[Bug 1671360] Re: System doesn't boot properly on Gigabyte AM4 motherboards (AMD Ryzen)
OK - I found a good mention of the problem here. He says “There's a bug relating to the Gaming 5 board where dmesg gets flooded with errors about interrupts unless you disable CONFIG_PINCTRL_AMD.” https://www.reddit.com/r/VFIO/comments/63igfa/horrible_amd_ryzen_performance/ That prompted me to compile a new kernel without the pinctrl-amd option. That option is found when in the kernel configuration utility makeconfig, in the section called Device Drivers/Pin control/AMD GPIO pin control. I used the compiling instructions found here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/163298/whats-a-simple-way-to-recompile-the-kernel I used GIT to download the latest kernel source (4.11.0-rc6) I made no changes to the default kernel configuration other than to check off the pinctrl-amd option. Compiling took over 2 hours, running on only one core! The new kernel unstalled with no problems. acpi=off is no longer necessary to boot, and 16 cores are visible and active in KDE sysguard. No crashes. After installing the new kernel, I tried compiling with the multicore switch, 'make -j 16'. It's pretty impressive to see 16 threads running at 97%. Of course, this is just a temporary fix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1671360 Title: System doesn't boot properly on Gigabyte AM4 motherboards (AMD Ryzen) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1671360/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1679488] Re: Thunar freezes when left inactive for a while
I can confirm this issue on our computers running Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS with Xfce. As soon as qtcreator (3.5.1+dfsg-2ubuntu2) autosave a file, Thunar (1.6.11-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) freezes. And also I can confirm that this behavior doesn't happen when downgrading to Thunar version 1.6.10-2ubuntu1. sudo apt-get install thunar=1.6.10-2ubuntu1 thunar-data=1.6.10-2ubuntu1 libthunarx-2-0=1.6.10-2ubuntu1 Btw... it is independent if qtcreator was started from Thunar or from start menu. As long as Thunar shows the files within the directory where qtcreator autosave these files, Thunar will freeze. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1679488 Title: Thunar freezes when left inactive for a while To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunar/+bug/1679488/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1682336] [NEW] reformatted hard drive after bug with xfce desktop, re-install now failing
Public bug reported: I think this is a newbie mistake. I already have a desktop interface. I was following a digital ocean tutorial for setting up VNC. Part of it was installing xfce desktop. My system started being buggy (in steam Warhammer wouldn't display models, on reboot I would type in my password and the screen would go black, and then it would prompt me for my password again). I decided to do a complete system re-install. I got a message that the install is now failing because of not being able to access a drive or something. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 1540692] Re: Enable the VirtIO GPU 3D (Virgil)
I'm also unable to use the VirtIO GPU 3D (Virgil) on Ubuntu 16.10. Does this bug still apply to Ubuntu 16.10? Or is some other issue preventing me from using Virgil on Ubuntu 16.10? My QEMU commands include the following: -vga virtio \ -display gtk,gl=on \ When I try to start my VM using commands including the above, I get: qemu-system-x86_64: -display gtk,gl=on: GTK support is disabled On the other hand, when OMIT "-display gtk,gl=on" from my commands (but still include "-vga virtio"), the VM starts up. But in that case, "dmesg | grep drm" on the guest reveals that, although "virtio-vga detected" is output, "virgl 3d acceleration not available" is also output. My host is running Ubuntu 16.10 with all packages up-to-date, including the following: qemu (2.6.1+dfsg-0ubuntu5.3) libvirglrenderer0 (0.5.0-1) I get the above when using Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 16.10, and Ubuntu 17.04 as guests. [Bug 1682319] [NEW] xbindkeys key keeps changing
Public bug reported: I'm using xbindkeys (apt list shows: xbindkeys/xenial,now 1.8.6-1 amd64 [installed]). My ~/.xbindkeysrc file contains entries I can use to launch/switch to an app using a shell script named jumpapp (https://github.com/mkropat/jumpapp). Here's part of my ~/.xbindkeysrc: keystate_numlock = enable keystate_scrolllock = enable keystate_capslock = enable #Raise/Run xterm "/usr/bin/jumpapp xterm" m:0x50 + c:28 Mod2+Mod4 + t This uses "-t" to launch xterm. I got 'Mod2+Mod4 + t' by using the xbindkeys-config 'Get Key' feature. The problem I'm seeing is that sometimes the "Windows" key is captured as: Mod2+Mod4 and sometimes it's captured as: Mod4 and other times it's captured as: Mod4+Super_L Most of the time it seems to like Mod2+Mod4. Every once in a while my key combination stops working. I've created 3 .xbindkeysrc files, each with the different "Windows" key combinations. When this problem occurs, I bring up xbindkeys-config, get the "current" Windows key combination, and I copy/paste the right one to ~/.xbindkeysrc and reload xbindkeys. The only keyboards I use are the built-in one in my laptop, and a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard (USB). I've tried using xbindkeys-config on both keyboards using 'Get Key' and they both give the same results. ** Affects: xbindkeys-config (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1682319 Title: xbindkeys key keeps changing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xbindkeys-config/+bug/1682319/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
