[Bug 1465961] [NEW] Ubuntu shape sometimes becomes pixelated in OTA-4

2015-06-16 Thread Pablo Marlasca
Public bug reported:

Hi, I have noticed a refinement in Ubuntu shape icons in launcher and
menus in OTA-4, since they now look smoother than before.

However, about 5 or 6 times a day, since I installed the OTA-4 I have
also noticed that sometimes when you make the launcher appear or unlock
the phone, the shape of the icons (launcher and scopes) appears very
pixelated (I attach a pic to illustrate that). It get solved just by
hiding the launcher and showing it again, and the icons are again
correctly shaped. Can you please fix this?

[Bug 1465959] [NEW] In phones with two SIMs, if you don't unlock SIM1, the message for unlocking SIM2 says "SIM1"

2015-06-16 Thread Simos Xenitellis
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:

1. Use a dual-SIM phone (tested on bq Aquaris E4.5) with two SIMs, both SIMs
should require a PIN to unlock.
2. When booting the phone and prompted for SIM1 PIN, click on "X" in order not
to provide a PIN (thus SIM1 will remain locked).
3.
WHAT YOU GET:
The message says "Input PIN for SIM1" even if this is the turn for SIM2 to
input the PIN.

WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED:
The message should say "Input PIN for SIM2" instead, since now we are typing
the PIN for SIM2.

(I am using a localised build, so the text in the message may not be
exact.)

[Bug 1465958] [NEW] gst-plugins-bad1.0 FTBFS: mirclient headers needed

2015-06-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Public bug reported:

The gst-plugins-bad1.0 package fails to build in Ubuntu since before the
vivid release. The latest build failure, for a no-change rebuild for
the libnettle transition, can be seen at
:

compilation terminated.

This failure happens only on armhf and i386 architectures, which are the only
ones where libgstandroidmedia is enabled.

There are two related bugs here. First, the sys/androidmedia makefile
is failing to reference the ubuntu-platform-api pkg-config, which is the
expected way to find include paths etc for a library that's being
referenced; instead includes of are hard-
coded in sys/androidmedia/gstamc.h. (The pkg-config .pc file indicates
includes of are expected.) Second, the ubuntu-
platform-api .pc file lacks a Requires: declaration against mirclient,
despite the fact that ubuntu-platform-api references headers from Mir.

Both of these bugs should be fixed in order to properly fix the gst-
plugins-bad1.0 build failure.

[Bug 1384969] Re: Writing large amounts of data to exFAT formatted micro sdcards with Ubuntu causes kernel errors and permanent sdcard failure.

2015-06-16 Thread sillyxone
I'm getting similar symptoms on Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. A Samsung 64GB
microSD card, was able to browse and delete files normally, but when
copy about 48GB to it, it would hang around 10GB (my system has 16GB of
RAM). The processing mount.exfat then would cause high iowait. I ejected
the card, put it back in and was able to read it again, but there was
only about 300MB of data written to it.

See attached log copied from dmesg.

One way is to convert FLV to a more compatible video format like MP4,

Her is a step by step guide on how to do that at

[Bug 1465716] Re: nvidia-331-updates 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4: nvidia-331-updates kernel module failed to build

2015-06-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Actually bug 1398212 is the original bug you're experiencing. But bug
1431753 describes the root cause of that bug and others, and is where
the actual fixing is happening.

Well AppID is a concept in Click and the system more than scopes. It is
the name of the package and the hook ID. It is, for instance, what the
name of the apparmor profiles are. But, yes, the same thing.

$(package)_$(hookname)_$(version)

For instance, you can get this value if someone talks to you and you ask
AppArmor what profile the connector is using.

At some level, I don't really care about the implementation, but in
other situations I've found just checking to see if a file exists in a
cache'd path is fast any easy to implement things like this. For
instance:

if [ -e ~/.local/share/unity-scopes/$(appid) ||
-e /usr/lib/*/unity-scopes/$(appid) ]

Would probably work well enough.

[Bug 1465900] [NEW] Installation error

2015-06-16 Thread Christopher
Public bug reported:

I installed a live image on my ScanDisk flash drive and booted via usb.
After trying to install ubuntu (Not using the custom settings) it went
through the installation, then an error came up saying it couldn't
install. The error report said AMD but my laptop has an intel core i5
processor(2.8 Ghz 3rd generation): intel not AMD. My laptop is a
Latitude E6430. I'll try to install it through the custom settings.

Your filesystem is corrupt; you will need to run fsck to try and repair
it, or back up any important data and reformat it.
