[Bug 1579130] Re: need to support systemd.link renaming of devices in container
** Description changed: We're interested in supporting network configuration of lxc containers via maas/cloud-init yaml format. The end goal is to do: $ lxc init xenial x1 $ ncpath=/var/lib/cloud/seed/nocloud-net/network-config $ sudo tee /var/lib/lxd/containers/x1/rootfs/$ncpath < into 'eth0'). + b.) systemd.link does not rename devices that have been renamed previously, and all lxd instance devices are renamed (from the kernel returned veth into 'eth0'). That is implemented by check of /sys/devices/virtual/net/eth0/name_assign_type . Value of 4 means renamed. c.) systemd.link will not attempt to rename a device that does not have a driver. To see that run: udevadm test-builtin net_setup_link /sys/class/net/eth0 http://paste.ubuntu.com/16261974/ To force these systemd.link files to run in spite of 'b' on kvm guests or bare metal, we have found that unbind and rebind of the device will clear the state and rename would occur. that can be done as shown in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud- init/+bug/1577844/comments/3 but since there is no 'driver' we cannot unbind and rebind veth devices. Ultimately, we want to allow cloud-init to configure the system once and then let renaming on reboots not require involvement of cloud-init. And at the moment the ideal way to affect that would be through systemd.link files such as /etc/systemd/network/50-cloud-init-foo2.link. [Bug 1568435] Re: Tor cannot start `obfs4proxy` ('Operation not permitted')
I confirm the suggested changes fix the issue for me. Note: the second path is wrong, correct path is /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/tor ( the final `s` in `abstractions` is missed) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568435 Title: Tor cannot start `obfs4proxy` ('Operation not permitted') To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tor/+bug/1568435/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1585797] Re: Distinguish between input method "XIM" and "none"
On 2016-05-27 00:45, Brian Murray wrote: > I don't know if the order of inputMethods matters, but none will > always be at the end with the following change. It only affects the order in the GUI selector, and making "none" as the last showed item was intentional. (Could have been first instead... Matter of taste, I suppose.) I installed language-selector-{common,gnome} 0.165.3 from xenial- proposed, and can confirm the desired change compared to the test case, i.e. the actually effective input method "none" is now showed by default on a non-CJKV installation of Ubuntu MATE, and "XIM" is available as a separate option. @Martin: I tested on MATE. This is not only a MATE issue, but the combination of "auto" (due to the fix of bug #1550325) and the absence of IBus added that extra dimension. ** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585797 Title: Distinguish between input method "XIM" and "none" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-selector/+bug/1585797/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1586215] [NEW] libc++ does not throw exceptions as expected
Public bug reported: Tried compiling a very simple c++ program: #include #include int main() { try { std::string x; char z = x.at(2); std::cout << z << std::endl; } catch (...) { } return 0; } clang++ -stdlib=libc++ -Wall -Werror ./temp.cpp -o output When run, it asserts: ./output output: ../../libcxx/include/string:1175: void std::__1::__basic_string_common::__throw_out_of_range() const: Assertion `!"basic_string out_of_range"' failed. [1]27852 abort (core dumped) ./output Expected behaviour is no assert, and program just returns. (This is the behaviour if -stdlib=libc++ is omitted). I believe this is similar to https://github.com/kripken/emscripten/issues/4053, ie. libcxxabi has compiled strings without exceptions, and that is the version being linked.
