling error in it 3. Run spellcheck Current behavior: The spellcheck will return no errors. If necessary it will show "continue from top" message, but no errors will be found. (Auto spellcheck also finds no errors.) You can reproduce the problem by creating a new document and typing some garbage. The spell checker can find no problem and it always reports "Spell check complete." The spell checker behaves exactly the same when you change the document language to "None" as when you change it to "English (Australian)". > I get "color" marked as wrong here. Could you confirm, that it is wrong in > Australian English? Australian English is the same as British English (ignoring idioms). "Color" is the U.S. spelling. In Australia and the U.K. the spelling is "colour". So one workaround is to switch the default language to English (U.K.) in settings. But changing the default may not help for documents already saved with language "English (Australian)". [Bug 1389954] Re: Make .lxc domain name resolution easier to discover and enable
This has been discussed before. I definately want to make things work as cleanly as possible out of the box. There are a few problems with doing htis though, 1) networkmanager isn't the only place we'd need to do this (most "serious" lxc hosts probably don't run networkmanager), 2) if we do this automatically then changes made to /etc/default/lxc-net may start to require more baroque changes elsewhere. We almost want a simple tool to administer all the network bits at this point. Another possiblity is to leave fixing this to lxd. ** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389954 Title: Make .lxc domain name resolution easier to discover and enable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1389954/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1389028] Re: u1 account crashes and gets removed when installing app
I'm setting this back to Fix Released. As stated by the original reporter in comment #15, this was due to a corrupted account on the server, which had two different tokens somehow registered for the device. This would cause the account to be created successfully when logging in via Online Accounts, but when the account would be used by the scope, it would see from the server that the credentials were invalid (because the server was expecting a different token), and the scope would delete the local account and require the user to log in again (because it appeared to have invalid credentials on the device). [Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus
I confirm that the bug affects nemo, too -- so presumably the root cause is not in nautilus. I am hit by the bug right after upgrading to 14.04 from 13.10. I can reproduce the error with the following scenario: start nemo press shift-ctrl-n to create a folder. A new folder with 'Untitled Folder' created, the name is selected. press shift-ctrl again. The order is important -- shift before, ctrl after. The selection goes away, and now the folder 'Untitled Folder' itself is selected. after that, you cannot cut or copy -- neither with kbd shortcut, neither with menu items. As nemo visually gives feedback upon cutting a file, I can see that the cut action is not performed. I hope this helps. nemo 2.0.8 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1322925 Title: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1322925/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1405842] Re: Microcode SW error detected.
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This will help determine if the problem you are seeing is the result of a regression, and when this regression was introduced. If this is a regression, we can perform a kernel bisect to identify the commit that introduced the problem. ** Changed in: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1405842 Title: Microcode SW error detected.
