[Bug 1461274] Re: dependency cycles

2015-06-03 Thread Martin Pitt
macfix@eth0.service seems to be the culprit. It seems to not have
DefaultDependencies=no, but wants to run before networ-pre.target. What
is that? Is that coming from any Ubuntu package? What's the output of

  systemctl status macfix@eth0.service
  systemctl cat macfix@.service

?

[Bug 1455754] Re: Wrong signature on EFI Bios after dist-upgrade

2015-06-03 Thread Vincent LESCAUT
yes trusty-proposed is enabled. I've disabled _proposed option, then
installed grub-efi-amd64-signed package and it works fine now; I am able
to boot in secure mode.

Thx a lot for your great help and this good investigation.
Kind regards
Vincent.

[Bug 1362547] Re: Badge missing from "Updates" icon when updates are available

2015-06-03 Thread Michi Henning
I just got confused by this too, when I noticed a "1" badge on the
settings icon in the launcher. When I tap on the settings icon, it takes
me to the settings app as expected, but there is absolutely no visual
indication as to what the "1" badge is for. Whatever the badge(s) on the
launcher icon apply to should also be shown in the settings app itself,
with the badge on the relevant icon where I need to take action.
Otherwise, there is no way for me to know what the badge alert is trying
to tell me.

[Bug 1458351] Re: [ASUS UX305FA] Some Fn+ Keys Not Working

2015-06-03 Thread Carlo Abelli
I will also mention that I have tried acpi_osi=Linux and
acpi_backlight=vendor which both do nothing. In addition a side effect
of acpi_osi= is that while it enables my airplane mode button it renders
the brightness slider in System Settings useless so for now the tradeoff
is not worth it as brightness control for me is more important.

I saw your report and I had tested this with my previous version 14.04
to no avail. It appears that in the new version 15.04 this option added
to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub does enable the
airplane mode button but the brightness controls still remain inactive
(including using acpi_listen). Thank you for your suggestion though!

[Bug 1461573] Re: [SRU] trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/skip-tracker', which is also in package python-tempest-lib

2015-06-03 Thread Felipe Reyes
** Patch added: "lp1461573_wily.debdiff"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-tempest-lib/+bug/1461573/+attachment/4409511/+files/lp1461573_wily.debdiff

** Description changed:

  [Impact]

When trying to install python-tempest-lib and python3-tempest-lib in Vivid, I
  got the following error

  Unpacking python3-tempest-lib (0.4.0-0ubuntu1) ...
  dpkg: error processing archive
/var/cache/apt/archives/python3-tempest-lib_0.4.0-0ubuntu1_all.deb (--unpack):
- trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/skip-tracker', which is also in package
python-tempest-lib 0.4.0-0ubuntu1
+  trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/skip-tracker', which is also in package
python-tempest-lib 0.4.0-0ubuntu1

I would expect to be able to install both packages and be able to run python
scripts using version 2 or 3 of the interpreter.

The patch renames /usr/bin/skip-tracker generated with '#!/usr/bin/python3.4'
  shebang to /usr/bin/python3-skip-tracker

  [Test Case]

  To reproduce just run:

  $ sudo apt-get update
  $ sudo apt-get install python-tempest-lib python3-tempest-lib

Expected result: both packages get installed

  Actual result:
  Unpacking python3-tempest-lib (0.4.0-0ubuntu1) ...
  dpkg: error processing archive
/var/cache/apt/archives/python3-tempest-lib_0.4.0-0ubuntu1_all.deb (--unpack):
- trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/skip-tracker', which is also in package
python-tempest-lib 0.4.0-0ubuntu1
+  trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/skip-tracker', which is also in package
python-tempest-lib 0.4.0-0ubuntu1

+ [Regression Potential]

- [Regression Potential]
-
- Users that only installed python3-tempest-lib and are using
- /usr/bin/skip-tracker expecting it's run with python3 will have to use
- /usr/bin/python3-skip-tracker instead. This is already the case for
- /usr/bin/subunit-trace
+ None expected. skip-tracker is registered with update-alternatives, so
+ no changes will be done from a user's point of view.

  [Other Info]

  None.

I was given a workaround from linux-input. It enables brightness keys

[Bug 1457078] Re: L2TP client support for PSK removed from 15.04

2015-06-03 Thread Mario Harvey
There is a workaround to get l2tp-ipsec on 15.04 but its not very
elegant.

I uninstalled strongswan and installed an old openswan trusty .deb
package.

I then found .deb files of the old l2tp-ipsec-vpn and l2tp-ipsec-vpn-
daemon from trusty by Werner Jaeger.

I installed those and was able to connect. However, this took quite a
bit of time to get working properly and required installing deprecated
packages.

[Bug 1384243] Re: photos rotated in gallery do not display rotated in scope

2015-06-03 Thread Michi Henning
I just tried this with the new thumbnailer, which isn't to blame.
Basically, what's happening is that, after rotating the photo, the image
file under ~/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera is correctly re-writting,
including its rotation information. If you look at the rotated photo
with the gallery app, it is correctly shown with its new rotation,
meaning that the thumbnailer correctly realised that the image was
updated and generated a new thumbnail.

However, the photo scope fails to realize that the image was touched. It
looks like the photo scope does its own thumbnailing, but ignores the
rotation data or some such.

At any rate, this isn't a problem in the thumbnailer.

[Bug 1461738] [NEW] iwl3945 on X61T crashes with Error sending C_POWER_TBL: time out after 500ms

2015-06-03 Thread Edward Z. Yang
Public bug reported:

After using wireless for some period of time, it stops working. dmesg
report is attached. Rebooting the machine makes the wireless driver work
again (for a little bit anyway). I haven't checked if it's related to
suspend/resume, but I use this a lot. I can try bisecting for a kernel
which doesn't have this problem, although between when I started having
problems, I upgraded to Vivid (which didn't fix the problem.)

[Bug 1443288] Re: Unusable in Trusty; upgrade to 1.3.2

2015-06-03 Thread Tim Landscheidt
I tested lua-json 1.3-1ubuntu0.1 on Trusty with the small test script
above (and our application to be sure).

With lua5.1, both worked correctly.

With lua5.2, the small test script failed with the error:

| scfc@toolsbeta-test-trusty:~$ lua
| Lua 5.2.3 Copyright (C) 1994-2013 Lua.org, PUC-Rio
| > require('json')
| > print(json.encode({'a', 'b', 'c'}))
| stdin:1: attempt to call field 'encode' (a nil value)
| stack traceback:
| stdin:1: in main chunk
| [C]: in ?
| >
| scfc@toolsbeta-test-trusty:~$

While our specific application uses lua5.1, I think it should be fixed
for lua5.1 and lua5.2.

[Bug 1302136] Re: indicator-keyboard-service crashed with "Settings schema 'com.canonical.indicator.keyboard' is not installed"

So I used "apt-file search org.gnome.libgnomekbd.desktop" and found that
it is in the package named "libgnomekbd-common"

I installed this package and now the indicator works in XFCE.

[Bug 1263181] Re: curtin discovers HP /dev/cciss/c0d0 incorrectly

2015-06-03 Thread Scott Moser
** Description changed:

Trying the MaaS fast-installer against an HP DL385, it fails to run one
  of the scripts with:

lsblk: /dev/cciss!c0d0: not a block device

This looks to be due to the way the device is reported to lsblk:

  lsblk --noheadings --bytes --pairs
--out=ALIGNMENT,DISC-ALN,DISC-GRAN,DISC-MAX,DISC-ZERO,FSTYPE,GROUP,KNAME,LABEL,LOG-SEC,MAJ:MIN,MIN-IO,MODE,MODEL,MOUNTPOINT,NAME,OPT-IO,OWNER,PHY-SEC,RM,RO,ROTA,RQ-SIZE,SIZE,STATE,TYPE,UUID

The device name should be /dev/cciss/c0d0 so I guess the device name
parsing needs special treatment for HP cciss devices.

When I do a curtin install via maas to some fancy flash hardware, i get:

  no partition found /dev/nvme0n11
Could not stat /dev/nvme0n11 --- No such file or directory

The device apparently does not exist; did you specify it correctly?
  Unexpected error while running command.

Installation failed with exception: Unexpected error while running command.
  Command: ['curtin', 'block-meta', 'simple']

Stdout: "no partition found /dev/nvme0n11\nCould not stat /dev/nvme0n11 ---

  Stderr: ''

smoser: what i think is happening is this
a.) curtin chooses nvme0n1 as the device to install on
  b.) curtin partitions nvme0n1
c.) curtin tries to mkfs on nvme0n11 (appending a '1' to the device name)
when actually the name is 'nvme0n1p1' probably. device names are stupidly
inconsistently named.
and curtin is admittedly very stupid in its assumptions too

This patch fixes it (for me, for this device):

[Bug 1456881] Re: Some touchpads' right button doesn't work under I2C mode, need support of clickpads

2015-06-03 Thread Adam Lee
Shih-Yuan Lee (FourDollars), your comment #13 "(3.13.0-54.91) In
fact, the touchpad doesn't work at all" looks like a regression, could
you please double check it? Please compare to the version 3.13.0-53.89.

I also built a kernel with all patches, please check if it works.

My testing kernel(based on3.13.0-53.87):
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~adamlee/lp1456881_all_patches/
(sorry, pls confirm it's my kernel installed via timestamp or sth. after
you reboot)

[Bug 1391976] Re: Loading libmircommon.so twice leads to a segfault in libprotobuf.so

The trivial one-line workaround proposed in comments #3/#4 might work. I
think I've used it before as a workaround on other Unixes too.

[Bug 1461573] Re: [SRU] trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/skip-tracker', which is also in package python-tempest-lib

2015-06-03 Thread Felipe Reyes
Dear Maintainers,

I was taking a look to the debian package and it uses update-
alternatives to handle skip-tracker and subunit-trace[0], should I
pursue a patch to follow that same behavior? or do you pretend to re-
sync the package with Debian during this cycle (wily)?

Best,

script ran itself recursively. I've uploaded 14.12.0-0ubuntu4 to
~ubuntu-sru with a fix, awaiting approval by ubuntu-sru

[Bug 1461476] Re: sleep screen

2015-06-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Not sure what project this bug is for but it's not Mir. Mir is not used
on the Wily desktop right now.

P.S. This sounds like a general Ubuntu desktop bug I've experienced
myself for at least a year now on various releases.
