[Bug 1667113] Re: Libvirt Qemu appears in the list of users in Ligthdm and user switecher
Hi, thank you for the report - I can confirm the issue. This was caused by fixing bug 1637601. This was brought up on IRC two days ago and I was already polling for opinions on the original but. There are way more such high-id users in there and I wonder why they would not show up. Maybe there is some filtering mechanism that I didn't know about yet. Adding a base-passwd task as they should be the best experts knowing how to deal with that (Authority for allocating such IDs). Also I'm gonna subscribe all participants of the old bug here. ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Also affects: base-passwd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1667113 Title: Libvirt Qemu appears in the list of users in Ligthdm and user switecher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/base-passwd/+bug/1667113/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1667158] Re: Borders of pop-up windows are displayed badly
I found a way to eliminate the problem (I think). I went into CompizConfig Setting Manager --> Effects and turned off all the effects like wobbling, water effect, motion blur and fading window). I don't not if the problem will reoccur but so far the border problems have stopped appearing and every thing is good again. [Bug 1667033] Re: nova instance console log empty
Thanks Ryan for doing all the search work! @James - I have prepared a preliminary zesty version in a ppa at https://launchpad.net/~ci-train-ppa- service/+archive/ubuntu/2512/+packages (currently building) Since you very likely need that for your Xenial backport instead of the zesty version I pushed the commits to my LP repo, and you might want to experiment with those two on top of yours then: https://git.launchpad.net/~paelzer/ubuntu/+source/qemu/commit/?id=273876e81575127d55cb6f1de700f5d96f144662 https://git.launchpad.net/~paelzer/ubuntu/+source/qemu/commit/?id=0db1cac03f93890e13b3a3152367509ff3a66457 There are a lot of CVEs for qemu 2.8 and I wanted to wait for a new Debian release to pick those up. That will still get into zesty release, but it could take a while, and I assume your schedule might be more aggressive. I you happen to need this content here in zesty earlier please let me know and I'll plan for an extra upload/testing cycle. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1667033 Title: nova instance console log empty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1667033/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1667198] Re: gpu-manager should also support reading kernel parameter to adding options in xorg.conf for Nvidia
** Description changed: This feature has been implemented for Intel (ex. gpumanager_uxa), which is parsing kernel parameter to add option in xorg.conf (commit ff3a4e54). And now Nvidia also need this feature to add Option "nvidiaXineramaInfo" "off" to fix some issues. Btw, I'm thinking it might be a more flexible to have a config file which user could add all options as they want so that we could prevent keeping change gpu-manager when some more options are needed in the future. + + needed by : lp#1653592 ** Changed in: ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1667198 Title: gpu-manager should also support reading kernel parameter to adding options in xorg.conf for Nvidia To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-drivers-common/+bug/1667198/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1667208] [NEW] Ubuntu's selenium hardcodes a path that is valid for Debian, but not for Ubuntu
Public bug reported: Hi. The package python{,3}-selenium uses a hardcoded path of '/usr/lib/chromium/chromedriver' when instantiating a Chrome webdriver. That path is correct for Debian (in particular, it was directly inherited from https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=805733#5), but since Ubuntu uses chromium-browser instead of Debian's chromium naming. The package chromium-chromedriver in Ubuntu installs the webdriver at '/usr/lib/chromium- browser/chromedriver'. There needs to be a synchronization between the selenium Python module and the webdriver package. Thanks, Rogério Brito. [Bug 1663975] Re: XHCI errors causes dock USB and network adapter dropouts
Hi - sorry for the delay in response. I wanted to wait until the final 4.10 was released, and then had some prior obligations I had to tend to until now. I and colleagues with the same machine (which rules out a hardware problem) experienced this problem out of the box with 16.04.1 (which provides 4.4). While on 16.04.1, I tested with 4.4, 4.9 and 4.10 (rc8), and on 16.04.2, I tested with 4.8 and 4.10 (final). [Bug 1313436] Re: Unity/Compiz very slow after resume from suspend
Leonard, I think it's not related to Unity, what happens here is something like [1], "A bug was reported that on certain Broadwell platforms, after resuming from S3, the CPU is running at an anomalously low speed. It turns out that the BIOS has modified the value of the THERM_CONTROL register during S3, and changed it from 0 to 0x10, thus enabled clock modulation(bit4), but with undefined CPU Duty Cycle(bit1:3) - which causes the problem." So basically the "right fix" should come from BIOS, in generally I think Dell is doing a good job at updating BIOS. If they don't want to fix this at their side, you should file a bug at [2]. [Bug 1107935] Re: Support for WPA Enterprise wireless networks
I'll review this; but from a quick look, it seems like it should be more efficient to get NM to prompt the user for the right credentials in a separate window (ie. as it would already be done if you were to click on the network from the indicator), instead of requiring password entry from the ubiquity dialog. [Bug 1659159] Re: KeePass 2.35 is not nice to your clipboard
I am on Linux Mint 18.1 with the Cinnamon desktop and I haven't seen the behavior listed here, so here is my 2 cents worth... The only way I have successfully copied anything out of KeePass 2.35 is to right-click on the record, then paste it into either a text editor, such as Leafpad or Xed, copy it from there, then I can paste it where- ever. This is fairly annoying and I agree wth @dlech that this should be a critical bug. [Bug 1583088] Re: Randomly corrupt font / text / characters in Unity8
Assuming the current value is 4 might be incorrect in this case but also won't cause the bug unless they also fail to call "glPixelStorei(GL_UNPACK_ALIGNMENT, 4)" somewhere that they need it to be 4. Where you see Qt code that uses alignment 1, that's not relevant here because it will play perfectly with Mir. The problem is elsewhere... some GL unpacking without a glPixelStorei call is being done and that location expects/requires alignment of 4. So I guess start by searching for all glTexImage2D calls and ensure they are all /immediately/ preceded by glPixelStorei. It's possible Qt already has some housekeeping for that but then the bind call happens in the middle: Qt: glPixelStorei(GL_UNPACK_ALIGNMENT, 4); Qt: calls the offending Mir bind code Qt: glTexSubImage2D or glTexImage2D So the fix then would still be in qtdeclarative; either reorder lines 1 & 2, or add another glPixelStorei call in before the glTex*Image2D calls in Qt. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1583088 Title: Randomly corrupt font / text / characters in Unity8 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1583088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1667160] [NEW] Kernel panic with 4.8.0-1025 and -1026 on RasPi 2
Public bug reported: I have a Raspberry Pi 2 running Ubuntu 16.10 without problems. I use wicd to let it connect to my WiFi with a RTL8188CUS USB dongle. And there's a RTL2838 DVB-T USB stick attached to monitor airplane positions for Flightradar24. After updateing the kernel from 4.8.0-1024, which runs flawlessly, to -1025, there's a kernel panic happening 10-20 seconds after booting up to the login prompt. I thought the -1026 fixed that, but it's still no worky. The trace is scrolling so fast I can't read anything but the last page: [<808c76c8>] (sock_sendmsg) from...
