[Bug 1385611] Re: Laptop charger keeps disconnecting then re-connecting

2018-01-13 Thread Ali Devrim OĞUZ
My problem is similar. I haven't had this issue before. The charger
keeps disconnecting and reconnecting at random intervals when the
battery is full (and makes this annoying clicking noise, the sound of
plugging a socket into a wall). This doesn't happen when the battery is
charging and pc runs perfectly with the battery completely removed. It
also doesn't happen in Windows 10. My system is Ubuntu 17.10 (x64)
kernel: 4.13.0-25-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jan 8 21:14:41 UTC 2018
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I am pretty much certain that my charger is working correctly.

I'm not sure this problem is also related with the kde-workspace
(Ubuntu) package. My machine runs on Unity 8.

The lshw output of my system(This is while battery removed):

[Bug 1385611] Re: Laptop charger keeps disconnecting then re-connecting

2018-01-13 Thread Ali Devrim OĞUZ
** Description changed:

Since upgrading my Samsung 540U4E-K01AU to Kubuntu 14.04 the battery
charger keeps connecting and disconnecting as i change from application
to application or another tab. It doesn't drop out if im not interacting
with the laptop. I have tested the charger with a multi meter and the
charger is physically working correctly. I didnt have this issue with
Kubuntu 12.04, 13.04 or 13.10. If i boot from my tails live cd it seems
  to work fine.

[Bug 1743183] [NEW] Mouse left button not being noitced when clicked under Wayland - works under x11

2018-01-13 Thread Mark Rogers
Public bug reported:

Connected other mice, unplugging/rebooting/replugging in mouse has no
affect.

However booting into X11 from the login screen fixes the mouse issue! If
I try to login with Wayland then the problem reemerges.

Ive even enabled "Pre-Release Updates and downloaded all the updated
files in the hope of fixing the issue - it didnt.

So HELP!

Even though I have a working system I would prefer to be working under
Wayland.

Cheers in advance

[Bug 1726519] Re: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at isci_task_abort_task

2018-01-13 Thread Jamie Baxter
Hi Joseph,

I know I'm new to this thread (took a while to find a match to the
symptom), but I've been experiencing this issue as well (first on
Manjaro, now on Xubuntu, both give problems with 4.13 but are fine in
4.9/4.10). Just installed your test kernel (lp1742630) to my Xubu16.04
installation. The panic is gone, but so is the offending SAS controller
according to the dmesg output.

Attaching the dmesg (and some system info if needed) outputs, but if you
need additional information just say the word.

** Attachment added: "4.10, 4.13, lp1742630 dmesg outputs and lspci dump"

I had the same issue.

I found

first and followed the directions there. It resolved my problem.

[Bug 1730657] Re: systemd don't find userservice- and usertimer-files

2018-01-13 Thread darkrain42
I'm not sure what (else) changed between 17.04 and 17.10, but this seems
to be an ordering issue between `systemd --user` and ecryptfs mounting
the decrypted $HOME.

Reordering pam_ecryptfs to occur before pam_systemd in /etc/pam.d
/common-session appears to address the issue for me. (Note that I
_think_ the order is unchanged between 17.04 and 17.10.)

I independently came to the same conclusion as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ecryptfs/+bug/1734290, which was to assign a
higher priority (e.g. 1) for ecryptfs's pam-config, which seems to be
sufficient.

[Bug 1661876] Re: [Asus UX360UA] battery status in unity-panel is not changing when battery is being charged

2018-01-13 Thread tjiagoM
Ok, I doubt that I accidentally changed it, but we never know, thanks
for sorting this out.

By the way, just to be noted down, I think the problem was solved just
in the kernel you asked me to try. I have switched back to kernel 4.14,
and I just noticed that although I have 100% in my battery and laptop is
connected to electricity, the charging symbol doesn't show up.

(Strange) output of `acpitool -a -b`:
  Battery #1 : Discharging, 100.0%
  AC adapter : online

And output of `gsettings get com.canonical.indicator.power icon-policy`:
'present'

(Just to be written down what were the differences in the output to my current
kernel)

[Bug 1743162] [NEW] Nvidia Graphics Debugger does not work with packaged drivers

2018-01-13 Thread Giuseppe D'Angelo
Public bug reported:

Launching any application in the Nvidia Linux Graphics Debugger does not
work with the Ubuntu packaged drivers, but it works by manually
installing the Nvidia upstream drivers (same version). A packaging issue
is the likely issue of this.

Steps to reproduce:

1) install LGD from https://developer.nvidia.com/linux-graphics-debugger
2) launch it, against x64, connect to localhost, click on the Launch tab and
click on the "Install debugger" button
3) try to launch any OpenGL application under
LD_PRELOAD=~/.tgd/libs/libNvidia_gfx_debugger.so . For instance:

$ LD_PRELOAD=~/.tgd/libs/libNvidia_gfx_debugger.so glxgears
LGD: Starting GTI initialization...
LGD: GLX vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
LGD: Graphics interception initialized
Xlib: extension "NV-GLX" missing on display ":0".
Error: glXCreateContext failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

[Bug 1743159] [NEW] package am-utils 6.2+rc20110530-3.2ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2018-01-13 Thread Norm Tredo
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I am trying to set up a server for home use. Once fully installed, I'd
like to develop a home website to the internet using WIX. I have an UBUNTU PC,
and downloaded apache2 software. I have been experiencing difficulties
installing utilities with it. I configured UFW for temporary firewall settings.
Did not set up APF firewall. At first, had trouble with FQDN, but was able to
configure it without the .com part. I keep getting an error message while
installing SQL and PHP about an am-utils problem. There are also two files that
cannot be found, a map and a "y" file that I can't remember now what it is. How
should I proceed?

2018-01-13 Thread db
I confirm this with 4.13.0-26. Does not occur after reversion to
4.10.0-42 or earlier kernels.

I have not tested the new 390 series driver. 387.26 + 4.10.0-42
combination works.

[Bug 1743154] [NEW] sane-dll (5) man page missing

2018-01-13 Thread jimav
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 17.10, with packages "sane" and "libsane1" installed,

   man sane-dll
   man 5 sane-dll

say "No manual entry for sane-dll".

This man page is the SEE ALSO list in the sane(7) man page and mentioned
on the Internet.

Note: When trying to install libsane, apt-get substitutes "libsane1" for
some reason:

# apt-get install libsane
Note, selecting 'libsane1' instead of 'libsane'
libsane1 is already the newest version (1.0.27-1~experimental2ubuntu2.1).

[Bug 1720930] Re: wlp3s0: failed to remove key (1, ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff) from hardware (-22)

2018-01-13 Thread Genki Sky
I believe this issue is the same as the one I posted on the kernel
bugzilla at https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198357 . I found
the commit that first causes the symptom, but it's not necessarily to
blame... I mention two possible fixes but there's some missing
information before it's clear to me which one is the best. The assignee
was changed to linuxw...@intel.com the day that I posted it, but it has
received no updates since then.

[Bug 1663645] Re: Installation hangs at 66% "Installing GRUB boot loader"

2018-01-13 Thread Bjelleklang
Same as Andy. No fancy setup; one disk with a Win 10 install, one for
Xubuntu 17.10 from minimal CD containing /, and a separate disk with
/home from the previous install. Also had issues with the 4.13.0.25
kernel and initramfs not behaving (messing up previously installed
kernels), which led to reinstall.
