[Bug 1668724] Re: fails to mount cgroupfs inside containers running on 16.04
There is a bug (which is fixed in newer versions) in lxc in that it does not ignore cgroups which are not used by the container. So in your particular case, if you're not using the co-mounted controllers, then indeed fixing the lxc bug should work for you as well. Nevertheless some people will want to run containers using those controllers, so cgroup-lite (and cgroupfs-mount) will need to be fixed. But that's not your problem :) I understand if you want to leave it at this - I'll just need to improve my awk skills :) I just wanted to ask to avoid duplication of effort. Re: [Bug 1668724] Re: fails to mount cgroupfs inside containers running on 16.04
I'm happy to provide a patch, but if the root cause of my issue is in lxc it may be easier to patch that than worrying about backwards compatibility for cgroups on older distro releases. [Bug 1668148] Re: Ubuntu live CD installer crashed
Actually, the disk was completely blank when I started. I wanted to have a btrfs partition instead of a ext4 partition, so I chose to set it up manually. I don't think the bug is invalid, because there are two problems with the EFI warning message: 1. Go back didn't work when I clicked on it. So I was forced to continue spending the next ten minutes installing, even though grub-install was guaranteed to fail, making the exercise completely pointless and frustrating. 2. The warning message is next to useless, because it doesn't actually say that you need to set up an EFI partition. It just says there 'could be a problem', which implies that there might not be a problem, but we know there is guaranteed to be a problem. Is it possible to change the warning message so that it tells you that you also need to create an EFI partition (is 200MB the recommended size?) for it to work in EFI mode? This would make the installer a lot more user-friendly (and have saved me a lot of time). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1668148 Title: Ubuntu live CD installer crashed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1668148/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1669944] Re: Consider not recommending caja-gksu
** Description changed: caja-gksu depends on gksu but gksu is deprecated (PolicyKit is preferred). Also gksu depends on gconf. The only thing keeping gconf and gksu in the default Ubuntu MATE install is caja-gksu. (Well, except for gdebi but I just pinged ~mvo about that, see https://bugs.debian.org/822596 ) One interesting feature available in the gvfs used by Ubuntu 17.04 and - Debian Stretch is the admin:/// URI. I haven't tried on caja but it - should work in gtk3 apps. (If you were Googling for it, gvfs calls it - the admin backend.) + Debian Stretch is the admin:/// URI. [Bug 1240757] Re: Bridge not created if bind9 is on
Marking this won't fix for LXD since LXD is now letting API users create bridges dynamically which makes generating .d files very impractical for us. We may however be able to add a check for this issue and at least report a better error to the user. For LXC, we could still use a .d mechanism since we have a fixed bridge there. ** Changed in: lxd (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1240757 Title: Bridge not created if bind9 is on To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1240757/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1668724] Re: fails to mount cgroupfs inside containers running on 16.04
Hm, I found a bug in my last version of this patch. Freshly booted machines which had not mounted the cgroupfs had all the hierarchies as 0, causing all cgroups to get mounted onto a single directory. I can work around this by detecting this scenario. However, I wonder if I am actually seeing a bug in LXC. On my 12.04 hosts spawning 12.04 containers with the nesting.conf include, the cgroupfs gets automounted inside the container even without this package. This is not the case on 16.04 hosts. I'm currently using LXC 2.0.6. RE: name=systemd, I had modified an older version of our scripts to mount name=systemd, because that was how it showed up in /proc/self/cgroups, but everywhere I see the systemd cgroup mentioned on the internet has it mounted at /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd, so I guess that's an implementation detail I just have to deal with. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1668724 Title: fails to mount cgroupfs inside containers running on 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cgroup-lite/+bug/1668724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1669944] [NEW] Consider not recommending caja-gksu
Public bug reported: caja-gksu depends on gksu but gksu is deprecated (PolicyKit is preferred). Also gksu depends on gconf. The only thing keeping gconf and gksu in the default Ubuntu MATE install is caja-gksu. (Well, except for gdebi but I just pinged ~mvo about that, see https://bugs.debian.org/822596 ) One interesting feature available in the gvfs used by Ubuntu 17.04 and Debian Stretch is the admin:/// URI. I haven't tried on caja but it should work in gtk3 apps. (If you were Googling for it, gvfs calls it the admin backend.)
