[Bug 1434396] Re: Xserver does not start or freezes with systemd + lightdm
I saw similar issue when adding a 2nd screen to my 15.10 systemd + lightdm system, which had been happy with single screen. Also happy when systemd not used, even with 2 displays Booted OK, but on resume from suspend (usually after going to lock screen) things were completely hung with per-second repeats of Dec 1 01:13:00 grunt kernel: [ 591.465083] nouveau E[compiz[5704]] fail ttm_va lidate Dec 1 01:13:00 grunt kernel: [ 591.465092] nouveau E[compiz[5704]] validating bo list Dec 1 01:13:00 grunt kernel: [ 591.465118] nouveau E[compiz[5704]] validate: -12 ... Nouveau is kernel driver, but the issue seemed to come from compiz paging. Yet compiz behavior is directed by its clients. When I noticed 'service lightdm status' had warnings about libpam_kwallet5, I looked at how that was used. Found I had no pam-kwallet5, because I don't use kde/plasma. I did have kwallet4, which gnome depends on. So what was bitching about kwallet5??? Still not sure where the missing dpkg dependency on pam-kwallet5 should go, but it's definately needed -- I added pam-kwallet5 over ssh session and the hung displays immediately came back to life. Lightdm's pam usage of kwallet5 is allegedly always optional, as in /etc/pam.d/lightdm-greeter:132:authoptionalpam_kwallet5.so /etc/pam.d/lightdm-greeter:543:session optionalpam_kwallet5.so auto_start /etc/pam.d/lightdm:223:authoptionalpam_kwallet5.so /etc/pam.d/lightdm:675:session optionalpam_kwallet5.so auto_start But some defect makes it mandatory in a multi-display systemd setup. Perhaps it's a sequential overspecification in restore logic revealed by multi-display and system event handling. Don't yet understand, but adding the allegedly optional pam-kwallet5 fixed it -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434396 Title: Xserver does not start or freezes with systemd + lightdm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lightdm/+bug/1434396/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The DHCP reply clearly has the wrong subnet; after that I see it starts transferring the file over tftp so not sure why it gets stuck. ** Attachment added: "failed_maas_pxe.pcap" https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1521618/+attachment/4529431/+files/failed_maas_pxe.pcap -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1521618 Title: wrong subnet in DHCP answer when multiple networks are present To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1521618/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1500242] Re: Bluetooth devices (Jabra BT250, Audi A3 car kit) can not be connected with BQ Aquaris 4.5
@Tony: Thanks! @Uranicus: A couple of questions: - First: For all things please follow https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingBluetooth so that we get some more detailed logs of what is going on in your system. That would be great and would allow us to debug this. - When you disconnect your Jabra headset and reconnect it what are the exacts steps? What does "the device will not be reconnected again." mean? You're just sitting there wand waiting for it to reconnect or did you press any buttons? Please describe the steps in detail. - "Instead of the headset symbol it shows a loudspeaker symbol": That could be something we can't change. This is encoded in the class-of- device field the device provides and if it is saying "I am a speaker" rather than a "I am a headset" we don't have any chance. The bluetoothctl command output asked for in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingBluetooth would be helpful for this. We already saw quite a few headsets having exactly this behavior. - "list with: incoming, missed, placed calls empty" is a missing feature. Duplicates https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1479442 - "not tested yet: 2nd SIM (I currently do not have a 2nd SIM)" will not work until https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/telephony- service/+bug/1418040 is fixes. Duplicte as well. I Will consider this bug only for the Jabra headset from now on. The issues for the A3 seems to have fixed and the outstanding things are just missing feature already tracked in other bugs linked above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500242 Title: Bluetooth devices (Jabra BT250, Audi A3 car kit) can not be connected with BQ Aquaris 4.5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1500242/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1481536] Re: "cryptsetup: unknown fstype, bad password or options?" error unlocking / decrypting LUKS volume at boot

The patch looks good to me, except I wonder > whether the call to udev_settle() between the two blkids should be moved > up to just after $cryptopen (see attached patch). Thoughts? Since there was not already a udev_settle call there, I assumed (but did not verify) that cryptsetup operates synchronously, and only returns once the device mapping has been set up. We should only add one there if someone confirms that cryptsetup *doesn't* block until the device is created. I believe the second udev_settle call that you removed is absolutely required /at that point/. Even if cryptsetup synchronously ensures the container device mapping has been set up, I don't think it ensures that the events for the child device have been handled yet - or even added to the event queue - so udev_settle could still return before vgchange -a has been run. But talking through this, I realize this also means that we still need to call vgchange ourselves, because otherwise there's still a race condition here even with udev_settle being called a little bit later. I'll prepare an updated patch, and test it. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world. Re: [Bug 1485228] Re: Video not working when streaming to mediaplayer-app
I'm not aware of what is media-hub or mediaplayer-app, but I only use the command "ubuntu-app-launch mediaplayer-app http://192.168.1.9:8081"; on the phone. I have tested a number of different codecs and mux options in the vlc command on the server. The combination in the bug report is the one I found to work best (#transcode{vcodec=h264,acodec=mp3,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:http{mux=ffmpeg{mux=flv},dst=:8081/}), the others I've tried does not even produce sound on the phone. 2015-12-03 0:15 GMT+01:00 Bill Filler <1485...@bugs.launchpad.net>: > this is a media-hub issue, not the app. Sounds like media-hub not > properly handling that codec. [Bug 1504445] Re: FocalTech touchpad stops working after suspend
I can confirm this issue on my Asus K501LX-NH52 on a fresh install (Xubuntu 14.04.3) from yesterday. Touchpad stops working after suspend, forced to use USB mouse for now. The Elantech driver is installed automatically when Ubuntu installs. Kernel 3.19.0-37 is installed as part of the first batch of updates. I tried installing Pilot6's ppa:hanipouspilot/focaltech-dkms driver without any change. dmidecode | grep Product\ Name Product Name: K501LX uname -r 3.19.0-37-generic dkms_status output: bbswitch, 0.7, 3.19.0-37-generic, x86_64: installed focaltech, 1.5~trusty1, 3.19.0-37-generic, x86_64: installed nvidia-355, 355.11, 3.19.0-37-generic, x86_64: installed lsmod | grep i8042 I guess I'll try this kernel patch as suggested for now, while this issue is still pending. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1504445 Title: FocalTech touchpad stops working after suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1504445/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1081952] Re: squid 3.1.19 external_acl_type fail
I think this bug is not valid. The config does not meet the documented requirement that the script interpreter be a *full path* to the sript interpreter, or helper binary. "php" is not the full path to the PHP executable. The helper is also closing its stdin communication socket to Squid before sending any response back. When Squid receives that termination signal, the helper state will be shutdown and ERR used in place of any pending lookups. ** Changed in: squid3 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1081952 Title: squid 3.1.19 external_acl_type fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid3/+bug/1081952/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1521931] Re: apparmor-profile-load returns 1 if apparmor not installed
** Description changed: + == + [ SRU Justification ] + 1. Impact: users with upstart and without apparmor have init jobs failing to start + 2. Test case: apt-get purge apparmor; apt-get install upstart-sysv; apt-get install rsyslog + rsyslog will fail to start + 3. Regression potential: we only exit 0 at the end of the script - nothing will change + in cases where apparmor is installed. + == + Environment: ubuntu 15.04 with upstart and without apparmor I tried to upgrade my ubuntu image to 15.10 and upgrading breaks on rsyslog: start: Job failed to start i checked dmesg and found this: [ 525.832963] init: rsyslog pre-start process (3078) [ 525.833007] init: rsyslog state changed from pre-starting to pre-start [ 525.834464] init: rsyslog pre-start process (3078) terminated with status 1 [ 525.834639] init: rsyslog goal changed from start to stop so i looked in pre-start: pre-start script /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load usr.sbin.rsyslogd end script and then in /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load: #!/bin/sh [ -x /lib/apparmor/profile-load ] && exec /lib/apparmor/profile-load "$@" in my case where is no "/lib/apparmor/profile-load" file, so this scripts return 1, which breaks pre-start and breaks rsyslog starting I guess that if /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load script checks if file exists, it should return 0 in case then file doesn't exist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1521931 Title: apparmor-profile-load returns 1 if apparmor not installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/init-system-helpers/+bug/1521931/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1470250] Re: [Hyper-V] Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Generation 2 SCSI Errors on VSS Based Backups
Thanks @f-bosch for your clarification in #62. So my understanding is: the (temporary) I/O downgrade during the period of backup might be caused by the fact the disk space has been almost used up (?) recently, but it also might be somehow related to the backup. Let's focus on the backup issue at present. Thanks @jsalisbury for the detailed test steps & script! I suppose the result in #66 implies a real issue, which can't be fixed by the patches mentioned in bug 1519917.
