[Bug 1422328] Re: Allow users to create their own aggregator scopes without programming
FWIW, this functionality is covered in Android by using widgets. Users can arrange arbitrary widgets freely in several Android launchers, such as ADWLauncher. Each app can provide multiple widgets for different styles and functions, to make that app's data and operations usable directly from the launcher screens without having to actually launch the app... and the user can easily group or arrange them however they like with a few taps and gestures. Just as a point of reference for what people may be expecting as baseline functionality. If anyone in design would like a demo, I have a friend in London who loves Ubuntu and would be happy to show how this UI works along with several other useful concepts. I'd also love to see more end-user- configurable scopes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1422328 Title: Allow users to create their own aggregator scopes without programming To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1422328/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1422904] [NEW] Autopilot returns the wrong custom proxy object when a previous one was registered with the same name
Public bug reported: We are hitting this issue on the sanity test, where we have two different custom proxy objects named LanguagePage. One is from system settings and the other is from unity. [Bug 1417937] Re: qemu appears to be built without CONFIG_NUMA defined
** Description changed: + === + SRU Justification + 1. Impact: openstack cannot use numactl to pin kvm to cpus + 2. Test case: ldd /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86* | grep numa + 3. Regression potential: this causes qemu to be build against libnuma. It should only enable users who wish to use numa to do so, though of course new code will be enabled so unepxected regressions are possible. + === + When running qemu-system-x86_64 -object memory-backend-file,prealloc=yes,mem- path=/dev/hugepages/libvirt/qemu,size=4096M,id=ram-node0,host- nodes=0,policy=bind I got the following error: "NUMA node binding are not supported by this QEMU" Looking at the qemu code, it appears that this means that the package was built without CONFIG_QEMU being defined. The "host- nodes=0,policy=bind" functionality is in use in OpenStack, and so it would be problematic if it is not supported in Ubuntu. [Bug 1422858] Re: package bluez 4.101-0ubuntu13 failed to install/upgrade: cannot copy extracted data for './usr/bin/l2test' to '/usr/bin/l2test.dpkg-new': unexpected end of file or stream
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! [Bug 1372609] Re: Touchpad detected as mouse on Asus ux303ln laptop
Chris, 0xff or 255 shows that large area is pressed. This is built in palm detection as I understand. You probably have too thick fingers ;-) Maybe Mathias has more information, but it seems that we do not know the protocol well enough to disable this feature or set it up anyway. Anoter idea is maybe not just return and wait for some other input, like it is now done, but after some timeout call focaltech_process_abs_packet again. [Bug 1408107] Re: Can't remove huge files from samba share on first attempt - Input/output error
I don't think this is a gvfs issue, the timeout is coming from libsmbclient which gvfs uses to communicate with the server. Deleting a file should be quick though so timing out is strange. How long does it take to timeout? Maybe there's something strange happening like the server crashing which causes the connection to timeout? [Bug 1372609] Re: Touchpad detected as mouse on Asus ux303ln laptop
Mathias: After reproducing the error while running my logging/parser, I've been able to identify that the pointer freeze issue is happening in the code you linked. Lines 188-192 are an if condition invalidating the input whenever the final byte is set to 255. In my logging, I'm seeing that that byte is typically 16, 32, 64, and as the comments in the code indicate, seems to be related to how much of my finger I allow to contact the touchpad. However, that byte occasionally (and spuriously) gets set to 255; once set, it stays set at 255 until the touch is removed and re-applied. My current thinking is that removing the if condition would be sufficient to prevent this issue, but I worry about side-effects when the final byte is set to 255 for valid reasons. [Bug 1418286] Re: kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-3.18.0/mm/slub.c:3334!
>From the above, it looks like you are not running the test kernel. I don't think 'uname -a' would show the "lp1418286v1" string, but the build date should be Feb 17, not 6. (BTW, running something like 'dmesg|grep "Linux version"' should show that "~lp1418286v1" string). So, it looks like the installation of the 4 .deb files failed, in particular the linux-image-3.18.0-13-generic* one. Could you please take a look at the output and see if you see any error? (The "Request for unknown module key..." lines seems to indicate that the linux-image- extra... package was indeed installed.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1418286 Title: kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-3.18.0/mm/slub.c:3334!
