[Bug 1480513] Re: nginx-common should not depend on python
Thank you for considering this request and marking it appropriately. Please kindly suggest to the Debian folks that this future ngx-conf utility should be in a separate package to isolate the need for python. I only noticed this because I routinely remove anything to do with python from my VPS and lxc containers to keep them as light as possible and I was puzzled why installing nginx(-light) tried to reinstall python-2.7. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1480513 Title: nginx-common should not depend on python To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1480513/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1480513] Re: nginx-common should not depend on python
The problem is that the intent in Debian is to ship an `ngx-conf` utility to help manage configuration files. Based off of commits to Debian, this was supposed to be installed as part of nginx-common. The Python dependency exists because that utility was written in Python. I need to check with Debian to see if they still intend to ship this utility and add it to the install scripts. As such I am marking this as Wishlist importance and Triaged until I can reach out to Debian. ** Changed in: nginx (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: nginx (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: nginx (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Thomas Ward (teward) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1480513 Title: nginx-common should not depend on python To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1480513/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1480513] [NEW] nginx-common should not depend on python
Public bug reported: None of the dependencies for nginx-common (lsb-base and init-system- helpers) require python support so the nginx-common package should not force the "python" package to be installed. The current "python" dependency should be moved to Suggests or added to the other nginx-* packages that may need python support. The nginx-light package does not need python but because of the dependency in nginx-common it forces python to be installed. ** Affects: nginx (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1480513 Title: nginx-common should not depend on python To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1480513/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1475166] Re: Ubuntu 15.04 Install Error with Avago Controller
Hello Chris Hi from Adi Here is a update on my findings from 15.04 PPC64LE Live image: I tried latest driver from avago 06.809.16. Preliminary every thing looked okay: Creating, deleting and accessing RAID0 volume. However, coming to particular error that we are facing that: 15.04 Ubuntu Disk Install blocked on Avago RAID Disk. That error, from logs and console messages, has to do with mounting ext4 file system on Avago Raid Disk. But as you can imagine it’s a bit hard to reproduce this full install and debug. So I tried to reproduce that specific part of mounting in live image with newest driver. So basically I focussed to pin point on what’s causing that error: a)I created a partition on raid disk (from Avago) with ext4. b)Tried to mount the ext4 Doing so returns an I/O error, even in live image with Avago’s latest driver . I pasted the commands below: and DMESG error at extreme bottom: Procedure to reproduce this error: To make it more simple to reproduce and debug: I booted to a Live Ubuntu OS PPC64LE 15.04 Version: And executed the following commands: storcli64 /c0 /vall del force (delete virtual disk) storcli64 /c0 add vd type=r0 drives=252:0-3 (Create new v drive) storcli64 /c0 /vall start init force (Initiate the v drive) root@ubuntu:/# fdisk /dev/sda Welcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.25.2). [Bug 1308105]
Looking at Sean's comment of 2015-02-19, it appears that a functional patch is still being sought. I am experiencing the problem of the display not coming back when it is reconnected. I'm posting this in hopes that it assists the maintainers of the code in resolving the issue. With the 4.12 branch from git, I was able to reproduce this bug with just a regular desktop (non HDMI) by disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor. When the monitor was reconnected, the screen does not resume. In the xfce_displays_helper_screen_on_event function in the top section it has the condition of the disconnection of the monitor. In that section it is calling a forced disable of the crtc via crtc->mode = None; xfce_displays_helper_disable_crtc (helper, crtc->id); However, in the else condition below where it is adding in new outputs, the crtc is still in a disabled status when this gets executed after the cable has been reattached. (mode = None, width=0, etc) I think that the proper solution is to get the crtc re-enabled/refreshed upon reconnection and I'm hoping that those that actually know this code would know how to do this (I tried a couple of options across various functions but they did not work). The interim "hack" solution that seems to work for me is to comment out the code that is disabling the crtc. This doesn't seem to spawn additional displays but may other regression problems. And since it is a true hack rather than a correct solution, I'm not attaching it as a patch. Hope this helps, let me know if testing is needed or if you can point me to the proper method of getting the crtc information refreshed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308105 Title: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/1308105/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1473584] Re: AUDIT_USER_AVC messages are not printk'ed when auditd is not running
** Description changed: The auditd daemon is not part of the default phone images. At the kernel level, the audit_enabled variable remains 0 until an auditd daemon registers itself. There is a bug in old kernels that causes AUDIT_USER_AVC messages to be ignored when audit_enabled is 0. The upstream commit id is: 0868a5e150bc4c47e7a003367cd755811eb41e0b What this means for our phone images is that any denial messages from the system D-Bus daemon are dropped instead of being properly routed to the syslog. [Bug 1480492] [NEW] aa-status in apparmor-2.10 depends on python3-apparmor
Public bug reported: The apparmor 2.10-0ubuntu1 package did not migrate from wily-proposed due to the content-hub autopkgtests failing. This turned out to be due to the dh_apparmor postinst snippet failing to load the content-hub test apparmor profiles because aa-status failed to run due to python3-apparmor not being installed. The dependency was added in the apparmor 2.10 cycle due to wanting to get fancier tracebacks that contain more diagnostic information when errors occur. In a minimal ubuntu environment, python-utils and python3-apparmor are not installed by default (which is also why aa-status is included in the main apparmor package). There are a couple of possible short term solutions to this: 1) make the apparmor package depend on python3-apparmor 2) make aa-status function even when python3-apparmor isn't installed, either by reverting the added import entirely, or catching the exception and continuing even when it fails. Long term, aa-status could be re-written (again), this time in C to help minimal environments become even more minimal by getting rid of the dependency on python. ** Affects: apparmor (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1480492 Title: aa-status in apparmor-2.10 depends on python3-apparmor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/1480492/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1478257] Re: [MX4] phone does not ring and call can not be picked up
I have a similar problem with the same phone, though it may not be identical. After some time (maybe several days) there is no ringtone when receiving a call. Trying to change volume or ringtone in settings does not solve the issue. None of the ringtones can be heard. Only after a reboot sound is restored. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1478257 Title: [MX4] phone does not ring and call can not be picked up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dialer-app/+bug/1478257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
