[Bug 1444656] Re: GnuTLS TLS 1.2 handshake failure

2015-05-29 Thread Micah Gersten
This seems like a bug that should be fixed in the LTS rather than
requesting a backport. The 3.2.11 version is available in trusty, but
it's only community supported and doesn't have the utilities built since
it's not the officially supported version. The version with 5 year
support from Canonical is the old 2.12 version gnutls28 (3.2.11) has a
lot of reverse dependencies, so a backport is non trivial. Let's see if
the bug can be fixed in the older version.

** Project changed: trusty-backports = gnutls26 (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1460191] Re: GNU look: File too large

2015-05-29 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1460191/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

As Brian mentioned earlier, there isn't enough information to deal with
this bug just yet. Could someone having this run apport-collect

happens? You can do this by having a terminal open beside ubiquity in
the Try Ubuntu before install option of the CD.

We only need one proper log for this, so it's unnecessary for multiple
people to run apport-collect in the installer; but we do need to know
what/why it's stalling, which is something that will show up in the
 logs.

Also, while I appreciate that this is an annoying bug, I don't think it
qualifies as Critical, so I'm reducing it to High.

[Bug 1432194] Re: Graphics unstable on Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10 using Intel HD Graphics 5500

2015-05-29 Thread Ross Grady
I was able to sit down with a test machine this morning. Here is a
matrix of what I found. My team uses gnome-session-flashback rather than
Unity, so the problem we have been seeing was showing up there.

This is all on a machine with Timo's xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-
utopic_2.99.914-1~exp1ubuntu4.3.1~trusty1_amd64.deb installed from
comment #100

Kernel | Unity | Metacity | Compiz
3.16.0-37| OK | corruption |OK
3.16.0-37| OK| corruption |OK

So at this point I'm consistently able to recreate the problem by
closing the lid to put the machine into standby, and then reopening the
lid, but only using gnome-sesssion-flashback with Metacity.

The problem manifests itself as basically *no* text rendering on screen,
either in the unlock dialogue, or once past that, in any windows that
had been open, in the menubar, etc.

This seems like it might be a separate issue, so if I need to open a
separate ticket, please let me know.

[Bug 1460088] [NEW] Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M

2015-05-29 Thread ishbalai
Public bug reported:

Hello!

Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia
Geforce GTX 960M.

What I mean by this is that the hotkeys for the backlight does not do
anything. The backlight can be manually set while running on the
integrated intel graphics. (Not with hotkeys).

The nvidia GPU is not detected until Nvidias official drivers are
installed. And after installing that driver (any version) the backlight
can not be changed at all.

I hope this can be solved!

[Bug 1433285] Re: Removal Request: Move to universe from main

2015-05-29 Thread Bryan Quigley
** Description changed:

This was a dependency of the solution demoted in
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libnss-ldap/+bug/1408478

Rationale: auth-client-config is an ubuntu specific configuration script
that has been superseeded by pam's pam-auth-update.

- Release: Vivid onwards, these packages are in universe.
+ Release: Wily onwards, these packages are in universe.

Reverse depends: ldap-auth-config (already demoted above).

Eventually: Once the ldap-auth-config/client is removed this can be
  removed too.

Re: [Bug 1455754] Re: Wrong signature on EFI Bios after dist-upgrade

2015-05-29 Thread Steve Langasek
 01256bc72578b55a13a802849c425fd1 /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/MokManager.efi
 7095619324a9fb786422d7427c056405 /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/shimx64.efi

These are the correct md5sums for the signed binaries in the shim-signed
package.

 2e4db13c97729c18490b5534dc30019e /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi

This is not the correct signature for the signed binary in the
grub-efi-amd64-signed package, for either version 1.34.3 (the current
version in trusty) or version 1.34.2 (the version that was current in
trusty-updates at the time you encountered this error).

$ md5sum /usr/lib/grub/x86_64-efi-signed/grubx64.efi.signed
b5c6ea334fc8262942ab722ce9fda7c8
/usr/lib/grub/x86_64-efi-signed/grubx64.efi.signed
$

So the runtime behavior of shim is correct on your system - it *should*
refuse to boot this binary.

The question is, why is this the binary that's installed as
/boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi on your system?

Could you please attach /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi from your system to
this bug report?

Then please run 'grub-install' and check whether this file has been updated
on your system.
