[Bug 1565975] Re: scanning sometimes impossible with LIDE 210
I have two machines with which I want to use the scanner, one of them is the desktop with 64-bit Kubuntu (still 14.04) and the other one is a rather old laptop which is not 64-bit capable (Pentium-M) with 32-bit Kubuntu 16.04. When I discovered the problem on the laptop, I checked it with the desktop and found out that it is the same for the 32-bit version of 16.04, but different with 64-bit 16.04. And even with 64-bit 16.04 there is still the unusual noise and I fear that it might result in some hardware wearout. So I'm not sure if using 64-bit really would be a workaround. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1565975 Title: scanning sometimes impossible with LIDE 210 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1565975/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1655842] [NEW] "Out of memory" errors after upgrade to 4.4.0-59
Public bug reported: I recently replaced some Xenial servers, and started experiencing "Out of memory" problems with the default kernel. We bake Amazon AMIs based on an official Ubuntu-provided image (ami- e6b58e85, in ap-southeast-2, from https://cloud- images.ubuntu.com/locator/ec2/). Previous versions of our AMI included "4.4.0-57-generic", but the latest version picked up "4.4.0-59-generic" as part of a "dist-upgrade". Instances booted using the new AMI have been using more memory, and experiencing OOM issues - sometimes during boot, and sometimes a while afterwards. An example from the system log is: [ 130.113411] cloud-init[1560]: Cloud-init v. 0.7.8 running 'modules:final' at Wed, 11 Jan 2017 22:07:53 +. Up 29.28 seconds. [Bug 1645891] Re: After adding a second monitor, mouse pointer flickers and/or disappears in a zone near the top of first (notebook) monitor, while some apps show slow in ext display.
Michael Grivas, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. 1) Could you please advise how your monitor and laptop are connected (ex. HDMI, VGA, etc.)? 2) Does using the nvidia proprietary driver change anything regarding this? 3) If you disable the graphics card via your BIOS does this influence this issue? 4) To see if this is already resolved in Ubuntu, could you please test http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise to the results? ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1645891 Title: After adding a second monitor, mouse pointer flickers and/or disappears in a zone near the top of first (notebook) monitor, while some apps show slow in ext display. [Bug 1639180] Re: no login possible after update to nvidia 304.132
I am still observing the problem on my Ubuntu 16.04.1 x86 desktop, which has C77 [GeForce 8300] (rev a2) graphics. I assume this is because 304.134 has not yet been backported to 16.04.1 LTS. I hope the bug is fixed soon, as it's a little disconcerting that the latest stable Ubuntu release does not work on my non-bleeding-edge desktop. (Nouveau crashes too often to be useful, and the more up-to-date proprietary driver has so many artifacts on the screen that it is unusable.) For now, I have worked around the problem by using the recipe in #20 to go back to 304.131-0ubuntu3. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1639180 Title: no login possible after update to nvidia 304.132 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1639180/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1649048] Re: "Power off" required for resume from hybrid-sleep
I would like to start by apologizing to anyone who may have wasted time/effort on resolving this non-existent bug; I promise that I was not being intentionally misleading. I was finally able to find the root of my issue and, as it turns out, the issue was not the new bug I reported here but instead was a combination of the "resume from suspend" bug and systemd ignoring my settings in /etc/systemd/logind.conf when an external display is connected. I have changed the status of this bug to "Invalid" for the reasons stated above. Again, I am sorry for any time and/or effort that was wasted resolving or monitoring an issue that was actually just my misunderstanding of my own system. - Steven -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1649048 Title: "Power off" required for resume from hybrid-sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1649048/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1636282] Re: network-manager after suspend showing arrow icon instead of wifi icon and showing no wifi networks
I still run into this problem from time to time. On my end, I resolve it by running the following command: sudo iwlist [wifi interface] scan Once I did that, it immediately connected. I'm under the impression that when resuming from suspend, Network Manager isn't automatically scanning for access points. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1636282 Title: network-manager after suspend showing arrow icon instead of wifi icon and showing no wifi networks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1636282/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1655803] [NEW] x-staging problem report
Public bug reported: I added the x-staging ppa and upgraded my 16.04 system (equipped with AMD W9000) to use the mesa drivers in the upcoming release. After about 15 minutes of emacs, terminal, and chrome usage the screen blanks to grey with blue squares, then to grey, then powers off. [Bug 1532582] Re: Regression: SnapScan 1212U stuck after scanning one page
dronus, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. To see if this is already resolved in Ubuntu, could you please test http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise to the results? ** Description changed: If I scan a page using the Agfa SnapScan 1212u, the scanner bar does not return to the edge but stops in the middle of the scanner at which point the scanner powers off.
