[Bug 1697891] Re: SSH X11 forwarding broken on Zesty

2017-06-14 Thread Colin Watson
If you use the -v option then you should be able to find out the reason.
It might be as simple as the server not having xauth installed.

[Bug 1697395] Re: Thunderbolt devices don't work if connected during boot

2017-06-14 Thread Zhenfang Wei
Hi, i am using Dell XPS 9360 Developer Edition (with ubuntu 16.04
(kernel 4.4.0)) together with TB16 docking station. I have the same
issue, if TB16 is plugged before booting, the peripherals such as the
USB port, ethernet port, USB-C port, etc. works fine. But they are not
detected once the TB16 is unplugged after booting and re-plugged again.

This happens when docker is installed. It seems there was already a
patch for this
issue(https://github.com/prometheus/node_exporter/pull/143). Could you
please backport it?

[Bug 1686189] Re: External monitor connecting problem on Intel graphics card

2017-06-14 Thread Tharrrk
E7470 on Dell dock 0PDXXF here as well. LCD(eDP-1)+DVI(DP-1-1)+VGA(DP-1-3).
Intel graphics only.

I'm running 4.4.0-79-lowlatency now.

DISTRIB_ID=neon
DISTRIB_RELEASE=16.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=xenial
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="KDE neon User Edition 5.10"

I've found out that graphics come up after I switch to vt1 (Ctrl-Alt-F1)
for a while and then back (Alt-F7). I didn't try more than once,
displays just came up.

I've also noticed that -78 worked fine if I rebooted from -72 without
powering the machine off.

Does this trick work for anybody else?

Cheers
Tharrrk

[Bug 1697920] [NEW] Gnome Software front end showed spinner on all actions; had to kill service process to fix

2017-06-14 Thread Stuart Langridge
Public bug reported:

When opening Gnome Software, the front screen worked fine for me
(showing the featured app, editor's picks and so on) but taking any
action (clicking a different tab, or clicking an application, or doing a
search) showed an empty window with a spinner. There was a long-running
"/usr/bin/gnome-software --gapplication-service" process running;
killing that process and then starting Gnome Software made everything
work again (and updated the featured app to be the current one).

[Bug 1697817] Re: disable smb1 by default

This will require some discussion and thought about the implications. I
created a trello card in the ubuntu server board trying to scope these
out: https://trello.com/c/P73Okl8z

Might need a spec of its own.

[Bug 1697817] Re: disable smb1 by default

2017-06-14 Thread Andreas Hasenack
List of protocols from the smb.conf(5) manpage. Looks like "NT1" is
SMB1:

   client max protocol (G)

The value of the parameter (a string) is the highest protocol
level that will be supported by the client.

   Possible values are :

   · CORE: Earliest version. No concept of user names.

   · COREPLUS: Slight improvements on CORE for efficiency.

   · LANMAN1: First modern version of the protocol. Long
filename support.

   · LANMAN2: Updates to Lanman1 protocol.

   · NT1: Current up to date version of the protocol. Used by
Windows NT. Known as CIFS.

   · SMB2: Re-implementation of the SMB protocol. Used by
Windows Vista and later versions of Windows. SMB2 has sub protocols
available.

   · SMB2_02: The earliest SMB2 version.

   · SMB2_10: Windows 7 SMB2 version.

   · SMB2_22: Early Windows 8 SMB2 version.

   · SMB2_24: Windows 8 beta SMB2 version.

By default SMB2 selects the SMB2_10 variant.

   · SMB3: The same as SMB2. Used by Windows 8. SMB3 has sub
protocols available.

   · SMB3_00: Windows 8 SMB3 version. (mostly the same as
SMB2_24)

   · SMB3_02: Windows 8.1 SMB3 version.

   · SMB3_10: early Windows 10 technical preview SMB3 version.

   · SMB3_11: Windows 10 technical preview SMB3 version (maybe
final).

[Bug 1693154] Re: ipa-client-install fails: kinit: Included profile directory could not be read while initializing Kerberos 5 library

2017-06-14 Thread Timo Aaltonen
fixed package uploaded to the queue

** Description changed:

- Ubuntu 17.04's freeipa-client has a regression (compared to 16.04 LTS)
- wrt. joining a FreeIPA kerberos server. I am running a server on
- 10.111.112.100 with a COCKPIT.LAN domain (from the "ipa-*" image on
- https://fedorapeople.org/groups/cockpit/images/), and realmd.service
- fails. Running ipa-client-install manually shows why:
+ [Impact]
+ ipa-client-install fails because it modifies /etc/krb5.conf to include
/etc/krb5.conf.d which doesn't exist, so kinit fails.
+
+ The (temporary) fix is to add /etc/krb5.conf.d directory to freeipa-
+ client.
+
+ [Test case]
+ Enroll an IPA client with ipa-client-install, it should pass.
+
+ [Regression potential]
+ None, this is a safe addition.

[Bug 1621396] Re: systemd-resolved crashed with SIGSEGV in dns_packet_is_reply_for()

2017-06-14 Thread Dimitri John Ledkov
There is now one crash report in proposed. I'm not sure if this is
because resolved was running, and has not been restarted yet. Or there
is still this genuine crash present in the proposed package.

_systemctl try-restart systemd-resolved.service || true

is called in the postinst, so the daemon should have been restarted.

[Bug 1417470] Re: PDF+Latex export creates multipage pdf, pages missing

2017-06-14 Thread Max Gaukler
I uploaded the patch to gitlab:
https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/merge_requests/13

I tested it using the .svg files in the attachment of the very first
comment of this report, and the TeX file in my attachment here.

** Attachment added: "TeX test file for including the examples of the very
first attachment in this report"

[Bug 1490349] Re: 15:10 and 16.04: bluetoothd reports "Not enough free handles to register service" at start

2017-06-14 Thread Daniel van Vugt
That sounds like an excellent workaround. It's probably not a fix
though. A fix would involve finding out why the config has confused
bluez.

Actually this sounds like an "old" bug that was fixed after 16.04 since newer
releases aren't being reported. If we could figure out what fixed it then we
could backport that fix to 16.04. You can search the code here:

[Bug 1694625] Re: KVM Guest loses network connectivity under heavy load

2017-06-14 Thread Barry Stokes
The VM has now had the problem recur again with the monitoring showing
that just before it stops functioning nothing appears to be
odd/excessive with the network usage.

As such, I may have mis-titled my bug as I had assumed it was heavy load
causing the issue.

One thing which struck me as slightly odd with it was that during the
time it was not responding it's showing a small number of packets being
received but nothing going out:

170613-210207: TX ens3: 1578 pkts/s RX ens3: 2690 pkts/s
170613-210217: TX ens3: 1090 pkts/s RX ens3: 1324 pkts/s

170613-210347: TX ens3: 0 pkts/s RX ens3: 12 pkts/s
170613-210357: TX ens3: 0 pkts/s RX ens3: 10 pkts/s
170613-210407: TX ens3: 0 pkts/s RX ens3: 11 pkts/s
170613-210417: TX ens3: 0 pkts/s RX ens3: 12 pkts/s
170613-210427: TX ens3: 0 pkts/s RX ens3: 13 pkts/s
170613-210437: TX ens3: 0 pkts/s RX ens3: 11 pkts/s

I will have to set up monitoring on the host side as well to see if it
reports the same.

[Bug 1697474] Re: Map of India is incorrect

2017-06-14 Thread Will Cooke
Internet suggests that all of India is UTC+5:30, and that Jammu and
Kashmir are on India Standard Time.

https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/india/srinagar

So, yes, it appears that the installer is setting the wrong timezone for
India if it's setting it to +5 and not +5:30. I've reached out to some
folk who know more about this and will report back.

[Bug 1697908] [NEW] i386 compilation hang with rocksdb (via ceph)

2017-06-14 Thread James Page
Public bug reported:

Ceph vendors a specific version of rocksdb, which in the Ceph 12.0.3
release results in a compilation hang on artful i386 only for one of the
objects; The same code using the Xenial gcc-5 compiler does not have
the same issue.

To reproduce (in a i386 chroot):

[Bug 1614936] Re: package python3-ldb-dev (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/pyldb-util.pc', which is also in package python-ldb-dev 2:

2017-06-14 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Python3-ldb-dev only exists in Xenial - >=Yakkety it got dropped again.
>=Zesty it is a sync again and it never existed in Debian.

This came in via:
ldb (2:1.1.24-1ubuntu3) xenial; urgency=medium
  * Build Python3 bindings.
[...]
 -- Matthias Klose Thu, 18 Feb 2016 18:17:39 +0100

There was no bug linked that explains the reasoning to add one in more Detail.
I followed how this was dropped again.
In zesty it became a sync for the minor fixes being in Debian now.
But the python3 things got dropped in:

ldb (2:1.1.26-1ubuntu3) yakkety; urgency=medium

  * Drop python3 packages again. No reverse dependencies, and

python3-talloc-dev is NBS.

 -- Martin Pitt Wed, 07 Sep 2016 08:43:24 +0200

While python3-talloc-dev exists in Xenial (and only there) it still has no
dependencies at all.
$ reverse-depends --release=xenial python3-ldb-dev
No reverse dependencies found

I'd say we might drop python3-ldb-dev from Xenial as well, but since it
is released it will never fully drop - unsure what to do about that.
Maybe make it an empty package?

Also Doko might have had very specific reasons to add it we just don't know.
So I subscribe him for his general expertise on what to do as well as his
specific expertise on this case and why it was added in the first place.

[Bug 1679898] Re: [Hyper-V] Ubuntu VM crash during Hyper-V backup or live migration after installing kernel 4.4.0-72

2017-06-14 Thread Ian Gordon
I can confirm that 4.4.0-66 does NOT crash and that 4.4.0-67 does indeed
crash with out of memory errors.

I think I should say that I tried doing a VSS backup with 4.4.0-66 5
times and it didn't crash on any of them but it did log worrying
messages (see attachment) which are very similar to what 4.4.0-67 gives.
