[Bug 1341320] Re: empty apt-get install command suggested by hwe-support-status
Verifying for precise. I fully updated all the meta packages. And I also removed all the old meta packages. I only kept a couple of old kernels around. Then, the previous update-manager-core version produced an empty apt line, while the newer one didn't. [Bug 1420217] Re: HWE meta packages "linux-signed-generic"/"linux-signed-image-generic" not considered
I'm verifying that it works for Precise. Steps I did: I downloaded http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubuntu-12.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso. This has linux-signed-generic-lts-saucy installed. I updated to the latest update-manager version in -updates: # apt-get update # apt-get install update-manager update-manage-core # dpkg-query -W update-manager update-manager1:0.156.14.17 I verified that `hwe-support-status --show-replacements` doesn't show the signed kernel: # hwe-support-status --show-replacements linux-generic-lts-trusty libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-trusty xserver-xorg-lts-trusty linux-image-generic-lts-trusty Then I enabled precise-proposed, and installed update-manager 1:0.156.14.18, the one being SRU'ed here. At that point, --show-replacements showed the signed kernel: # hwe-support-status --show-replacements linux-generic-lts-trusty libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-trusty linux-image-generic-lts-trusty linux-signed-generic-lts-trusty linux-signed-image-generic-lts-trusty xserver-xorg-lts-trusty ** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1420217 Title: HWE meta packages "linux-signed-generic"/"linux-signed-image-generic" not considered To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1420217/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This bug is because in mysql the innochecksum binary and man page are shipped in different packages (client vs server). In MariaDB the innochecksum binary and manpage are both part of the client package. We need to either fix MySQL packaging or add mysql-server-5.6 into the breaks/replaces of mariadb-client-5.5 (and -10.0, which should be part of vivid instead of 5.5), like in done in commit http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg- mysql/mariadb-5.5.git/commit/?id=52ceea23d59849801cd6359cac31804cab8153cb when the innochecksum binary/manpage mismatch was fixed in MariaDB. [Bug 1157234] Re: Opening desktop preferences removes the wallpaper
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. I cannot reproduce this bug in any of the following currently supported and development versions: trusty, utopic, vivid. I tried setting a different custom wallpaper from the LXDE menu and by right clicking on the desktop. I could not get the wallpaper to revert either within the same session or after logging out and back in. I was testing on a machine with one monitor, and the wallpaper set to stretch. If there are other specific requirements needed to reproduce this bug, please add those to this bug. It would help us a lot if you could also test this on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 1157234 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. ** Changed in: lxde-common (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157234 Title: Opening desktop preferences removes the wallpaper To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxde-common/+bug/1157234/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in the application being used for the package installation process. Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package again? Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. [Bug 1313446] Re: window disappears on toggle shade
On my setup Ctrl+Alt+s is a keyboard shortcut for this broken "Toggle shaded state" thing. I've been really confused why windows keep ghosting and dying and sometimes taking down compiz with them when I try Ctrl+Alt+s. This shortcut is needed in Emacs, for instance. If this bug affects everyone and it is in fact a default shortcut key for everyone, can you at least disable the keyboard shortcut by default so you're not hijacking useful keypresses and treating them as a shortcut to "break everything"? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313446 Title: window disappears on toggle shade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1313446/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1271513]
(In reply to Kathleen Wilson from comment #137) > Thank you for the clarification. > > Here's the current status of this request... > > Needed to complete the Information Verification phase: > https://wiki.mozilla.org/CA:How_to_apply#Information_Verification > > 1) Audit statement (e.g. WebTrust for CA or ETSI 102 042) that covers SSL > and Code Signing certs > > 2) BR Commitment to Comply in CP/CPS Dear Kathleen, Regarding the audit statement, we strongly believe that there are major overlaps between the “WebTrust Principles and Criteria for Certification Authorities Version 2.0” and the “WebTrust Principles and Criteria for Certification Authorities – SSL Baseline with Network Security – Version 2.0” and such issue should be clarified in the Mozilla CA Certificate Policy. We understand that under the Mozilla’s own criteria, both document's requirements must be satisfied. However, we think this is not the most efficient way to handle it because of the extra cost and time that CA's management need to budget to engage duplicate reporting of the same controls. We kindly ask you for some clarification of this situation to the industry, CPA Canada and users, because we did not find any reference about it and many of us have serious doubts in that respect. Having said this, we have developed a compliance matrix (CA + SSL BR) for this client and indeed all the requirements have been satisfied and we have evidences about this assertion.
