[Bug 1161962] Re: XPS 13 wakes up from suspend spontaneously

2015-06-28 Thread Miek Gieben
Fiddling with /proc/acpi/wakeup and kernel 4.1 seems to fix the
spontaneous wakeups on my macbook. However after a day, acpid seems to
see events like LID_CLOSE. Newer Ubuntu version will use systemd for
suspending so I am not sure what benefits I get from debugging this.

[Bug 1429784] Re: Battery level stuck overnight

2015-06-28 Thread Simon Raffeiner
I noticed this bug when the system settings screen showed a battery
level of 94% after 59 hours of idling. But I am not sure it is an
userspace bug:

phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ cat
/sys/devices/platform/battery/power_supply/battery/uevent
POWER_SUPPLY_NAME=battery
POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS=Charging
POWER_SUPPLY_HEALTH=Good
POWER_SUPPLY_PRESENT=1
POWER_SUPPLY_TECHNOLOGY=Li-ion
POWER_SUPPLY_CAPACITY=93
POWER_SUPPLY_BATT_VOL=4186
POWER_SUPPLY_BATT_TEMP=260
POWER_SUPPLY_TEMPERATURER=6644
POWER_SUPPLY_TEMPBATTVOLTAGE=508
POWER_SUPPLY_INSTATVOLT=4186
POWER_SUPPLY_BATTERYAVERAGECURRENT=462
POWER_SUPPLY_BATTERYSENSEVOLTAGE=4186
POWER_SUPPLY_ISENSEVOLTAGE=4275
POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGERVOLTAGE=4702
POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS_2ND=Discharging
POWER_SUPPLY_CAPACITY_2ND=50
POWER_SUPPLY_PRESENT_2ND=0
POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_MAX_DESIGN=420
POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_NOW=4186000
POWER_SUPPLY_TEMP=260

It shows POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS=Charging because I had to connect the USB
cable for phablet-shell. POWER_SUPPLY_CAPACITY=93 must be wrong, it is
an impossible value after two and a half days of idling with radios
enabled. I rebooted the device and nothing changed.

So it might be a kernel and/or hardware issue.

[Bug 1441111] Re: Clicking the launcher icon for Nautilus opens a 2nd window when a device is attached

2015-06-28 Thread Fabio
Expected:
 Starting with no open application:
 1) Attach an external drive (usb pen for example)
 2) Click on the external drive icon on the unity launcher to open Files
(Nautilus) on the usb drive path
 3) Open another app (a browser for example)
 4) Click on the Files (Nautilus) icon to get it in focus

What happens:
 Starting with no open application:
 1) Attach an external drive (usb pen for example)
 2) Click on the external drive icon on the unity launcher to open Files
(Nautilus) on the usb drive path
 3) Open another app (a browser for example)
 4) Click on the Files (Nautilus) icon to get it in focus, but instead a NEW
instance of Files (Nautilus) is opened (the default behaviour when Files
(Nautilus) is closed and you open it first)

Additional informations:
If you have both a Nautilus window under ~, and another under the path of the
external drive, when you click on the nautilus icon it behaves correctly and
make you choose which of the two you want to focus. This doesn't happen if both
windows are under an external drive (or partition) path, as in this case it
opens a third Nautilus window instead (under ~).

It seems like Nautilus (or maybe Unity) is not able to recognize the
windows of the external drives as instances of Nautilus itself.

** Also affects: nautilus
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Summary changed:

- Clicking the launcher icon for Nautilus opens a 2nd window when a device is
attached

Re: [Bug 1469392] Re: Using the shortcut 'Strg+Alt+T' takes at least ten seconds to open the terminal

 I had similar problems on Utopic (14.10), but not anymore on Vivid

 shortcuts as well, e.g. volume up/down, keyboard layout switch etc. I
 heard other people confirming it. Is it maybe the same for you?

Strangely the 'Strg+Alt+T' is the only shortcut that is delayed. Using
the launcher shortcut (like 'Super+2') to open the terminal works fine.
I haven't had any other problems so far.

[Bug 1465942] Re: Selecting written text in landscape mode causes app to crash

2015-06-28 Thread Johannes Kempf
Root cause for this issue seems to be the new cursor. The blue tag which
indicates the cursor's position isn't rotated.
The same applies for the pop-up window where you can select cut, paste, etc..
It is still visualized in portrait view.
I managed to get a screenshot just before the crash (see attachement).

** Attachment added: Screenshot of app just before crash.

[Bug 1469245] Re: Following install GRUB menu does not appear on startup

2015-06-28 Thread Tony Pursell
Hi Phillip

Thanks for all your help. Unfortunately, what you suggested did not
change anything. It is still booting straight into Windows unless I go
via the F12 boot menu. So I have done some tests.

Here is the output of efibootmgr -v after running sudo efibootmgr -o

[Bug 1469476] Re: Mouse cursor issue

2015-06-28 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1469476/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1447830] Re: Konsole using 100% of a single core after being closed.

2015-06-28 Thread Ian Starrie
This seems to be an upstream issue, as I am currently running Manjaro
0.8.13 64 bit KDE and I am running into the same exact problem with
Konsole 15.04.0.

Seemed to start up in the past few months and nearly killed my CPU a
while back. I kept having my system auto shutdown on me when the
processor got too hot from this pegging a single core. I ended up
picking up a better cooler just to be safe, but finally figured out it
was Konsole not shutting down properly which led me here while searching
for a solution.

[Bug 1469487] [NEW] localStorage takes a lot of time to save the values

2015-06-28 Thread costales
Public bug reported:

Hi!

I'm using localStorage HTML5 for read/save the user preferences in GPS
Navigation.

It's working, but it's taking (random time: 3, 5, 10) to really save
those values.

Testing:
- Install my attachment.
- Running from the SDK the click numbers are OK. You can restart the app and
the clicks will be OK.
- Running from the mobile if you click from 5 to 10 clicks the button and you
kill the app fast, the next clicks will be 5, not 10. You have to wait a lot of
seconds for real save that value.

For the test, I added to a normal HTML5 app in the SDK with this HTML5
code:
http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml5_webstorage_local_clickcount

Thanks in advance!

rtl_power and rtl_fm segfault immediately on execution if no step size is
specified in the scanning range. Example of proper syntax: rtl_power -f
50M:100M:10k -  Improper syntax: rtl_power -f 50M:100M -  Rather than
displaying an error about the missing step size option for the -f parameter
or usiing some pre-set default, it segfaults.
rtl-sdr package version 0.5.3-3 in Ubuntu 15.04.

[Bug 1469485] [NEW] Chromium triggers keychain unlock too late

2015-06-28 Thread Kumbarov
Public bug reported:

When you visit a login page for which you have saved the password, the
browser does not auto fill the password. You have to enter it again.
Once you have entered it, Chromium asks you to save it (even though it
has been saved a thousand times before). When you choose to save it,
Ubuntu asks you to unlock the keychain. After you unlock it, you don't
have to manually enter saved passwords in the current session.

This is extremely stupid and inconvenient - what's the point of saving
passwords when you have to always enter it again plus enter the keychain
password to log into accounts? Instead of not entering any password -
you have to enter two passwords! Other browsers, like Firefox, don't
work this way. Please remove the keychain unlock all together or trigger
the unlock dialogue prior account password entry or on browser startup.

this is about that is why I am posting here.

Replace RFCSysLogHandler by a syslog() based one

Rather than using the Python provided logging module that reimplents the
whole syslog protocol and pointing it to /dev/log (which is not
portable), we use the system calls from the syslog module, which are
portable and default to the behaviour we actually want.

  properties next to the button to launch the main menu. A dialog to edit
  the quick launch button will pop up but the text has so little contrast
  the commands as edit them are illegible. I can barely see them on my
  nice ips desktop monitor on a dim laptop screen or dirty one I would not
- be able to read them at all let alone vision impared users.

  I expected legible text in the dialog to edit the menu on the panel.
  Instead the contrast way to low be reasonable legible as shown in the

[Bug 1468811] Re: headphone volume auto-set to loudest

2015-06-28 Thread Andrew Hayzen
I have no observed this on vivid+overlay, but I have been on wily+silo
038 recently and on a walk back from town I observed the 'random'
increases of volume for short periods of time at the start of a new
track.

However I don't think this was related to notifications, as mobile data is
broken on wily, and the wifi was not connected (but it was scanning for new
hotspots constantly with buses going past that it could have connected to).
As it appears to happen when a few seconds into a new song I feel it could be
related to when the usermetrics are incremented (when 5s into a song).

I'll continue monitoring my device to see if it can be made
reproducibly.
