[Bug 1444656] Re: GnuTLS TLS 1.2 handshake failure
We encountered this bug today and it has the potential to be pretty nasty if you're unfortunate enough to hit it. In our case we have several systems which perform authentication against a Windows domain using LDAPS. We recently updated the TLS certificate on those systems and all the services which perform LDAPS authentication starting failing with the symptoms described earlier in this bug. The new TLS certificate we installed had the same key size and hash algorithm, but it turned out the root CA & intermediate certificate were using SHA384 as the signature hash. This in turn caused the LDAPS connections to stop working. Given the CA's certificates were using SHA384 reissuing the certificate wasn't going to help and downgrading the TLS version was not at all desirable given the potential security implications. I've backported the commit referenced by Marc and confirmed it resolves the problem for us. In my view it'd be wise to push this out to 14.04 users as this issue is going to presumably become more prominent as more certificates start using stronger hash algorithms and TLS 1.2 becomes more prevalent. ** Patch added: "fix-tls12-handshake.diff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnutls26/+bug/1444656/+attachment/4837425/+files/fix-tls12-handshake.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1444656 Title: GnuTLS TLS 1.2 handshake failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnutls26/+bug/1444656/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1420334] Re: [enhancement] Missing client API for relative surface movement (e.g. dragging client-decorated windows)
Another interesting case is how to handle tabs being dragged out of Chrome/Chromium. In such a case the window being dragged does not exist for the start of the gesture; it only appears during the drag. Furthermore, the cursor coordinate in the newly created drag window is on the tab itself and not the titlebar. We have the benefit of knowing that drag gestures in Mir continue to send events to the window where they started until a button is released. So it seems the answer is that this is a matter of the parent window just creating and moving a child. It's not a shell operation but an application operation to move such a window. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1420334 Title: [enhancement] Missing client API for relative surface movement (e.g. dragging client-decorated windows) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1420334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1645698] Re: [SRU] Upgrade network-manager to latest point release
So, this managed to break at least my VPN setup quite well. See #1672491 with the details, but the short version is that 'specify egress interface for each dnsmasq upstream server' breaks things in two cases. The first could be argued to be a bug on the VPN client side, though a behavior change of this nature in an LTS release is decidedly unwelcome. The second exposes a bug in dnsmasq which needs to be fixed for any case where an interface is removed and then readded, this includes suspend/resume and some VPN cases. Regards, Zephaniah E. [Bug 1672585] [NEW] code_saturne user subroutines are ignored
Public bug reported: User subroutines in Code_Saturne are not handled in the code_saturne package. These Fortran subroutines and C functions are used for advanced setups, and compiled and relinked with the code (replacing built-in defaults). To reproduce: In the attached example, untar the archive, "cd" into it, and run "code_saturne compile -s src_saturne". The run "./cs_solver -p echo_case1.xml" This should print "here" for every time step (10 time steps here, which should run in a few seconds). If the execution finishes with nothing printed to the terminal, the bug is reproduced (detailed logging in the "listing" file allows checking time steps have been run). It seems this issue has appeared on various Ubuntu/Code_Saturne releases over the last years. I reproduced this issue in Ubuntu 16.10, other reproduce it under Ubuntu 16.04 (at least). I do not reproduced the issue under upstream Debian Sid (nor have it had reported to me on older Debian distributions). The bug does not occur in the vanila Code_Saturne. Note: I am one of the leading developers of the Code_Saturne CFD code. I suspect the Ubuntu issue may be caused by special compiler/linker defaults that may be activated distribution-wide, but am not sure. Users who compile the code themselves on the distribution do not encounter this issue, so it seems it is specific to the package. ** Affects: code-saturne (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "cs_user_ubuntu_issue.tar.gz" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672585/+attachment/4837363/+files/cs_user_ubuntu_issue.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672585 Title: code_saturne user subroutines are ignored To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/code-saturne/+bug/1672585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1566508] Re: autofs races with sssd on startup
Here are the results on my tests of package sssd-1.13.4-1ubuntu1.3 on Xenial. As I noted in comment #20, this bug report involves two separate issues, both contributing to failure of autofs to properly start on boot: 1. autofs starts before sssd. 2. autofs starts after sssd, but before sssd responders are up. On Trusty I observed both issues, and on Xenial only issue #1 (contrary to my previous comment #20, I did observe this issue in further tests). As I understand, the new version of the package deals with issue #2. Since I never experienced this issue on Xenial, despite numerous tests intended to reproduce it, and the issue #1 remains unfixed, I can only say that changes introduced in sssd-1.13.4-1ubuntu1.3 have no effect in the configuration that I used for my Xenial test system. However, I a weary from changing the tag to verification-failed, as a fix to "what ain't broke" is neither a success nor a failure. This does not mean that the fixes are not valid, and in fact I think they may have positive effect in Trusty. As I understand, the fixed package for Trusty has not yet been released. I did not test the package in Yakkety, as I do not use non-LTS Ubuntu versions. I would be grateful if Yakkety users could test the package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1566508 Title: autofs races with sssd on startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sssd/+bug/1566508/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
