[Bug 1436891] Re: Cannot connect to any WiFi access point which runs wireless-N
OK, I couldn't figure out how to build kernel versions, so I tried to do a commit bisect between 3.16.0-0.1 and 3.16.0-23.31. It didn't do what I thought it would. From what I can tell, it looks like 3.16.0-0.1 is good, but git bisect took it to be bad, and has been bisecting things *before* it. I might now have worked out how to get git to build a specific kernel version. The weather's supposed to be garbage tomorrow and I don't have all that much else to do, so maybe I'll have a chance to work on this a bit. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1436891 Title: Cannot connect to any WiFi access point which runs wireless-N To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1436891/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1445696] Re: Network Manager not recognising some VPN settings
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1445696/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1413405] Re: [MIR] lxcfs
I've reviewed lxcfs 0.7-0ubuntu2 in Vivid. Due to time-constraints, this should not be considered a full audit. I focused on common mistakes in C and any interesting pieces of code that caught my eye. Here are some of the more important pieces from my notes: * lxcfs provides "A cgroupfs-like tree which is container aware and works using CGManager." and "A set of files which can be bind-mounted over their /proc originals to provide CGroup-aware values." * No CVE history (the project is very young) * Minimal build deps (libcmanager and libfuse are the only notables) * lxcfs is a root owned fuse daemon - Uses libfuse to daemonize * Test suite consists of two simple tests (one for the cgroup subdir and one for the proc subdir) that are packaged as autopkgtests * Packaging is clean and simple * The build is clean There is one issue that could be addressed: * Technically, the memory pointed to by the 'd' pointer is never freed from main() in lxcfs.c. This is not an issue in practice but would be nice to silence the warning from cppcheck and probably other checkers. There is one issue that must be addressed: * In many of the lxcfs_ops functions, the matching of the /cgroup path component is a little off. The strncmp() is limited to only the first 7 chars and then there's nothing in pick_controller_from_path() verifying that the 8th char is a '/'. This results in "/cgroup@freezer/a/b" being treated as a valid path. There is one open question that I have: * In pid_to_ns_wrapper(), you access /proc//ns/pid, where comes from the struct fuse_context that is initially passed into lxcfs_read(). Is that process pinned for the lifetime of the lxcfs_read() or could it be recycled in the middle of the lxcfs_read()? We need to be sure that pid_to_ns_wrapper() is not accessing the ns of a recycled pid. Once the "/cgroup" strncmp() matching issue is fixed and pid_to_ns_wrapper() is deemed safe, lxcfs gets a Security Team ack for main. It is a complex solution for a complicated problem but I'm very confident that the containers team will quickly address any issues discovered in the future. Thanks! ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu) Assignee: Tyler Hicks (tyhicks) => Stéphane Graber (stgraber) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1413405 Title: [MIR] lxcfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxcfs/+bug/1413405/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Not sure how much of this is included automatically. This is an old laptop. This is a new install of Ubuntu 14.04. A little bit ago, while attempting to install a lot of updates through the GUI, after I had locked the screen, the laptop seemed to go unresponsive. I switched over to a virtual terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F1). At first there was a message saying the GPU had crashed or locked or something and that it was switched to a frame buffer. [Bug 1441210] Re: Roboto fonts make printer crash (fonts-android)
** Description changed: + trusty SRU request + == + + [Impact] + + When using Roboto fonts (the fonts-roboto package), printing fails with + some printers. This has been fixed in later versions, so this proposed + upload installs Roboto fonts from fonts-android 4.4.4r2 instead of 4.3. + Unlike fonts-droid, fonts-roboto is not a seeded package, so while it's + an annoying bug for those affected, this fix only affects those who + explicitly install and use fonts-roboto. + + [Test Case] + + * Package: fonts-roboto 1:4.3-3ubuntu1.1 + + * Expected Results: When using Roboto fonts in a document (pdf, odf, + etc.), I should be able to print the document. + + * Current Results: Roboto fonts make the printer crash instead of + printing. The printer I am using is a HP-Laser Jet P2055. + + [Regression Potential] + + Low. + + [Original Description] + As per https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=38383, there has been issues with the Roboto font family regarding printing. These issues seem to have been resolved in the new version of the fonts made available by Google in 2014 here http://developer.android.com/design/style/typography.html. My setup: 1) Release: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 2) Package: fonts-roboto 1:4.3-3ubuntu1.1 3) Expected Results: When using Roboto fonts in a document (pdf, odf, etc.), I should be able to print the document. - 4) Current Results: Roboto fonts make the printer crash instead of printing. Running 14.04.2 with original X stack and Utopic kernel. updated fglrx- updates, fglrx-amdcccle-updates to the versions in proposed and it didn’t work, giving several errors; first got an error due to this bug #1444336 simply selecting the packages for re-installation in synaptic allowed them to install properly, but I then encountered more errors after reboot; fglrxinfo in terminal gives: X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation) Major opcode of failed request: 155 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString) Serial number of failed request: 12 Current serial number in output stream: 12 Trying to start Catalyst Control Center gives There was a problem initializing Catalyst Control Center Linux edition. Completely removing, restarting and reinstalling fglrx-updates and related packages from proposed and running aticonfig --initial fixes all of these errors. Thus I think there may be problems for people when they try to update fglrx if this version hits the official repos. Unfortunately I found another problem with Boinc Boinc now thinks that the gpu doesnt support opencl, giving these errors; App version needs OpenCL but GPU doesn't support it Application uses missing ATI GPU Running clinfo seems to indicate that OpenCL is installed. [Bug 1403152] Re: unregister_netdevice: waiting for lo to become free. Usage count
I am able to reliably recreate this on both Ubuntu 14.04 with kernel 3.13.0-37-generic and Ubuntu 14.10 with kernel 3.16.0-23-generic. I have test code that can hit the bug, but it's not cleaned up enough to share. The steps to repro are: Start a container (COW clone using overlayfs from a base/parent Ubuntu 14.04 container). Start clone container, mount an NFS share (remote from machine hosting container) to /mnt in container, create a file on the NFS share in container (dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/foo bs=1024 count=10), stop container, destroy container. I have a script that performs the above sequence over and over again, running 5 such clone containers in parallel at any given time. It only takes about 30s for the kernel to get wedged with: unregister_netdevice: waiting for lo to become free. Usage count = 1 This same script is fine if you do scp instead of writing over NFS. It seems like NFS inside the container is somehow involved here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1403152 Title: unregister_netdevice: waiting for lo to become free. Steps: - short press the power key to blank the display and lock the device - then long press the power key continuously expected: display on showing the power off notification On Arale actual: display on, black On Mako actual: display on, greeter only all the time, no power notification + On krillin #188 + actual: long press never results in screen on On Arale Other interesting bit, if i run phablet-screenshot (mirscreencast) it shows the greeter w/ no power dialog (see long_press1.png attached) If i wait for the backlight to time out once again, and repeat the long keypress, run phablet-screenshot (mirscreencast) is shows the greeter - but with the power dialog this time (see long_press2.png attached) also, if i hit vol+/- simultaneously to get a shell screen shot, i see the corresponding images captured greeter no power notif on long press1, but then greeter with power notif on long press 2 ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Critical -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1445662 Title: [arale] long power key press, results in lit black screen instead of power prompt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1445662/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1384342] Re: kernel messages intel_crtc_wait_for_pending_flips correlate to compiz hang
Øyvind, zob, everyone, This bug has more than one cause. If you still see this in 3.16.0-33 or later and can reproduce it, then test the 4.0.0 kernel, and if it is fixed for you in 4.0.0 (and you can be bothered), you can do a bisect and figure out which patch fixed it.. but if it is not fixed in 4.0.0, then to get it fixed you will need to report it upstream to Intel: boot with drm.debug=0xe and get the complete dmesg up to the WARNING then follow the instructions at https://01.org/linuxgraphics/documentation /how-report-bugs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1384342 Title: kernel messages intel_crtc_wait_for_pending_flips correlate to compiz hang To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1384342/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
