[Bug 1291371] Re: thinkpad screen dims after unplugging external display, and won't re-brighten without leaving X
I'm using 14.04 on an HP ProBook 6460b. I have the same issue. It used to dim the laptop screen when the monitor is unplugged. Then plugging it in again and removing it brought the controls back. [Bug 1189721] Re: Ralink RT3290 doesn't have a bluetooth driver
@Alexandre Magno What did you mean by "it's not prepared with dkms"? Further steps are necessary besides compiling it with dkms with the current kernel? As someone else said before this problem has almost no importance in the Linux community. I wonder if Arch's users are able to send/receive files using this network card since there's a patch made specifically for Arch's kernel. [Bug 1598522] [NEW] openvpn starts before network is up in 16.04 this breaks networking in clouds
Public bug reported: Hi, there is a problem in 16.04(which comes with systemd) openvpn-2.3.10-1ubuntu2: 1)openvpn starts before physical interfaces are up 2)and because of this cloud-init(configuration script for all clouds: AWS, gcloud, azure etc) thinks that tun0 is the main interface(few syslog lines are attached). 3) cloud-init then tries to manage tun0 via /etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg like: auto tun0 iface tun0 inet dhcp 4) which obviously results in a failure to bring up networking: dhclient[818]: Unsupported device type 65534 for "tun0" and localhost systemd[1]: networking.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE Because of this, in Ubuntu 16.04 on AWS(I actually checked on AWS) if you install and configure openvpn it works well before reboot, and after reboot instance is not reachable via network. There are 2 possible solutions: fix cloud-init, however, if you think about it, it just iterates through interfaces and it has to take interfaces that are already UP(or default to eth0 if nothing is up). Because, most likely, those interfaces are important. The second way is to start openvpn after networking is configured and up. I think this way makes more sens(hence creating this report in openvpn package). It is unlikely that you'll be able to use tunnels before physical network is UP, anyway. I suggest adding After=networking.service into [Unit] section /lib/systemd/system/openvpn@.service ** Affects: openvpn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "from_syslog.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598522/+attachment/4694513/+files/from_syslog.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598522 Title: openvpn starts before network is up in 16.04 this breaks networking in clouds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvpn/+bug/1598522/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1598515] [NEW] file-roller 3.16.5 in ubuntu 16.04 fails to open older zip files
Public bug reported: I have a website that I periodically submit to a website spider to index all the pertinent words in the website. I do this every time I make a significant update to the website. When the website has been spidered, I retrieve a report which is in a .zip file. I did this today, and I opened the .zip file with file-roller, and checked it, and it was OK. I then decided to compare it to one of the previous reports, and to my surprise, file-roller was unable to open the older .zip files, saying that they are not present in the directory. I tried accessing the same files with file-roller 3.10 on another computer running Ubuntu 14.04 (the drive is shared between the computers), and was able to access both the older files, and the one created today. So there appears to be a problem with file-roller 3.16.5. file-roller: Installed: 3.16.5-0ubuntu1.1 Candidate: 3.16.5-0ubuntu1.1 Version table: *** 3.16.5-0ubuntu1.1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.16.4-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages ** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598515 Title: file-roller 3.16.5 in ubuntu 16.04 fails to open older zip files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-roller/+bug/1598515/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1571564] Re: Unable to install Kubuntu 16.04
I can confirm this is related to llvm bug (at least in my case) and seems to happen on i7 skylake (6th generation). I have 16.04 live image installed on usb and had the same problem - illegal instruction in plasma. I managed to solve this simply by updating libllvm3.8 from 1:3.8-2ubuntu1 to 1:3.8-2ubuntu3 (i had persistent storage enabled on the usb). Once 16.04.1 iso is out, this will probably be resolved as it should (hopefully) contain updated version of libllvm. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1571564 Title: Unable to install Kubuntu 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-meta/+bug/1571564/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hadid, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://www.toshiba.co.uk/support/bios/ an update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated BIOS is available (2.00). For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. Also, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status New. I can confirm that this does not work in ubuntu mate 16.04 with a custom keyboard (see http://www.ubuntu4u.com/howtos/how-to-type-romanized-pali-and-sanskrit-in-ubuntu-12041210) It works in terminal only. Burmese seems to work. The preferences for that particular setting does not work. [Bug 1598504] [NEW] [XPS 15 9550, Realtek ALC3266, Speaker, Internal] Cannot select internal speakers with headphone connected
Public bug reported: When the headphone is connected, the System Settings->Sound shows two outputs "Headphones" and "Speakers. Built-in Audio". Selecting "Speakers. Built-in Audio" just mutes all sound. When disconnecting the headphones, everything works fine though. A possible solution could be to disallow that option when headphones are connected. I've tried to install "oem-audio-hda-daily- dkms_0.201607020504-ubuntu16.04.1_all.deb" with same results. [Bug 1588033] Re: System keeps crashing
mikey_585, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5118#bios an update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated BIOS is available (F8). When you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate how does this improve the situation? If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. Thank you for your help. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-f8 ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1588033 Title: System keeps crashing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1588033/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
