The default netplan config is in ubuntu-core-config now (it should really be in the core snap's configuration, i think, so gadgets can customize it but I'm not sure what the status is there) and indeed this gets turned into networkd config very very early in boot. > if i change the config i notice that no matter what i do, when logging in > the original config is still in place when running ifconfig. [Bug 1208993] Re: Ubuntu slows down and hangs while copying file from/to USB

[Bug 1624997] Re: live-migration fails because of " Host key verification failed"
Below configurations have been used to work around the problem: 1. Edit /etc/nova/nova.conf on nova nodes which participate in the live migration: [libvirt] rbd_user = rbd_secret_uuid = #live_migration_uri = qemu+ssh://%s/system live_migration_uri = qemu+tcp://%s/system # Disable tunnelled migration so that selective # live block migration can be supported. live_migration_tunnelled = True iscsi_use_multipath = True 2. Edit /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf: listen_tcp = 1 listen_addr = "0.0.0.0" auth_tcp = "none" 3. Restart nova-compute and libvirt: # service libvirt-bin restart # service nova-compute restart Meanwhile, such modifications won't work if you are using Ubuntu with kernel 3.x like 3.13.0-100-generic I previously used - it seems there is a kernel bug underground. [Bug 1610929] Re: Implement Screen::GetShellMode()
Mir has no knowledge of stages. That is a concept which exists at the higher level in Unity8. However Mir's form factor enumeration would probably need a new entry still. And an API for Unity8 to set it. Before we go wedging something called "staged" into Mir though, please try to consider a generalised approach that is a superset of the Unity8 design. Since Mir should support other shells. What we call "staged" might be called "tiled" in Mir for example. So we need a design, but before that we need to be more confident that any change in Mir is really required at all. ** Changed in: mir Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1610929 Title: Implement Screen::GetShellMode() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1610929/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1637536] Re: support setting non-supported modes (resolution)
OK, there's a design discussion to be had here. In these cases, mirout is correct - your display has exactly one mode it can be driven at. X adds a whole bunch of fake “standard” modes, but they're just that - fake. Selecting one of the fake modes does not change the video mode; instead, it scales the rendering up to the monitor's mode. What is the user requirement here? I'd prefer the Mir API to accurately reflect the capabilities of the system, but one of those capabilities is that we can scale content. If the user-requirement is “I'd like everything on my screen to look bigger”, we can do that. Indeed, this seems to be the Apple approach - https://support.apple.com /en-au/HT202471 - there's the “optimal resolution” button, and then the “make everything larger or smaller” option. ** Changed in: mir Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1637536 Title: support setting non-supported modes (resolution) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1637536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1637879] Re: package intel-microcode 3.20151106.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 1
> update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated) > cp: cannot create regular file '/cdrom/casper/initrd.gz.new': No such file > or directory Read-only boot media is (currently?) unsupportable by anything that needs to update the initramfs... such as intel-microcode. I have no idea what can be done about this bug, but everything is working as it is supposed to: you have a read-only partition, the system cannot write to it and fails. All I know is that intel-microcode is never going to fix this issue. Creating live-cds that can have their kernels and initramfs updated is the business of whatever creates live-cds... and only possible if the live system is in read-write media in the first place. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1637879 Title: package intel-microcode 3.20151106.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-microcode/+bug/1637879/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1211110] Re: network manager openvpn dns push data not updating system DNS addresses
I managed to get OpenVPN working from within Network-Manager using the following setup 1. Setup your OpenVPN connection in Network Manager using "Network Connections / Add / OpenVPN" 2. Create a new LAN/WLAN connection e.g. "LAN VPN" 3. In "General" Tab set "automatically connect to VPN" and select the OpenVPN entry 4. In "IPv4" tab set "DHCP Address only" and set DNS address of the VPN provider manually 5. Save and test You should be able to select "LAN VPN" connection which will kick-off the OpenVPN which will then make use of the DNS entry that is manually provided. So you indirectly activate the VPN connection which also gives you no DNS leaks. [Bug 1635023] Re: Regression: quotas prevent yakkety from booting (boots once every ~4 attempts)
Sorry, I'm not understanding your comment. What I understood is that the systemd developers said "It is not our responsibility if ubuntu does not boot, this is not a systemd bug! In fact, the issue in booting is caused by some quota related units, shipped by Ubuntu, that are not part of systemd". Then, I saw that the faulty systemd units are shipped with the "quota" package, just as you say. Yet, the upstream quota package does not contain these units. The systemd quota related units and scripts are a downstream ubuntu (maybe from debian) addition (in fact, they live in the debian dir of the package). This is why I was reporting that the systemd developers suggest that this is a downstream bug (a bug in the Ubuntu distro), not an upstream bug (a bug in systemd 231). I never implied that ubuntu forgot to ship some units. I'm only saying that the quota units shipped with ubuntu evidently mistake something, because when they are masked the system boots, otherwise it doesn't. Possibly, the issue is only triggered if one has quotas+lvm2+fake or soft raid. This may explain why the mistake got unnoticed when it slipped in. I suppose that this bug should be fixed by the maintainers of the quota package in ubuntu, possibly with the help of the systemd maintainers. ** Package changed: systemd (Ubuntu) => quota (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1635023 Title: Regression: quotas prevent yakkety from booting (boots once every ~4 attempts) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/systemd/+bug/1635023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
