[Bug 1410152] [NEW] libreoffice can't open files in other partition
Public bug reported: I use libreoffice (version 4.2.7.2) under Kubuntu 14.04 (KDE 4.13.2) and I can't open files that are not within the Kubuntu partition. The 'up'-button just stops and no partition is shown in the small window on the left. All other software open those files without problems and LO used to work fine as well (under my former version of Kubuntu). ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1410152 Title: libreoffice can't open files in other partition To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1410152/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1408821] Re: Unstable Wi-Fi
Christopher, Sorry, but I couldn't dissect it back to the lucid kernels, the packages just won't install right, popping a lot of errors. I have tried to supply some of the dependencies myself, but to no avail. I could though find another clue, one of the packages these older kernels need is called wireless-crda, which I suspect is the package which would contain the wi-fi 'drivers'. Maybe the lack of dependency on this package would explain why the newer kernels don't work right with this hardware. Cheers, Diogo On Sat, Jan 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM, Christopher M. Penalver christopher.m.penal...@gmail.com wrote: Diogo Schneider, this is not Fix Committed as defined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status . Despite this, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect from kernel 3.13 to 3.19-rc3 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed immediately by the first good one. Once this commit has been identified, then it may be reviewed as a candidate for backporting into your release. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection#How_do_I_reverse_bisect_the_upstream_kernel.3F ? [Bug 1410143] [NEW] nvidia-331 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4: nvidia-331 kernel module failed to build
Public bug reported: Linux desktop 3.13.0-44-generic #73-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 16 00:22:43 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux lsb_release -rd: Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release:14.04 Memory: 3.9 GiB Processor: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz × 4 Graphics: GeForce 9800 GT/PCIe/SSE2 OS type: 64-bit Please forward the following remark to whoever needs to know: The software updater reported a problem and asked me if I wanted to report it, I've responded with yes (report), or something to that effect. I'm not sure if this is a new bug or not, I don't have enough knowledge to provide details about the issue... all I wanted was to report what the software updater regards as a problem. In my opinion there should be an option, for people like me who don't know the inner workings of the system, to just report, directly from the software updater, without having to log in, and without all the additional steps... the updater should already have all the system, kernel, and other required info. Thanks, Have a wonderful day :-) ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: nvidia-331 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-44.73-generic 3.13.11-ckt12 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-44-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.6 Architecture: amd64 DKMSKernelVersion: 3.13.0-44-generic Date: Tue Jan 13 10:50:25 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-12-24 (384 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander - Release amd64 (20131016.1) PackageVersion: 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4 SourcePackage: nvidia-graphics-drivers-331 Title: nvidia-331 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4: nvidia-331 kernel module failed to build UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to trusty on 2014-04-26 (261 days ago) ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-331 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-package trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1410143 Title: nvidia-331 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4: nvidia-331 kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-331/+bug/1410143/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1409807] Re: Look and feel of the Software Center is not modernized
Jeb, thanks for this report. Unfortunately it is not useful for improving the software, because it covers multiple issues, and none of them specifically. There is no possible code change that anyone could plan, make, or merge with the serious thought that oh, this will fix bug 1409807. If you can identify specific items in the UI that feel out of place, please report each type of item as a separate bug, with a screenshot. If there is a case where USC does not even show status of an install, please report that bug, with steps to reproduce the problem. If there is a case where USC says one thing that has been installed is not installed, please report that bug, with steps to reproduce the problem. If by checks and balances you have anything specific in mind, please report that. Finally, warning users about installing software on unsupported hardware is already implemented. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter#system- requirements It is up to individual packages to specify those requirements. If any package with unusual requirements does not do this, please report a bug on the package. ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: software-center Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1409807 Title: Look and feel of the Software Center is not modernized To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/software-center/+bug/1409807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1410174] [NEW] [MIR] adwaita-icon-theme
Public bug reported: gtk+3.0's default theme is now Adwaita, and the testsuite contains a set of 'reftests' to check the rendering of various widgets. These tests in some cases rely on adwaita's icons, which are shipped in adwaita-icon- theme. It's therefore a build dependency of gtk+3.0 and so needs to be in main. For the Ubuntu usecase we have copied the icons immediately necessary over to our humanity-icon-theme package so there is no current need to have adwaita-icon-theme as a runtime dependency. We *do* want to move from gnome-icon-theme to adwaita-icon-theme for the Ubuntu desktop, but in order to do that we have to replicate the split that gnome-icon-theme has currently, otherwise we will add just under 10MB to the image instead of filtering out duplicate (with humanity) icons. The MIR is on the understanding that there will be no runtime dependency on the Ubuntu desktop image until that split is done. All depends and build-depends are in main. Packaging is clean. Binary package is arch:all and builds fine. No bugs in LP. Desktop team will maintain. ** Affects: adwaita-icon-theme (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1410174 Title: [MIR] adwaita-icon-theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/adwaita-icon-theme/+bug/1410174/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1410177] [NEW] New USB vendor_id/product_id for ARCHOS Cobalt tablet
Public bug reported: I have added these two rules: #MTP mode: ATTR{idVendor}==0e79, ATTR{idProduct}==15ba, SYMLINK+=libmtp-%k, MODE=0660, GROUP=audio, ENV{ID_MTP_DEVICE}=1, ENV{ID_MEDIA_PLAYER}=1 #PTP mode: ATTR{idVendor}==0e79, ATTR{idProduct}==15bc, SYMLINK+=libmtp-%k, MODE=0664, GROUP=plugdev, ENV{ID_MTP_DEVICE}=1, ENV{ID_MEDIA_PLAYER}=1 and it works. The line for PTP mode actually does nothing, the device was created with the same parameters before I added it. I mentioned the line just as an excuse for providing the prod_id. Package-version: 1.1.6-20-g1b9f164-1ubuntu2 File: /lib/udev/rules.d/69-libmtp.rules Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Previously the device only worked in PTP mode while in MTP mode it was silently failing (nothing was actually failing, but the device was created with the wrong attributes, so it didn't work). No device appeared in Nautilus, ADB was saying insufficient permissions for device. ** Affects: libmtp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: mtp trusty ** Attachment added: archos_cobalt_lsusb.txt https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1410177/+attachment/4297183/+files/archos_cobalt_lsusb.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1410177 Title: New USB vendor_id/product_id for ARCHOS Cobalt tablet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libmtp/+bug/1410177/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
