[Bug 1607217] Re: QSysInfo doesn't work properly with AppArmor confinement
QSystemInfo has quite a few areas in the system it tries to access information from, read only. (We've tried hard to keep it read only access) Just adding AppArmor to this to hopefully get some comment about this. I could come up with a policy that would allow QSystemInfo to work, but it would be up to the security guys to decide whether they would allow it. [Bug 1088081] Re: udev rules make it impossible to deactivate lvm volume group with vgchange -an
I also see this race condition happen often when I open up and manipulate nested LVM devices. For example, an LV is partitioned and one of the partitions inside is a PV. A kpartx -a is run to activate the partitions, vgimportclone is run to rename the VG inside that nested PV, and as MatthewParslow said above the old nested VG device nodes are always left behind. After cleaning those up manually, a sequence of two commands is run, vgchange -a n on the renamed VG and kpartx -d on the top-level LV. It usually works (it wins the race with udev vgchange -a y), but sometimes it doesn't. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1088081 Title: udev rules make it impossible to deactivate lvm volume group with vgchange -an To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lvm2/+bug/1088081/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi! I have recently bought ubuntu pc stick PCG02U from MeLE, and struggling with it since then. It have z3735f atom processor and 32G eMMC drive. Originally it was going with ubuntu desktop 14.04 and 3.16 kernel, but it had problems with some sporadic eMMC errors under high drive load. Then I have upgraded it to ubuntu 14.04.4 with 3.19 kernel, and eMMC errors seems to be gone (not sure though), but now I faced freezes. It have never freezed while being in use, but after I leave it running for about 6 hours or more, I always find is freezed then. Monitor doesn't show any signal (guess cause it gets freezed in sleep) and no reaction on keyboard and mouse options. after reboot I see: [ 7110.326234] RTL8723BS: nolinked power save enter [ 7171.775617] RTL8723BS: nolinked power save leave [ 7173.461854] RTL8723BS: nolinked power save enter [ 7234.832616] RTL8723BS: nolinked power save leave etc stops at some point of time, and normal boot messages then in kernel.log Have tested 16.04 with original kernel then, and with upgraded to 4.7.0 kernel, all the same. Trying intel_idle.max_cstate=1 option now but not much time have passed to see wether it helped. [Bug 1593648] Re: Reset of all GTK themes and icon packs upon toggle of High Contrast ON/OFF setting.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. [Bug 1604704] Re: [regression] GTK apps hang for a long time on start-up under Xmir (and less under native Mir) failing to find dbus
Confirmed in all cases it's just that the X11/Xmir apps can't detect the session bus address of the login (which is on a different TTY BTW). Forcing DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS solves the problem. [Bug 1313539] Re: [DisplayPort] monitor shows black screen and "no input signal" after turning the monitor off and on manually
I'm also experiencing this problem. I had the following configuration: MacbookPro 8,1 13" laptop (2011) Dell UltraSharp U2715H LED monitor Ubuntu 14.04 Mini-Displayport (computer) to Displayport (monitor) connector I had those annoying 2-3 second unpredictable intermittent blanks, driving me crazy. I used to have the problem with a Dell 24in monitor 2408WFP as well (same computer). I figured it was something to do with the monitor and bought the new monitor (since we needed a second one anyhow). But the problem persisted with the U2715H. I figured it might be something to do with the computer (anecdotally it seemed to occur more often when it heats up, though I'm not certain). I needed to change that old computer anyhow, so I bought an Intel NUC to replace the laptop. New configuration: Intel NUC NUC6i5SYH w/ 32GM of RAM Dell UltraSharp U2715H LED monitor Ubuntu 16.04 Mini-Displayport (computer) to Displayport (monitor) connector (same cable). Lo and behold... same problem! All that leaves is - the cable, or - the software. Now I just got myself an HDMI to HDMI cable to the Intel NUC. Just began testing. Hopefully the problem will be gone. Happy to test again later if someone fixes the bug--contact me -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313539 Title: [DisplayPort] monitor shows black screen and "no input signal" after turning the monitor off and on manually To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1313539/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
