[Bug 1734817] [NEW] keyboard: alt-F doesn't open File menu
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 17.10, something seems to have gone wrong with the keyboard bindings for the application menus (File, Edit, View, Insert, etc). Specifically, the first menu item cannot be opened using its assigned shortcut alt+key combination. In LibreOffice 5.4.1.2, I can use alt-E, alt-V, alt-H, alt-A (for tAble). All of them work EXCEPT alt-F, which is the first one in the list. In Gedit 3.22.1 and Evince 3.26.0, it is the same. I can't use alt-F, but I can use all the others. Interestingly, in Pluma 1.18.2, everything is fine. Also, in Firefox 57.0 everything is fine. Also in Synaptic 0.84.2, which doesn't integrate correctly with Unity, alt-F and the others work fine. It seems that the 'modern' GNOME 3 applications are all failing, and then also LibreOffice as well, which maybe is using GTK3 just like GNOME3. Otherwise, I don't know. I think this bug is not the same as bug #790687. [Bug 1731522] Re: systemd-resolved sends SERVFAIL to host/nslookup for pod51041.outlook.com
The bug report here is likely inaccurate. I don't exactly know where the problem is. I did some tcpdumps for port 53 traffic. I see that if I did a ping, it requests for the A records of the domain name and indeed the IP addresses are getting returned. [Bug 1734808] [NEW] TortoiseHg 3.7.3 requires newer Mercurial package (3.8.n or higher)
Public bug reported: I am running on Xenial, and I am trying to use the TortoiseHg application installed via Synaptic. [Bug 1700827] Re: [MIR] pcp package
things which should be addressed: - Debian #805955, this is not fixed. You should not call dh_* in the binary-arch target without -a, working on the Arch: all packages as well. That should be done in the binary-indep target with dh_* -i calls. - python-six, python-json-pointer as build dependencies: Why no python3 equivalents? Looks like Python2 is used for the build by default, which is not wanted anymore for main. I'd suggest to replace those by their Python3 equivalents unconditionally. - the python3/python dependencies are wrong. PCP_PYTHON_PROG=python3 can be changed in the config file, invalidating the package dependencies. I think the python2 alternatives should be dropped and PCP_PYTHON_PROG shouldn't be a config option. pcp Depends: python3-pcp | python-pcp. pcp-export-pcp2influxdb: Depends on python-requests unconditionally, no python3-requests. I assume the packages are built to be "usable" with both Python2/Python3 but breaking package dependencies on the way. There is a reason that Debian and Ubuntu have separate Python2/Python3 stacks. That should be fixed. - pcp: gawk (build) dependency: looks like this one isn't needed (no gawk specifics), and awk is in essential. - lintian still reports over 200 warnings/errors, making it difficult to find relevant warnings. You can easily fix some of those. + Priority extra -> optional + unusual-interpreter: Why have /usr/bin/venv pmpython and not /usr/bin/pmpython? Everything else seems to be hardcoded for /usr/bin in the config file anyway? + pcp-testsuite: Please either fix (or override) the warnings for script-not-executable and unsual-interpreter. + fixing the above makes the remaining lintian warnings more visible. The manpage warnings might be minor (?), but what about the init.d-script-does-not-source-init-functions warnings? so please fix at least the binary-indep/binary-arch targets, and the python/python3 dependency mess. ** Changed in: pcp (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1700827 Title: [MIR] pcp package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pcp/+bug/1700827/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1733991] Re: ctrl + super + w is too eager to destroy windows
Khurshid, to be clear, the CTRL and the W were the intentional keys, the Windows (aka Super) key was the complete accident that turned this into a real annoyance. Instead of one word being deleted, entire windows are removed. (The irony of course is thanks to mosh+tmux, the word was still there once I reconnected to that computer.) If you hold down the Windows (Super) key in Unity, you'll see a handy menu of shortcut keys, where Super + W is used in four different items. If suddenly only one of them is supposed to work, it'd be nice to amend the menu of shortcut keys, though that'd probably be best served by a different bug. [Bug 1664931] Fix merged to nova (master)
Reviewed: https://review.openstack.org/521186 Committed: https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/nova/commit/?id=f7c688b8ef88a7390f5b09719a2b3e80368438c0 Submitter: Zuul Branch:master commit f7c688b8ef88a7390f5b09719a2b3e80368438c0 Author: Dan Smith Date: Fri Nov 17 12:27:34 2017 -0800 Refined fix for validating image on rebuild This aims to fix the issue described in bug 1664931 where a rebuild fails to validate the existing host with the scheduler when a new image is provided. The previous attempt to do this could cause rebuilds to fail unnecessarily because we ran _all_ of the filters during a rebuild, which could cause usage/resource filters to prevent an otherwise valid rebuild from succeeding. This aims to classify filters as useful for rebuild or not, and only apply the former during a rebuild scheduler check. We do this by using an internal scheduler hint, indicating our intent. This should (a) filter out all hosts other than the one we're running on and (b) be detectable by the filtering infrastructure as an internally-generated scheduling request in order to trigger the correct filtering behavior. Ubuntu bugs no longer refer to hardware database IDs as there is no longer ANY method in Ubuntu so submit them, no endpoint on LP to receive them, and no database front end to publicly display them. The data submitted way back then remains tied to the user's LP account and that is as far as that data will go. [Bug 1734791] [NEW] gnome-keyring doesn't start gnome-keyring-ssh services
Public bug reported: Looking at the gnome-keyring packages in 17.10, I see the following files, which should be auto-starting the gnome-keyring ssh agent service: /usr/lib/systemd/user/gnome-keyring-ssh.service /usr/lib/systemd/user/graphical-session-pre.target.wants/gnome-keyring-ssh.service As well, I seem to have a file in ~/.config/autostart/gnome-keyring- ssh.desktop which should also start gnome-keyring-daemon with the --components=ssh option. However, in my actual GNOME session on Wayland, gnome-keyring-daemon is running with the following options: "/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --daemonize --login" and there are no SSH-AGENT related env vars set, and common ssh commands like ssh-add do not work. [Bug 1638695] Re: Python 2.7.12 performance regression
I don't feel like the change from fstack-protector-strong to fstack-protector should be made. The performance testing results in the spreadsheet don't suggest that the change positively impacts performance in a meaningful way. fstack-protector-strong slightly outperforms fstack-protector in some situations and slightly under performs in others, suggesting that the difference is within the noise threshold. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read 'How to report bugs effectively' http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
