[Bug 1473709] Re: urgent message exception: OGRE EXCEPTION(7:internalerrorException): could not load dynamic library rendersystem_direct3d9.dll. system error: %1 is not a valid win32 application. in d
My recollection is that FreeOrion 0.4.4 required a somewhat narrow version range for Ogre, so that's a point to double check. Also, please be aware that the current version of FreeOrion no longer uses Ogre (and has not for over 6 months now, though we're just now getting a new formal 'stable' release out). The FreeOrion 0.4.5 stable release should be ready within the next week or so (and perhaps needing an additional week or two to wend its way through debian to ubuntu), but in the meantime the 0.4.5 pre-release version that I see here in the Wily Werewolf package had only very minor issues if I recall correctly, so you might want to try it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1473709 Title: urgent message exception: OGRE EXCEPTION(7:internalerrorException): could not load dynamic library rendersystem_direct3d9.dll. system error: %1 is not a valid win32 application. in dynlib::load at ..\..\orgemain\src\ogredynlib.cpp (line109) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freeorion/+bug/1473709/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1490088] Re: 15.10: pvs/pvscan/pvdisplay not recognising PV metadata when lvmetad is running
Workaround is: service lvm2-lvmetad stop Problem is that lvmetad is designed to cache device metadata on discovery, which (should) come from specialised udevd rules. In the chroot there is no init/udevd running so even re-attaching the loop devices doesn't cause the PVs to be scanned. [Bug 1490091] [NEW] opencsg 1.4.0-1 FTBFS on armhf
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu the qt4-x11 package is configured using opengles2 in armhf in order to take advantage of accelerated drivers, thus qt4-qmake will enable opengles2 by default whenever opengl is required. Opencgs depends on glew, which is gl only and can't be build with gles2, thus we need to enforce that qt4-qmake uses only opengl and forcefuly disable opengles2. On Debian qt4-x11 is build using opengl, so there are no such issues. [Bug 84880] Re: firefox uploads files with wrong mimetype
This bug is still affects firefox 39 and 40. So, I created a simple upload page (http://npd.hol.es/upload.php) to make sure it's fixed or not. This upload script will only allow to upload .rar (Winrar) / .srt (Subtitle) files. But I get 'Invalid file format' error for every file I upload, even for supported formats. Also, I tried to upload using ubuntu default web browser, still get the same problem. Re: [Bug 1487168] Re: [Emulated AD1980 AC97 inside Virualbox 5.0, playback] volume slider problem
First, you dd not answer my question on whether or not I could attach the files directly to this email and whether you would be able to get them or do I need to upload them somewhere? Second, I want to clarify the Verbose Log you want. Is that the Log from Show Log CTRL+L? If so, I assume you want all of the available logs so you can see from installation to last boot? Third, I don't understand the last sentence starting with "the linux driver check" nor do I know what to make of the URL you sent. If the sentence is supposed to give me instructions to do something in relationship to the URL contents I need clarification. Otherwise it would be best for me to get you those screenshots so you can see what I am seeing. [Bug 796717] Re: e2fsck not fixing some fs errors
The badblocks program really isn't designed to catch maliciously designed "fake" flash FTL's. The "bit dropping pages" aren't necessarily constant, which means there might not be a set of block numbers that you can _put_ in the bad block inode. The bad block inode is a bad idea in these modern days anyway. It made sense back in the days of IDE disks, or its predecessors, which didn't do the bad block remapping in the drive firmware. These days, it just causes confusion and data loss by users who think it's a good idea. I'm of half a mind of deprecating and disabling badblocks and e2fsck -cc in the next major release of e2fsprogs, since more and more users are using it to their detriment, and while I can't legislate away stupid user tricks, I can remove tools that invite stupid user tricks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796717 Title: e2fsck not fixing some fs errors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/796717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1452601] Re: vivid container's networking.service fails on boot with signal=PIPE
IMHO, systemd seems to be the root of all evil. touch /etc/dnsmasq.conf has no effect. net4-dev# systemctl restart lxc-net net4-dev# systemctl status lxc-net ● lxc-net.service - LXC network bridge setup Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/lxc-net.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: active (exited) since Fri 2015-08-28 18:20:16 CDT; 9s ago Process: 15219 ExecStop=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/lxc/lxc-net stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 15223 ExecStart=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/lxc/lxc-net start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Main PID: 15223 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Shows lxc-net reported status of success + dnsmasq is never run. There's just so much wrong here... The entire /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/lxc/lxc-net script seems never to require a rethink. The problem is whoever wrote this imagined the Linux runtime environment works sensibly (no edge conditions). Many times they don't. A simple situation is if OOM (Out of Memory Killer) runs + scavenges/kill dnsmasq, then much of the "state" (files/directories) lxc-net depends on is out of sync... meaning there's no test for dnsmasq actually running. There's only a test for the lxcbr0 state files existing. This is an insufficient approach. I think the solution is to rewrite stop() to handle any edge condition, so lxc-net can recover normal errors without manual intervention. I'll take a stab at a rewrite + if my code isn't to embarrassing, I'll post it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1452601 Title: vivid container's networking.service fails on boot with signal=PIPE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1452601/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1490055] [NEW] Print dialog hangs when PPD file in /etc/cups/ppd/ is not world-readable
Public bug reported: It seems that the print dialog of the Chromium browser (the browser's own one with the preview) tries to read the PPD file (the file containing the printer's properties and the printer-specific user- settable options) in /etc/cups/ppd/ directly to be able to display the dialog with correct options and correct preview. The correct method (which is also actually used by the GTK print dialog) is to use the API of the CUPS library or IPP requests to the CUPS daemon. As it depends on the configuration of CUPS whether the PPD files in /etc/cups/ppd/ are world-readable and so readable for desktop apps run by ordinary users, it easily happens that the direct reading does not work. Therefore it is very important that print dialogs are properly done. What I am observing currently is that if the PPD of the selected printer is not world-readable the print dialog hangs and is not able to display the preview and the options. The user can only click the link to use the standard GTK dialog. See also https://www.cups.org/str.php?L4703 about the world-readability of PPD files. ** Affects: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1490055 Title: Print dialog hangs when PPD file in /etc/cups/ppd/ is not world- readable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1490055/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1487168] Re: [Emulated AD1980 AC97 inside Virualbox 5.0, playback] volume slider problem
I discovered that the Volume Slider problem exists even after the clean install of Virtual Box 5.0.2. I have screenshots that document the errant behavior. I am not used to submitting documentation for problems other than typing in descriptive text when prompted. Can I attach the screenshot files as attachments to one of these emails and will they be posted in your problem tracking application? If not, can you direct me to instructions on how to submit documentation? [Bug 1490038] [NEW] [i915_bpo] Adding DDI-E support caused a boot up gfx regression
Public bug reported: A boot up gfx regression (blank display) has been identified on a machine being certified caused by the recent addition of DDI-E support (VGA out). One patch of the series was still being debated at the time of the SRU cutoff date, but got included because it was on the set of commits that got tested on a number of systems. Diego: I wanted first to thank you for taking the time to investigate and attempt to help us resolve this issue. I tried to follow all the post to get this to work, but am very frustrated. Here is my Specific Card; 01:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Qualcomm Atheros Device [168c:0041] (rev 20) Because there seems to be various revisions to this card type, and different folders needed in /lib/firmware/ath10k It becomes difficult for me to follow each step. Along the way, if things become unclear. I think some people have made the right assumptions and guesses and got things right. While I am maybe others have not been able to get the right files in the right folder to make things work. Would it be possible to point me in the right direction, so I can get my specific card type to work properly. Every attempt so far still results in an unclaimed card. [Bug 796717] Re: e2fsck not fixing some fs errors
I am messing around with some fake 64GB microSD flash. It looks like there is 8GB of usable disk, so I made an 8GB partition and formatted it ext4. But after running "e2fsck -cck" on it several times, each time I write an 8G file of text, the end of it is all nulls. It seems like there are holes in the e2fsck or underlying badblocks. Those bit dropping pages should all be in the bad blocks inode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796717 Title: e2fsck not fixing some fs errors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/796717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1487696] Re: [Custom sound][content-hub] It is not possible to stop upload new sound
After discussing with Kenvandine, instead of copying the files from music-app over to the clock-app directory, we need to using hardlinks instead. [Bug 1462688] Re: ubi-timezone failed exit code 1 error when installing UbuntuStudio Wily-15.10 32bit version
Doesn't seem to make Xubuntu or Ubuntu-GNOME crash anymore (tested here in live mode); I haven't tested Kubuntu yet which appears like it would be a little more affected... We should still update the timezone files, but at least it's not crippling for the installer; so I'm reducing the priority to Medium. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical => Medium ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre (mathieu-tl) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1462688 Title: ubi-timezone failed exit code 1 error when installing UbuntuStudio Wily-15.10 32bit version To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1462688/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1490023] [NEW] arm64 ldconfig.real segfaults on some armhf libs
Public bug reported: I ran 'dpkg --add-architecture armhf' on my arm64 system so I could try to use an app that hasn't been ported to arm64 yet. After installing some armhf libs, ldconfig began to segfault. Specifically, it seems to trip over libsystemd.so.0 and libudev.so.1. It seems to process other armhf libs just fine. ** Affects: glibc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1490023 Title: arm64 ldconfig.real segfaults on some armhf libs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1490023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
