[Bug 1450306] Re: CONFIG_USB_OTG=y again in 14.04LTS causing issues in OTG devices
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1450306/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1450355] Re: statically linking libpthread is problematic
Note that the third case worked because the use of `-Wl,--whole-archive -lpthread -Wl,--no-whole-archive' is a workaround that evidently results in the TLS (Thread-Local Storage) being initialised properly. [Bug 1450043] Re: spice package for trusty contains a malformed patch
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This is fixed in later releases by removing the specific patch, but it would be useful for the Trusty package to be fixed. Why? What is the impact to Trusty users? To update a package in Trusty the procedure is documented at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure. I'm not yet convinced that the fix you proposed is justified under the SRU policy (documented elsewhere in that page) but if you think otherwise then you could proceed by beginning the documentation part of the procedure which is a requirement for doing the update anyway. ** Changed in: spice (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1450043 Title: spice package for trusty contains a malformed patch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/spice/+bug/1450043/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1448407] Re: icons size issues in Nautilus
Ok, what is weird is that your screenshot looks like icons on 100% zoom on my laptop, but maybe it's due to the scaling. Here they look a bit too big with a set up in zooms. The way icons works is that the code looks for matches in the different theme directory (the index.theme has an Inherit= key which lists other themes to use), so e.g the ubuntu-mono themes inherits from Humanity, GNOME, hicolor, so the code is looking in all of those. Also if the exact name is not found, it fallback to more generic ones (application- vnd.oasis.opendocument.text.png/svg is tried first, then it tries application-vnd.oasis.opendocument then application-vnd.oasis, etc) It's likely that some of the icons are lacking at specific sizes in the theme -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1448407 Title: icons size issues in Nautilus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1448407/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1247933] Re: unable to persist bootloader id
grub-install, at least on 14.04 and 15.04, seems to hardcode the path EFI/ubuntu into all secureboot images. This has the effect that regardless of the boot entry that is selected in the EFI interface, grub always reads (ESP)/EFI/ubuntu/grub.cfg and continues to boot from the volume referenced there. The binary /EFI/bootloader-id/grubx64.efi always contains the hardcoded string EFI/ubuntu, which seems to be covered by canonical's signature and thus unchangeable. If secure boot is deactivated, editing the grubx64.efi binary to reflect the correct path fixes the issue for me; i.e. if the bootloader is in EFI/mysecondubuntu, change EFI/ubunt2/grubx64.efi so that the string EFI/ubuntu becomes EFI/ubunt2 (better keep the length the same in order to not break the binary alignment). This only works with secure boot disabled in the firmware; otherwise the signature becomes invalid. However, when grub-install is invoked using --no-uefi-secure-boot, it gets even more confusing: grubx64.efi doesn't contain the hardcoded string anymore, but it seems as if grub.cfg is not even considered anymore – grub directly continues to boot from some hardcoded boot volume which I am unable to modify! All of this makes it almost impossible to install two versions of Ubuntu on a single machine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247933 Title: unable to persist bootloader id To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1247933/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1450383] [NEW] doesn't cope with corrupted SSH key files

If power is removed after this point, fsck might replace this uncommitted data by zero files, in which case it's impossible to login to the system. Hi Thomas, On Thu, Apr 30, 2015 at 06:47:01AM -, Thomas B. Rücker wrote: I just tried to boot ubuntu-15.04-snappy-amd64-generic.img on a MinnowboardMax and ran into this bug. I tried copying them over from a 15.04 server install, but had no luck. If there is no plan to support x86_64 embedded systems (which most come without legacy BIOS), then please at least document a workaround how an image can be modified or rebuilt to gain EFI support. Support for EFI boot is in progress; see https://code.launchpad.net/~vorlon/goget-ubuntu-touch/uefi/+merge/256869, which we hope will land soon in the development version of ubuntu-device-flash. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
