[Bug 1556459] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad W530] Regression: cannot set up 3 display configuration any more (Optimus)

2016-10-14 Thread Timo Aaltonen
the regression is probably caused by the newer xserver (1.17.x ->
1.18.x)

this is worth filing upstream, and letting nvidia know about it

[Bug 1313539] Re: [DisplayPort] monitor shows black screen and "no input signal" after turning the monitor off and on manually

2016-10-14 Thread Dejan
Hi,

When is this going to be fixed?
I am planning to by new monitor and new monitors only have displayport or hdmi.
My laptop only has displayport and it will not work. BTW, I tested my laptop
with several monitors through displayport and none is working.
Laptop: HP Zbook with Intel and NVidia graphics on Ubuntu 16.04 latest.
Using Intel graphics, since NVidia doesn't work correctly on boot (another
bug...)

[Bug 1624540] Re: please have lxd recommend zfs

2016-10-14 Thread Richard Laager
The pools are imported by either zfs-import-scan.service or zfs-import-
cache.service. (Which service runs depends on whether
/etc/zfs/zpool.cache exists.) They both call `zpool import -a` plus some
other arguments. In other words, `zpool import -a` is being run
unconditionally, whether pools exist or not.

It would be possible to throw a wrapper script around `zpool import` and
run that from those services instead. It could then start zed.service if
and only if a pool exists. I'm not sure if this is the best solution,
but at first glance, it seems like it would work.

[Bug 224133] Re: Sidewinder Module does not detect with power

2016-10-14 Thread Olivier Godart
No reason to mark this as "invalid". The bug is real, affects people, and a
valid patch was proposed (which is trivial).
Please include the patched module in futures versions the the kernel, otherwise
we need to recompile the whole thing every time.

[Bug 1618428] Re: asp.net templates are not visible or can't be installed in monodevelop in Ubuntu 16.04

2016-10-14 Thread Peder Chr . Nørgaard
I am happy to see that the importance of this bug has been upgraded.

I have tested what I wrote about earlier - the removal of the patch
.pc/applied_patches/dont_bundle_aspnet_assemblies.patch. It seems
to solve the problem - the monodevelop .deb I built from the modified
source actually allows debugging of asp.net applications.

But again, as I mentioned - the patch is probably there for a reason,
and I cannot safely claim that its removal does not have any negative
side effects elsewhere in the package.

[Bug 1633348] [NEW] iwlwifi brocken for Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev bb) because of missing iwlwifi-7260-17.ucode

[Bug 1629972] Re: networking stop incorrectly disconnects from (network) root filesystem

2016-10-14 Thread Martin Pitt
> ifdown -a --exclude=lo

Indeed, nicely spotted! So this would make a difference on machines
which still have "lo" in /etc/network/interfaces (which hasn't been
necessary/recommended since 2014), but I figure we still have too many
places (installer/cloud image builder etc.) which write that. So adding
--exclude=lo is correct for sure (even it might not completely fix this
bug).

2016-10-14 Thread Ertan Günay
Public bug reported:

This started to happen after xenity upgrade (I guess)
My MySql data folder is different to "\var\lib\mysql"
So after each mysql upgrade,
apt gives me an error.
after that
I set "datadir" of mysql to "\var\lib\mysql"
than I complete mysql upgrade.
than I stop mysql service
than I change "datadir" to normal value
and last, I start the mysql service.
.
After this procedure, apt function completes the upgrade procedure.

[Bug 733349] Re: Minimize Application's Windows upon clicking its Launcher Icon

2016-10-14 Thread Richard Ulrich
Fixed it for me with the help of
http://askubuntu.com/questions/36433/can-i-use-the-unity-launcher-icon-to-minimize-applications-windows#436542
But it's hard to understand that this is not the standard behavior like on
trisquel and even Windows.
Good luck hitting the minimize button with your finger on the touch screen of
the 4k XPS13.

[Bug 1633321] Re: Fix alps driver for multitouch function.

2016-10-14 Thread Ying-Chun Liu
** Description changed:

We need to cherry-pick 9a54cf462d6f3c383a5a4f5fe15c020a03db44e6 for alps
touchpads. Otherwise the touchpad will stop working when we put more
than 3 fingers on the pad.

  Please consider SRU this commit.
+
+ Impact:
+ Alps driver doesn't work when users put more than 3 fingers on it.
+
+ Fix:
+ Alps touchpad still works good after multitouch for more than 3 fingers.
+
+ Tested:
+ The patch is tested on new Dell Inspiron laptops and works very good.

Did you report this crash via Apport (the crash notification/reporting
