[Bug 1495248] Re: usr.bin.firefox blocks /dev/shm
I had the /dev/shm/org.chromium.XX issues with - Flash plugin DISABLED - Java plugin DISABLED Maybe playing a HTML5 youtube video exposes it. I'm on ubuntu 16.04 (up-to-date), FF 51.0.1, with apparmor profile activated. @fevrier Have you tried my patch (version 6) (taken from https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1659988)? [Bug 1643200] Re: After updating to firefox 50.0, tab goes black instead of showing web pages
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1659988 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1659988 @blantonradford Thanks for reporting back. That can easily happen: As documented in my previous comments, I had black/white tabs already with FF 50. Most users won't have noticed that because the extension "ubuntu modifications" is installed by default and mitigates this problem for versions _before_ FF51 (or FF51.0.1). However, starting from FF51.0.1 (at least), that extension does not help any more and the issue gets exposed to users. Technically, you hit this issue as soon as E10S gets enabled, be it via update or updating previously E10S-incompatible extensions (like Session Manager) which then become compatible to E10S and therefore allow FF to enable E10S. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1643200 Title: After updating to firefox 50.0, tab goes black instead of showing web pages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1643200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1629038] Re: package samba 2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Gary (and Franco) - back when debugging this case it was due to multiple mixed libs and binaries installed that didn't work together. After the debugging the solution was to re-clean the system related to those binaries/libraries - but it stays an uncommon case caused by some special local setup/config - at least that was the theory. So I'm interested if you are really hitting "the same" meaning like: samba: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/samba/libtime-basic.so.0: version `SAMBA_4.3.9_UBUNTU' not found (required by /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libsamba-util.so.0) Or just some other sort of "failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1" as there can be many others. If you hit really the same, please: 1. add your insight on your systm setup related to sambe where the stale binaries/so's could come from in your case 2. try the workarounds to clean as described above and report if they helped in your case If you are hitting a different issue on upgrade please report a new bug (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs) ** Summary changed: - package samba 2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 + references to 4.3.9 symbols from Samba 4.3.11 breaking upgrade -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1629038 Title: references to 4.3.9 symbols from Samba 4.3.11 breaking upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1629038/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1585863] Re: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it.
"after resume, only a couple of wifi networks will be listed at most, and never the one I use" - that's exactly the symptom I see after resuming my DELL E7450. Also, the Wi-Fi icon is replaced with an "arrow up arrow down" one. `sudo service network-manager restart` reconnects most of the time, but sometimes that wrong icons stays on. I've just modified `/lib/systemd/system-sleep/wpasupplicant` as described in #64, and will be testing for the next several days. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. [Bug 1660882] [NEW] Can't boot from BTRFS RAID1
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 16.10 Steps to reproduce: 1. Install Ubuntu with a BTRFS root partition (/dev/sdb2 on my system). 2. After installation, convert to RAID 1 by adding another partition to the filesystem: $ btrfs device add /dev/sdb3 / $ btrfs filesystem balance / 3. Reboot. 4. Stuck at initramfs prompt. To get the system to boot I have to edit /boot/grub/grub.cfg and replace all instances of this: rootflags=subvol=@ with this: rootflags=subvol=@,device=/dev/sdb2,device=/dev/sdb3 The workaround can be applied permanently by editing /etc/grub.d/10_linux and replace this: rootflags=subvol=${rootsubvol} with this: rootflags=subvol=${rootsubvol},device=/dev/sdb2,device=/dev/sdb3 Then run update-grub ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1660882 Title: Can't boot from BTRFS RAID1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1660882/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1655584] Re: systemd-udevd busyloops when nvidia kernel module fails to load
I tried systemctl stop nvidia-persistenced nvidia-persistenced --no-persistence-mode nvidia-smi --persistence-mode=Disabled but none of them helped. nvidia-smi failed because it couldn't communicate with the nvidia driver. The system was created using a raw disk in a virtual machine (VirtualBox). I then booted off the disk so it was running for real, and accepted the offered nvidia drivers. Finally, I shutdown and restarted in the VM. That is the context for the loop. The VM has no nvidia hardware, and so obviously there is no reason for the driver to load. [Bug 1639180] Re: no login possible after update to nvidia 304.132
I can confirm this bug still persists in latest package 304.134 on XUbuntu 16.04 LTS. The card is nForce 6150SE OpenGL does not work, but I can login to xfce because it does not need a compositor. Version 304.131 works OK. It was listed in aptitude for some reason, so I could just downgrade. I cannot use nouveau on this card because it hard-crashes (entire screen becomes filled with lots of lines in a slightly diagonal screen gray & blue pattern, stops responding, only solution is to do a hard reset) when doing "intensive" graphics usage (intensive = opening a web browser and browser one or two pages). I didn't try PPA nouveau with latest drivers, just the ones provided by stock Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1639180 Title: no login possible after update to nvidia 304.132 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1639180/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1660855] [NEW] Can't start gnome-software to show a particular snap package
Public bug reported: I'd like to be able to launch gnome-software showing the details page for a particular snap. I can do this for packages from the Ubuntu archive (gnome-software --details-pkg=inkscape works fine, for example), and gnome-software _supports_ snaps: if I search for ohmygiraffe in gnome-software it finds that snap package no problem. But "gnome- software --details-pkg=ohmygiraffe" does not work, and there seems to be no equivalent option for snaps. [Bug 1660850] [NEW] SRU of LXCFS 2.0.6 (upstream bugfix release)
Public bug reported: LXCFS upstream released LXCFS 2.0.6 as a bugfix release with following changelog: - Fix swap values with nested cgroups - tests: Fix run on ppc64el - Fix wrong scanning of memory.stat Just like Ubuntu itself, upstream releases long term support releases, as is 2.0 and then periodic point releases including all the accumulated bugfixes. Only the latest upstream release gets full support from the upstream developers, everyone else is expected to first update to it before receiving any kind of support. This bugfix release has already been uploaded to Zesty and automatically backported in the upstream PPAs for all Ubuntu releases. So far without any reported regression. This should qualify under the minor upstream bugfix release allowance of the SRU policy, letting us SRU this without paperwork for every single change included in this upstream release. Once the SRU hits -updates, we will be backporting this to trusty- backports as well, making sure we have the same version everywhere. ** Affects: lxcfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: lxcfs (Ubuntu Trusty) Importance: Medium Assignee: Stéphane Graber (stgraber) Status: Triaged ** Affects: lxcfs (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Medium Assignee: Stéphane Graber (stgraber) Status: In Progress ** Affects: lxcfs (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Medium Assignee: Stéphane Graber (stgraber) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: lxcfs (Ubuntu Trusty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: lxcfs (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: lxcfs (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Yakkety) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Trusty) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Trusty) Assignee: (unassigned) => Stéphane Graber (stgraber) ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Xenial) Assignee: (unassigned) => Stéphane Graber (stgraber) ** Changed in: lxcfs (Ubuntu Yakkety) Assignee: (unassigned) => Stéphane Graber (stgraber) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1660850 Title: SRU of LXCFS 2.0.6 (upstream bugfix release) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxcfs/+bug/1660850/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1654624] Re: dhcp apparmor profile complains about lxd client
Hadmut, AppArmor's stacking support was intended to allow supporting unmodified Ubuntu inside LXD containers. If you're feeling up for some experimentation, you could try to disable this feature by setting the kernel.unprivileged_userns_apparmor_policy sysctl to 0 early in a system boot, preferably before LXD starts. This should cause the attempts to set policy within LXDs to fail, and either the services will then refuse to start or they'll fall back to their old behaviour. (This reflects my lack of familiarity with LXD.) I'll note that this is a wild guess; I'd feel more comfortable giving this advice on IRC than in a public bug tracker where it might do more harm than good. But I'm cautiously optimistic that this might give you a system you'd be happier using. Without those patches, we'd be granting full access to the D-Bus system bus socket from the very commonly used namespace abstraction. ** Changed in: apparmor Status: Fix Released => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598759 Title: AppArmor nameservice abstraction doesn't allow communication with systemd-resolved To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apparmor/+bug/1598759/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
