[Bug 1677468] [NEW] canonical-livepatch - regular log messages: 'No snaps to auto-refresh found'

[Bug 1671121] Re: Deleting something from the history view breaks scrolling and the ability to click on some things
I explained 2) badly :) I was about to mean that use other component for delegate and put a button on it, so when you click it that button deletes the delegate. Just to rule out the ListItem itself. But the 1) already rules it out, so it is indeed the popover which does something bad. And probably it is related to the focus handling, as I do not see anything else the popover would affect the ListView functionalities. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1671121 Title: Deleting something from the history view breaks scrolling and the ability to click on some things To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1671121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1677297] RE: Zesty use qcom_emac instead of msm_emac.
Sorry, I'm not sure what happened there. I meant to say that that is the *actual* PHY on the SDP board. It's an Atheros 8031 PHY. I was hoping that we could get away with the genphy driver that's built-in, but apparently not. Ubuntu should be building every PHY driver anyway. I don't know if there's a way to automatically load only the PHY drivers that are on the board. However, none of this is Centriq- or even ARM-specific. This is standard procedure for most Ethernet drivers on any platform. On 3/29/17, 10:22 PM, "boun...@canonical.com on behalf of Timur Tabi" wrote: >It's not unrelated. [Bug 1677442] [NEW] openvpn client breaks on connection loss
Public bug reported: openvpn version 2.3.11-1ubuntu2 Kubuntu 16.10, all latest packages If while an openvpn connection is active, and said connection provides the main internet access, if a short underlying connection loss occurs, such as when used over wifi, the VPN connection will fail completely, however remain active. What then ends up happening is the client will attempt to re-connect but immediately fail as it's using the existing, broken, VPN connection to connect to the server. The only way to resume network connections to normal is to manually de-activate the openvpn client via the network manager (ie; tell the active openVPN connection to disconnect). On an occurrence of a connection loss, the openVPN client should be able to re-connect via the underlying connection, not via it's own connection... ** Affects: openvpn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1677442 Title: openvpn client breaks on connection loss To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvpn/+bug/1677442/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1672401] Re: Screen is black for too long during login to Unity8
As a prerequisite to removing Mir's initial black frame, we would want to modify mir-demos to ensure they (the demo servers) actively paint something on start-up. [Bug 1672401] Re: Screen is black for too long during login to Unity8
I was thinking about this bug last night. It occurred to me the black screen is probably Mir's mesa-kms driver's first frame that it flips on start-up. As far as Mir is concerned this is a very low-severity issue since the shell should then render a proper frame 16ms later. However since Unity8 is taking several seconds to render a "proper" frame perhaps we need to change the start-up order... Presently: 1. User enters password successfully 2. unity-system-compositor starts and Mir's mesa-kms driver flips a black frame. 3. unity8 starts and Mir's mesa-kms driver flips another black frame that USC probably displays. 4. (several seconds later) unity8 has a proper frame ready and displays that. If we got rid of the dummy black frame from Mir (and we need to anyway since that is us hardcoding a dependency on the GL renderer in the driver) then the best case outcome from that might be several seconds of a frozen login screen before Unity8 appears. I'm not sure that's really any better than blackness. It might be better for Unity8 to take responsibility for this and flip some splash screen immediately on startup for the user to see that everything is OK while it compiles QML and whatever. Also nice would be for USC to display a spinner while Unity8 is not ready (hasn't displayed any frames). However we can't do that right now while Mir is inserting a black frame of its own, which would make USC think Unity8 is immediately ready. ** Also affects: mir Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: mir Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: mir Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672401 Title: Screen is black for too long during login to Unity8 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1672401/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1677418] Re: TempfileUploadJob is not as helpful as it should be
** Description changed: TempfileUploadJob as it stands still requires the provider implementer to do a fair bit of work, having to implemenent cancel() and finished(), checking that the size is correct and so on. It should be possible to give the implementer something that does the entire upload into a temp file and returns a future when that's done. With that, the implementer could just instantiate the temp file uploader and, once the file has been written, go ahead and start the upload to the cloud, without having to implement anything. + + Doing this is probably quite easy; almost all of the implementation + exists already in the local provider. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1677418 Title: TempfileUploadJob is not as helpful as it should be To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/storage-framework/+bug/1677418/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1677417] [NEW] /etc/ld.so.conf.d/conjure-up.conf breaks apt on host system
Public bug reported: update-manager failed to run today on my system. When I investigated, I found this: $ sudo apt -f install apt: relocation error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libapt-private.so.0.0: symbol _ZN13pkgSourceList16AddVolatileFilesER11CommandLinePSt6vectorINSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEEESaIS8_EE, version APTPKG_5.0 not defined in file libapt-pkg.so.5.0 with link time reference $ ldd -d -r /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libapt-private.so.0.0 2>&1 | grep libapt-pkg libapt-pkg.so.5.0 => /snap/conjure-up/156/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libapt-pkg.so.5.0 (0x7f5da24bf000) $ cat /etc/ld.so.conf.d/conjure-up.conf /snap/conjure-up/156/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ $ The conjure-up snap is bundling a copy of libapt-pkg from xenial, which is incompatible with the libapt-private from yakkety. I see several things wrong with this. - conjure-up should not be monkeying with the library path of the host system. It appears to have been doing this for some time already before this current version of the snap; it's only the latest version that has added libapt-pkg to the snap and broken things in a way that I noticed, but it was already broken before this for conjure-up to tamper *at all* with the system path. - this is not the only change that conjure-up makes to the host system from its configure hook. It also creates a file /usr/lib/sysctl.d/60-conjure-up.conf, and manually installs files under /usr/share/bash-completion/completions; and I have no idea what other things it might have done in previous versions of the snap. The system integration goals here are reasonable, but the way conjure-up goes about them are unauditable. - thirdly, and the reason I'm filing this against snappy: I understand classic snaps being unconfined, by definition. But why does this translate to a classic snap having the power to run an unconfined hook? This is ten times worse than a dpkg maintainer script. For maintainer scripts we have policy around what the script may or may not touch on the filesystem, we have a community process governing who is allowed to upload packages to the Ubuntu archive; for classic snaps we are lacking both of these safeguards. My expectation was that a classic snap would modify the host filesystem only under the user's direction. An unconfined configure hook is a whole other matter entirely. ** Affects: snappy Importance: Critical Status: New ** Affects: conjure-up (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Assignee: Adam Stokes (adam-stokes) Status: New ** Changed in: snappy Importance: Undecided => Critical ** Also affects: conjure-up (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: conjure-up (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Critical ** Changed in: conjure-up (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Adam Stokes (adam-stokes) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1677417 Title: /etc/ld.so.conf.d/conjure-up.conf breaks apt on host system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1677417/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1677175] Re: network-manager 1.2.6 won't connect to vpn and displays false connected message
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected xenial ** Description changed: I have been having a rather serious and incredibly annoying problem on the updated version of network-manager v1.2.6 on Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS. Trying to manually connect to my VPN provider using openvpn through the network manager fails literally any time except bootup. Every godforsaken time. Waking the computer from suspend results in the network manager 'reconnecting' but no actual internet connection. Restarting the network manager using 'sudo service network-manager restart' sometimes doesn't work at all and I actually have to reboot the computer for it to connect to the internet. Despite the icon showing that I'm connected, in actuality I have no internet connection and cannot load any web pages. The critical thing is that this issue isn't present at all on v1.2.2, which I have downgraded to and used 'apt-mark hold' to keep it in place. I'm disappointed that the newer default version is so unstable. Any insight or confirmation of this issue would be appreciated. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.5 + Architecture: amd64 + CurrentDesktop: Unity + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 + EcryptfsInUse: Yes + InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-03-19 (10 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20170215.2) + Package: network-manager 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4 + PackageArchitecture: amd64 + Tags: xenial + Uname: Linux 4.9.16 x86_64 + UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True ** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1677175/+attachment/4850127/+files/Dependencies.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1677175 Title: network-manager 1.2.6 won't connect to vpn and displays false connected message To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1677175/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
