I had no trouble with this under 14.04 but since upgrading to 16.04, the IP address part is ignored and it always uses 127.0.0.1, so I can not connect over the network. Exactly the same problem STILL EXISTS in Ubuntu's 16.04.2 LTS recent kernel (4.4.0-78-lowlatency). Hardware is the same WLAN adapter (10ec:8821) in a Lenovo Ideapad 110S-11IBR, Pentium N3710, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD (80WG005YGE). Why has that not been fixed yet (after 18 months!) in the recent LTS kernel although there is a upstream solution for about 17 months? [Regression Potential]
* Normal Use:
There is no regression potential during normal use and
operation of ebtables.
* Package Upgrade:
There is a very very small regression potential during the package
upgrade to the latest version. Once the package is upgraded that
potential is gone. It is a very small potential because several
things have to happen in a very small time frame and in an exact
order since ebtables is not a resident program like a daemon:
1. ebtables is launched during package upgrade AND
2. new ebtables binary has not yet been written to disk AND
3. it is launched with --concurent switch AND
4. another ebtables with new binary is launched AND
5. it is launched with --concurent switch AND
6. the first ebtables copy hasn't exited yet AND
7. both copies of ebtables are launched with a WRITE command AND
8. both copies of ebtables are manipulating the same resource.
Then one of the binaries could potentially fail, but once the old
binary exits the potential is gone so subsequent re-runs of
ebtables will succeed.

libvirtd is hanging after startup due to ebtables lock file -from an earlier
run- remains intact when the system reboots.

- ebtables was configured:

(other nodes appeared to be in the same state from ebtables point of view,

- I removed the lock file and libvirt started to work instantly - the lock
obtain messages have disappeared from the trace and virsh commands are working
- at 14:54 the host was booting up. According to the logs, there were other
reboots after that one, but the lock file remained intact (at least the
timestamp was not updated).
Could you please suggest a solution to be sure that ebtables lock file
is removed during boot?

Public bug reported: Step to reproduce: - Launch a clean session of emacs25-x from command line: user@machine:~$ emacs25-x -q --no-desktop - Clic on menubar. Check drop down menu are ok. - Switch to *scratch* buffer using menubar. - Now clic 'List-Interaction' menu in menubar. It is empty!!! - Open menubar by press F10 on keyboard - The following warning apears on console (emacs:8238): Gtk-WARNING **: no trigger event for menu popup (emacs:8238): Gtk-WARNING **: no trigger event for menu popup - With keyboard, go right up to 'Lisp-Interaction' menu. It is full featured! - Exit menubar, then clic again on 'Lisp-Interaction' menu. It is still ok. - Switch back to 'GNU Emacs' using 'Buffers' menu - Try to switch back to '*scratch*' using 'Buffers' menu -> It don't work. - Refresh menubar with F10, previous line should work and so on... Partly correct, because it's about my own web apps, not Tomcat itself, and those log errors only. As errors don't occur very often, the file might be pretty small for a whole month, even of size 0. So the problem is not file size, but the approach trying to compress it each and every day even if it's size 0, just because all "old" files should be compressed. I didn't change Tomcat itself, only my own web apps are logging per month by default into subdirs of /var/log/tomcat7. So in fact I have both, Tomcat still logging per day, me logging per month.
