[Bug 1543514] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2016-02-11 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From roes...@de.ibm.com 2016-02-11 12:11 EDT---
(In reply to comment #4)

I just reproduced the issue and attached the log files for that.

I created one partition on the DASD and installed LVM on that using
Manual partitioning. The installation fails at "Install the ZIPL boot
loader on a hard disk", as described.

[Bug 1544543] Re: org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.MediaHub player is exposed at startup, making the indicator show a player that it's not fully functional

2016-02-11 Thread Jim Hodapp
After having a discussion with the indicator team, the proposal is to
make sure that media-hub exports a generic default string for the case
when there is no current player. This happens directly after a fresh
bootup. In this case, indicator-sound can simply hide itself until a
player is loaded.

Also, once the functionality that sets the current player is changed
from a UI focus-based approach to a last-played approach, media-hub will
more accurately export the correct current player over MPRIS to
indicator-sound. This is a separate bug:

[Bug 1538783] Re: sync with debian or otherwise drop gst0.10 depends

2016-02-11 Thread Timo Jyrinki
Hmmm. Unassigning. I'm hitting a builder automated failure generation
after a successful build:

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/237991997/buildlog_ubuntu-xenial-
amd64.gcompris_15.02-1.1ubuntu1_BUILDING.txt.gz

---
Function `realpath' implicitly converted to pointer at gstreamer.c:239

Our automated build log filter detected the problem(s) above that will
likely cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of
a pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64.

This is often due to a missing function prototype definition.

Since use of implicitly converted pointers is always fatal to the application
on ia64, they are errors. Please correct them for your next upload.

More information can be found at:
http://wiki.debian.org/ImplicitPointerConversions
---

So even though the upload would be ready, it unfortunately cannot be
done without investigating this issue :(

The upload would be otherwise ready at: dget https://launchpad.net

[Bug 1538775] Re: multipath-tools-boot relies on scsi_wait_scan module, fails multipath setup

2016-02-11 Thread Stuart Hopkins
Haven't had a chance to raise it yet (having to use the environment for
something else atm so I wouldn't be able to capture logs), though plan
to do it next week once the environment is free.

Some thoughts around potential workarounds/fixes:
- Boot option (similar to rootwait/rootdelay) to impose a sleep period (this
way its optional and flexible)
- Package to go alongside multipath-boot that adds a new script (which in turn
waits), and executes before multipathd
- Getting udev to force a scan of the SCSI bus and wait for it to finish (i.e.
indicate there is nothing new)
- Figuring out why the qla2xxx driver doesn't seem to like me...

[Bug 1543624] Re: Please update nginx in Xenial to 1.9.11

2016-02-11 Thread Thomas Ward
nginx 1.9.11-0ubuntu1.1~ppa0 in the PPA includes the following upstream
code patch for the nginx-lua module from OpenResty:

https://github.com/openresty/lua-nginx-
module/commit/64866bcf4d3c1d9f5990bb43507118d50904cc52.patch

This addresses the FTBFS introduced by the changes to NGINX 1.9.11
involving the udp connection item inside of NGINX.

--

This successfully builds on all arches available to my build tests PPA
(amd64 i386 arm64 armhf ppc64el), and correctly operates.

All other Ubuntu specific changes from the merge remain in place. I am
planning to upload 1.9.11-0ubuntu1, with an updated changelog to include
the upstream patch from OpenResty to fix the FTBFS, within the next
several hours, unless Debian provides an upload that can be merged here,
first.

[Bug 1544546] Re: after upgrade to 16.04 network drive not working; had to manually install cifs-util to get the drive to work

2016-02-11 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1544546/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Masiosare, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-
support/product/inspiron-15-7537/drivers/advanced an update to your
computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (A13). If you update to
this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it
change anything?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status Confirmed. If it's not reproducible, please
mark this as Invalid.

"$(filter pattern…,text)

[Bug 1541629] Re: Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190 Won't Boot linux-image-3.13.0-77-generic 3.13.0-77.121

2016-02-11 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Lonnie Lee Best, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better.

In order to allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue, at your
earliest convenience, could you please test the latest upstream kernel
available from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D ? Please
keep in mind the following:
1) The one to test is at the very top line at the top of the page (not the
daily folder).
2) The release names are irrelevant.
3) The folder time stamps aren't indicative of when the kernel actually was
released upstream.
4) Install instructions are available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds .

If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may:
1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there.
2) Backup, or clone the primary install.

If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't
boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue
to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue.
Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please
add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is
the release candidate number if it exists.

If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of
kernel-bug-exists-upstream.

Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this
report's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1540668] Re: kernel BUG at /build/linux-6sN8Mw/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:10243!

2016-02-11 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
viktor, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2140534 an
update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (2.20).
If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status Confirmed. If it's not reproducible, please
mark this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1331298] Re: apt-get sugests to remove needed packages on --autoremove

2016-02-11 Thread Jarno Suni
Can you still reproduce the issue? Did you have some kernels installed
that had greater version than the one that linux-image-generic depends
on?

Please attach the output of
dpkg -l 'linux*' | grep ^ii
after this happens.

Maybe you had set package linux-generic as automatically installed?
Check that by
apt-mark showmanual linux-generic
If it prints the package name, linux-generic is manually installed, thus
protecting linux-headers-generic and linux-image-generic from being
automatically removed.

[Bug 1544632] [NEW] sys:1: PyGIWarning

Getting this warnings in all the reports using ubuntu-bug binary:

sys:1: PyGIWarning: GdkX11 was imported without specifying a version first. Use
gi.require_version('GdkX11', '3.0') before import to ensure that the right

It seems use this as invokation:

/usr/share/apport/apport-gtk apport

It seems a simple fix add in /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk the lines:

gi.require_version('GdkX11', '3.0')

Also, once the rating and review is submitted and the UI refreshes, it
would be desirable that we show 'your just published' review rather that
the into at the top, so the user doesn't have to scroll down to see it.
Could we set the screen to that reviews area after refresh?

[Bug 1538775] Re: multipath-tools-boot relies on scsi_wait_scan module, fails multipath setup

2016-02-11 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
FWIW, it's not so much as a flat no for fixing this with a sleep as that
any possible value for sleep (unless it's unreasonably high) will still
fail for some people... and high values are just inconvenient since they
slow the boot down. It's generally just not a very useful general fix,
even if it works locally as a workaround.

Stuart, did you file a new bug for the actual scan wait process for
devices?

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-hc17yTx-
_Z0gXEAzmpcZfO7GJI86Wh7ko6ujcKtXyg/edit#slide=id.p

Desired behaviour:

- Title of the Rating & review widget to be same size as the others (i.e.:
“Info”, “Updates”) and sizes of stars must be x1.5 current size. Contact me for
visual specs.
- Once user taps/clicks on the stars to give a rating, the "Add a review" input
field will appear, right below, as part as the same widget / area. The ‘Send’
button will remain disabled until user taps/clicks on it to write a review.
- Once user starts typing, the button will change state to active and the
rating and review can be submitted.
- OSK behaviour should remain as per current implementation.
- Rating and review display widget should remain as per current implementation.

[Bug 1544628] [NEW] lookup('template', ...) fails after upgrading to ansible 2

2016-02-11 Thread George Shuklin
Public bug reported:

After upgrading from ansible 1.9 to ansible 2, existing playbook started
to fail:

fatal: [dev-1]: FAILED! => {"failed": true, "msg": "ERROR! the template
file domain.xml.j2 could not be found for the lookup"}

configure-vm/tasks/main.yml
playbook:
- name: Creating VM
  virt: command=define guest={{hostname}} xml="{{lookup('template',
'domain.xml.j2')}}"
  delegate_to: '{{hypervisor}}'

There is a template in configure-vm/files/domain.xml.j2

site.yml:

- hosts: vms
  gather_facts: no
  vars:
hypervisor: dev-hyper

[Bug 1544477] Re: No sound notification for new SMS (Ubuntu Touch)

2016-02-11 Thread Anupam
Thanks Pat McGowan (pat-mcgowan), other sounds (incoming call, music player,
youtube on browser, notification from telegram, gmail etc.) were playing fine
except the incoming SMS notification. Then I restarted the device and now sound
notification for incoming SMS works again!
But I found something a bit abnormal. During these sound alerts (I tried SMS
and Telegram for now), a very mild crackling noise is heard for a second (or a
fraction of a second) before and after the actual alert tune. Something like
Bug #1479758 . I don't remember hearing this noise previously.

+ Original bug description:
+
Filing this on ubuntu/neutron package, as neutron itself is EOL'd for
  Icehouse.

FYI this is a nonHA icehouse/trusty deploy using serverteam's juju
  charms.

On one of our production environments with a rather high rate of API
calls, (sp for transient VMs from CI), we frequently get neutron OVS
breakage on compute nodes¹, which we've been able to more or less
correlate with the following alike errors at /var/log/neutron
  /openvswitch-agent.log:

  2016-01-07 06:33:48.917 18357 TRACE neutron.openstack.common.rpc.amqp File
"/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/neutron/plugins/openvswitch/agent/ovs_neutron_agent.py",
 line 399, in _del_fdb_flow
  2016-01-07 06:33:48.917 18357 TRACE neutron.openstack.common.rpc.amqp
lvm.tun_ofports.remove(ofport)
  2016-01-07 06:33:48.917 18357 TRACE neutron.openstack.common.rpc.amqp
KeyError: '13'

Detailed log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/14431656/ - note the same time of
occurrence on the 3 diff compute nodes shown there.

¹ What we then observe are missing are missing tun_ids from
- ovs-ofctl dump-flows br-tun
+   ovs-ofctl dump-flows br-tun
ie provider:segmentation_id not present at the compute node for a VM with a
neutron network that has it.

Afaics this had been fixed upstream at ( lp#1421105 ):

https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/neutron/commit/?id=841b2f58f375df53b380cf5796bb31c82cd09260
, please consider backporting it to Icehouse, it's a pretty trivial fix.

[Bug 1544621] [NEW] When there is a broken dependency, apt-get is unable to purge/remove any other package than the one(s) that has broken dependency

2016-02-11 Thread Jarno Suni
Public bug reported:

An example, when this bug is a problem, is when /boot becomes full
during kernel update. A meta kernel package such as linux-image-generic
becomes broken, but the suggested command "sudo apt-get -f install" can
not fix the problem. Freeing space by removing an older kernel packages
by "apt-get purge" does not work either. A workaround is to use "dpkg
--purge", but couldn't purging work by apt-get, too?

[Bug 1544612] Re: Missing fix for 1299975 claimed to be in pm-utils (1.4.1-13ubuntu0.1)

2016-02-11 Thread Dirk F
NB The mod identified in the line from the automated package report
Package: pm-utils 1.4.1-13ubuntu0.1 [modified:
usr/lib/pm-utils/pm-functions]
arises from my manually applied fix for
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52572.

It would be good to get that into the repos too.

[Bug 1544615] [NEW] Can not install, uninstall and install again an app (wihtout rebooting)

2016-02-11 Thread Albert Astals Cid
Public bug reported:

Today's rc-proposed

How to reproduce:
 * Have a phone where Dekko is not installed (i guess any other would work, but
i'm using Dekko)
 * reboot the phone
 * Go to the apps scope
 * Press on the Ubuntu store icon at the bottom
 * Press on the Dekko icon
 * Press the install button
 * Wait for it to install
 * Press the uninstall button
 * Press the confirm button
 * You're back to the dekko preview with the progress at 0% so you can't
install it anymore unless you reboot

This seems related or a regression of
