[Bug 1501015] Re: ISST-LTE: Multipath disk is not automatically set as 1st boot device after installation
Of course. I had added a task for trusty just in case because I saw it could theoretically happen on 14.04; although it was unclear whether it actually did. I suppose the new multipath-tools might not help in this regard. Hi @mathieu-tl, > Does this bug also happen at all on 14.04? Yes. The test teams hit this recently, and the patch has been verified to fix the issue in 14.04.x too. [Bug 1533317] [NEW] Address bar does not get focus when adding a new tab
Public bug reported: Expected Result: When adding a new tab via the button or Ctrl + T, the address bar is automatically focused so that users can immediately type the URL. Current Result: When opening a new tab, the new tab page is shown with bookmarks and top sites but the user can't type immediately the URL they want to go to. This might be more appropriate in windowed mode since most likely a physical keyboard exists thus making it easier for the users to input the URL when adding a new tab. In staged mode, focusing the address bar will show the OSK which might not be desirable if the user wants to select from the bookmarks or top sites instead of inputting its own URL. ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1533317 Title: Address bar does not get focus when adding a new tab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1533317/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yeah, that's something I'm just not sure about. It seems like by allowing the unprivileged user to mount in the first place we're implicitly saying that it's okay to write these xattrs to the underlying fs based on checks which happen at mount time. [Bug 1533304] [NEW] Kernel Bug: IPv6 Neighbor Discovery
Public bug reported: We have discovered what appears to be a bug with the handling of ICMP6 router solicitations on tun interfaces in the Linux kernel. In particular, if an application is not immediately bound to the tun interface, router solicitations are never sent out of the interface. This issue can be replicated easily using the attached scripts. First, a tun interface is created with permissions for the local user, sudo is used so the script will prompt for the user password. $ bash rftun0_create.sh rftun0 created 16: rftun0: mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 500 link/none Then the interface is configured, given an address, and brought "up" however since there is no application bound to the interface yet there is no carrier. $ bash rftun0_up.sh net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.forwarding = 0 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.autoconf = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra_rt_info_max_plen = 128 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra_rtr_pref = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitation_delay = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitation_interval = 2 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitations = 200 rftun0 up 16: rftun0: mtu 1400 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN group default qlen 500 link/none inet6 fe80::600:4339:125f:760c/64 scope link valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever A simple client is then run to bind to the tun interface and read the first three packets. If things are going well we should see 3 router solicitations, however we instead see no traffic. $ python simple_tun_client.py Timed out... Timed out... Timed out... If we bring the interface down and try again with no delay between bringing the interface up and binding the application we see things work as expected. $ bash rftun0_down.sh rftun0 down 16: rftun0: mtu 1400 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN group default qlen 500 link/none $ bash rftun0_up.sh && python simple_tun_client.py net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.forwarding = 0 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.autoconf = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra_rt_info_max_plen = 128 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra_rtr_pref = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitation_delay = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitation_interval = 2 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitations = 200 rftun0 up 16: rftun0: mtu 1400 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN group default qlen 500 link/none inet6 fe80::600:1512:6243:38fe/64 scope link valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever Read packet from tunnel. 48 bytes. 60083afffe8006001512624338feff0200028500c6e3 Read packet from tunnel. 48 bytes. 60083afffe8006001512624338feff0200028500c6e3 Read packet from tunnel. 48 bytes. 60083afffe8006001512624338feff0200028500c6e3 Furthermore, I can rerun the simple client and continue to receive router solicitations. Attempting the same procedure again with a small delay replicates the original issue. Notice the sleep statement in between the rftun0_up script and the simple tun client. $ bash rftun0_down.sh rftun0 down 16: rftun0: mtu 1400 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN group default qlen 500 link/none $ bash rftun0_up.sh && sleep 5 && python simple_tun_client.py net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.forwarding = 0 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.autoconf = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra_rt_info_max_plen = 128 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.accept_ra_rtr_pref = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitation_delay = 1 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitation_interval = 2 net.ipv6.conf.rftun0.router_solicitations = 200 rftun0 up 16: rftun0: mtu 1400 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN group default qlen 500 link/none inet6 fe80::600:25f2:67d0:37fc/64 scope link valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever Timed out... Timed out... Timed out... This test can be repeated as necessary. [Bug 1261191] Re: indicator-datetime list evolution calendar all day event a day before actual date of event
The issue where "Tomorrow 00:00" is displayed instead of "Tomorrow" can be fixed by changing src/utils.c generate_full_format_string_at_time() const gboolean full_day = then_end && (g_date_time_difference(then_end, then) >= G_TIME_SPAN_DAY); to const gboolean full_day = then_end && (g_date_time_difference(then_end, then) >= G_TIME_SPAN_DAY || g_date_time_difference(then_end, then) == 0); seems like the day event don't have a DTEND and that the code consider that they start and end at the same time. [Bug 1533295] Re: Wrong result when comparing xor and int
This is a standard gotcha in C operator precedence: == has higher precedence than ^, and so your expression is parsed as 3 ^ (1 == 1), which is indeed non-zero. To fix it, use explicit parentheses as follows: (3 ^ 1) == 1. It would perhaps be nice if the C language had been defined differently (Wikipedia mentions this, for instance: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operators_in_C_and_C%2B%2B#Criticism_of_bitwise_and_equality_operators_precedence), but we're stuck with it now, and GCC certainly cannot arbitrarily decide to change the language's operator precedence. ** Changed in: gcc-4.8 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1533295 Title: Wrong result when comparing xor and int To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-4.8/+bug/1533295/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am working on making these compatible, but for now they aren't and will not be till 15.08. There's nothing that can make it compatible. facebook-im.service will not be installed from 15.04.1 as facebook chat support is deprecated. Simply renaming all the files is also not a good option, because if you'll have both packages installed, you will have duplicated entries, each doing different things. [Bug 1528651] Re: Code and functional issues with new download in browser feature
** Description changed: The new "download in browser" feature just landed. This works nicely, but there are a few remaining (mostly minor) issues that need to be addressed now. I’m filing this bug to track them all, we may want to break it up in several bugs if/where relevant. Code issues: ∘ encapsulation broken in DownloadHandler.qml with references to 'downloadsModel' ∘ encapsulation broken in DownloadDelegate.qml with references to 'downloadManager' ∘ missing autopilot tests for file upload, picking webbrowser-app (including multiple files) ∘ showDownloadsPage() doesn’t make much sense on WebViewImpl, should be an internal function ∘ contentHandlerLoader should have "asynchronous: true" ∘ use default PageHeader from UITK instead of custom BrowserPageHeader? ∘ increase test coverage for the DownloadsModel C++ class ∘ for consistency, downloadsContainer should be made a Loader, as done in https://code.launchpad.net/~osomon/webbrowser-app/keyboard-shortcuts-focus-fixes/+merge/280083 ∘ in Downloader.qml and Browser.qml, calls to Component.createObject() should pass the properties as second parameter, instead of setting them afterwards ∘ DownloadsModel should probably be made a singleton type, like HistoryModel and BookmarksModel ∘ includes are not ordered alphabetically in downloads-model.cpp ∘ in DownloadsModel::moveToDownloads(), the [if (QFile::exists(destination))] statement is useless, the do…while loop is enough Functional issues: ∘ the "No Downloads available" message is confusing in picker mode, it would be clearer if it made it explicit that no download matching the expected file type is available ∘ edit mode in the downloads page should be disabled if the list is empty ∘ while in edit mode in the downloads page, the 'delete' icon should probably be disabled if no download is selected (it currently is enabled and exits select mode) ∘ save link from context menu doesn’t work great with links to other pages: no mime type is displayed (and sometimes even no title), and then the page is saved without an html extension, it can be viewed with the document viewer, but this displays the source of the page, it doesn’t render it (we may need special casing for HTML files in the download folder to open them directly in the browser) ∘ (possibly a bug in the UITK?) upload form that accepts only one file, can end up selecting two: select first, then second, then first again, then second again, and both are selected ∘ when downloading an image to the gallery, I’m seeing this message in the log: Failed moving file from "/home/phablet/.cache/com.ubuntu.gallery/HubIncoming/2/capture2.png" to "/home/phablet/Downloads/capture2.png" ∘ on desktop if I uninstall qtdeclarative5-ubuntu-download-manager0.1, the "Downloads" entry is not visible in the drawer menu, as expected, however the Ctrl+J shortcut still opens the downloads view; the shortcut should be enabled conditionally + ∘ click/touch events go through the Downloads page header to items below it, so in narrow mode if one clicks/taps in the right place, they can focus the address bar (thus summoning the OSK) or open the drawer menu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1528651 Title: Code and functional issues with new download in browser feature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1528651/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1533296] [NEW] Can't open 7digital albums if they're downloaded internally
Public bug reported: Currently we have a special case for 7digital albums when sent directly to the music app from a download, so that they can be unzipped as part of the download process. However this isn't possible when albums are downloaded directly into the browser and then opened. I've filled this against the webbrowser to keep track of it, however the correct solution might be to create a new app that can receive zip files (and then send their contents on via content-hub to other apps), and so solve the general case instead of just having a special solution for 7digital. ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1533296 Title: Can't open 7digital albums if they're downloaded internally To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1533296/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

in ovl_clear_empty(), the opaque bit is set on the dir in workingdir in ovl_create_over_whiteout() (the case we're currently looking at) it is also being set in the working dir. in ovl_rename2(), it is set in two places, on the upper dentries for both the old and new. [Bug 1517625] Re: Typo in hooks/biosdevname
** Description changed: + SRU Information + --- + This just fixes an obvious typo. + In /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/biosdevname, the line: cp -p /etc/udev/rules.d/$RUlES $DESTDIR/lib/udev/rules.d/ the variable $RUlES needs to be changed to $RULES (capital "L", not lower case). [Bug 1323217] Re: Gnome3 slow when when pressing for the first time after reboot
Confirming here also. One of my systems is an older Dell Optiplex GX280 but sup'd up with 4GB DDR2 400MHz, 120GB SSD, Pentium 4 3.0GHz (SL9KG) 65W. All of the symptoms described by Neumann match my experience on this unit. Further, I've also got an older AMD dual core which exhibits the same. What we probably want to do is pre-cache during startup (with a low nice value) whatever needs to be done for the gnome activities window to increase the chances that when the user first opens "Activities" (either by clicking or pressing SUPER key), that things will be smoother. (Obviously if the system loads into gnome and the user tries to load activities before we've finished the caching operation they won't be better off) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1323217 Title: Gnome3 slow when when pressing for the first time after reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1323217/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1531747] Re: overlay: mkdir fails if directory exists in lowerdir in a user namespace
Quoting Seth Forshee (seth.forshee...@canonical.com): > I don't know why #2 is that much grosser than what's there now. It's I didn't mean gross as in eeuw, I meant not fine-grained enough. Because the capability will apply to inode permissions checks, and we only want it to be used for the check authorizing the writing of the trusted.overlay.opaque xattr. > already only taking the cap for setting the xattr, and taking > CAP_SYS_ADMIN in init_user_ns seems to be what it's really wanting to do Maybe - that's what I'm not sure about. As you said earlier, in the upstream code only an admin can do the actual mount. The fact that an unpriv user can create the mount may change assumptions about the underlying fs's. > there. The difference now though is that before that capability would > have been required to do the mount and now it isn't. Right. > If we were to use ns_capable, which namespace do we use? I don't know. We're almost better off shipping a new version of vfs_xattr() which is only for use by kernel writers. If we had your patch we could maybe check against the sb->user_ns? > current_user_ns?
