[Bug 1645798] Re: No snaps appear in scope on Core 16
I've spent pretty much all day trying to track this down. The debug cycle time with core 16 in a VM doesn't help :-( What I can see is that crap comes out of the ZmqReceiver when an object adapter tries to dispatch an incoming request to the scope. The problem doesn't manifest itself in the same way on each run. Sometimes, the read from the socket returns zero bytes, which triggers the "socket was closed" error. Other times, the number of bytes read doesn't divide by the word size, which triggers an "impossible message size" error. Yet other times, things fall over in the ObjectAdapter::dispatch() method when something throws during unmarshaling (presumably because the data that was read is crap), which is reported as "error unmarshaling request header". It all points to some problem with zmq not respecting framing boundaries or indicating that a socket has a message ready to read, but then delivering incomplete or crap data. I don't understand at this point why this happens with core 16 and not on classic. The library versions for zmq match what I have on my desktop. I'll try this again tomorrow on classic and see whether I can figure out what's going wrong by comparing trace. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1645798 Title: No snaps appear in scope on Core 16 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1645798/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1342175] Re: [upstream] Poor performance with find & replace with empty value on large data set
Hi Could someone help in pointing me in the right direction to upgrade our current version to the one that fixes the problem? I have tried this on Linux Mint 18.1 Beta which installs Libreoffice Calc 5.1.4.2, and the problem still exists. The real issue seems to be that the Find/Replace function is trying to populate thousands of records into a small window for display to the user and the system takes a very long time (> 15 min) to display this. In any case, the window is of not much use especially if more than 20-30 records are being replaced, as the user cannot do much with the information once the replacement has taken place. Alternatively, is there a patch that can be applied for only Calc which resolves this issue? [Bug 1644021] Re: Firefox doesn't include EmojiOne font
** Description changed: Firefox has shipped with an emoji font since version 50.0, but Ubuntu doesn't include it in their Firefox packages. - When opening a page in Firefox containing emoji characters, the black - and white glyphs from DejaVu are displayed instead of the EmojiOne - glyphs. + Therefore, when opening a page in Firefox containing emoji characters, + the black and white glyphs from DejaVu are displayed instead of the + glyphs from the EmojiOneMozilla font. [Bug 1649763] Re: Dell XPS 15 2016 with Ubuntu 16 Sound HDMI issues
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1649763/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1644021] Re: Firefox doesn't include EmojiOne font
** Description changed: - Since Firefox 50 Emoji could be used inside a web page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/50.0/releasenotes/ - Firefox 50 release :" Added a built-in Emoji set for operating systems without native Emoji fonts (Windows 8.0 and lower and Linux) " + Firefox has shipped with an emoji font since version 50.0, but Ubuntu + doesn't include it in their Firefox packages. - Step to reproduce: - 1) Update Firefox to Firefox 50 - 2) Launch Firefox - 3) Go to http://getemoji.com/ + When opening a page in Firefox containing emoji characters, the black + and white glyphs from DejaVu are displayed instead of the EmojiOne + glyphs. - Actual result: a lot Emoji are not here + According to http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial- + updates/amd64/firefox/filelist, EmojiOneMozilla.ttf is not included in + the firefox package in Ubuntu's repositories. - Expected Result: All Emoji sould be shown - - Workform: Manual install of the Emoji font: - 1) Download https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/50.0/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-50.0.tar.bz2 + Manual installing this font and verifying that it works: + 1) Download Firefox tarball from Firefox website 2) Extract EmojiOneMozilla.ttf from /firefox/fonts/ - 3) Copy EmojiOneMozilla.ttf in /usr/lib/firefox/fonts/ (badly it's no work in ~/.fonts/ ) - 4) Quit your Ubuntu's session and launch a new one + 3) Copy EmojiOneMozilla.ttf to /usr/lib/firefox/fonts/ + 4) Quit Ubuntu session and launch a new one 5) Launch Firefox and go to http://getemoji.com/ - 6) It's work! - - Mozilla decide that Firefox MUST read Emoji and install a font for that for Windows et Linux's users. Badly, Ubuntu remove it. - For a better interoperability, Ubuntu should add EmojiOneMozilla.ttf + 6) Open a page containing emoji characters ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: firefox 50.0+build2-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-101.148~precise1-generic 3.13.11-ckt39 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-101-generic x86_64 AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k3.13.0-101-generic. [Bug 1582708] Re: HAproxy 1.6.3 mail alerts on DOWN but not UP

Re: [Bug 1574324] Re: pulseaudio crashes when connecting to bluetooth headphones (due to ubuntu changes?)
Ok, I do not see anything obvious from the log. Did you attempt to pair your headphones whilst pulseaudio was running? TO be sure, delete the pairing from bluetooth preferences if it exists, and start fresh. Load pulse as per instructions to get the log, attempt to pair the bluetooth headphones, wait till the pair fails/pulse seems to crash. [Bug 1570698] Re: CI failure in TestClientInput.receives_one_touch_event_per_frame
Yeah this failure has become more of a problem with the CapnProto event code. Prior to that it wasn't failing for months at a time. Long term we expect input resampling functionality to get dropped from Mir, and this test case with it. Because client-side vsync should allow Unity8 to use the default QML_TOUCH_COMPRESSION instead. Shorter term, I noticed the new Capnproto code seems to do multiple mallocs per event. Fixing that could help here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1570698 Title: CI failure in TestClientInput.receives_one_touch_event_per_frame To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1570698/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1441852] Re: [HP Spectre x360 - 13-4010ca] Audio broken, broadwell-U audio controller
Now I'm really confused... I saw 4.9 was released, so I installed it from the Ubuntu mainline debs (amd64: headers-all, headers-generic, image-generic). Rebooted and audio did NOT work. So I thought something must have changed between rc4 and final, so I reinstalled 4.9-rc4 (I still had the debs in my Downloads folder), rebooted, and audio still did NOT work. I don't know if it's related or not, but WiFi is now working in rc4, which makes me think I'm not actually comparing apples-to-apples... Thoughts?
