[Bug 1384532] Re: Unable to set AppArmor profile [...] no such file or directory
Hi, sorry for chiming in so late, but I haven't seen this issue before - the last update changed that. Special chars as reported in comment #26 and comment #15 are an issue, but most of them are fixed or at a better error message now. First of all since Ubuntu 17.10 (~=UCA-Pike) all files in generated rules are in quotes which formerly they were not - that allows for some chars like spaces. Further some other chars are just plain forbidden and would break the rule - these are mostly apparmor wilcards so these are now rejected since v3.10.0 by a150b86c instead of later failing when loading the profile. That said it is hard for me to track details of the old issue, but with a recent Ubuntu this should be all fixed. With space a rule will now look as: "/var/lib/uvtool/libvirt/images/a space does not hurt.qcow" rwk, and work just fine. But the actual issue - at least with tolerable special chars is fixed in the latter releases. And the apparmor wildcards do not randomly fail, or work or be a security issue - instead they always fail now. I have to admit the message is still the old misleading one in the remaining failing cases. I spawned bug 1767934 for this - but at low prio. Per above I'd set the bug fix releases at least for the latter releases. Given the long time this bug slumbers before a person is hit by it again and the fact that a simple file rename gets you around makes me not think of SRUs for this atm. So I'll set won't fix for pre-Artful, but hey - discussions welcome. ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released ** Also affects: libvirt (Ubuntu Artful) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: libvirt (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: High Status: Fix Released ** Also affects: libvirt (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu Artful) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: High => Medium ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu Artful) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1384532 Title: Unable to set AppArmor profile [...] no such file or directory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1384532/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1767930] [NEW] ASUS T300F Touchpad only works sometimes and no pertinent setting under Mouse & Touchpad
Public bug reported: My laptop is a 2 in 1 model so I don't know if it's because Linux kernel still can't fully support this kind of device or some other reason but I really want to use Ubuntu as my study system because I am a computer science student and the moment I had the current Ubuntu 16.04(few months ago) installed I already fell in love with it even it's so buggy on my device. I am also running Ubuntu in a dual boot mode but another system was installed on another hard drive and that system is Windows 10 but everything works fine over there. I also tried the latest released distribution Ubuntu 18.04 but there's even more problems over there, 1) the desktop was rotated abnormally, 2) the touchpad not working on that either. And I run 18.04 in a live mode but I don't think this matter. I have also tried Debian 9, also in live mode. And there are same question occurred just like when I tried Ubuntu 18.04. So based on my these two experiments on Ubuntu and Debian, I think it could be the kernel's compatibility problem with my device that cause the touchpad not working and no setting. As for the rotate abnormally problem only happened on Ubuntu 18.04 and Debian 9, both of which are using Gnome as desktop so there might have something to be improved in Gnome desktop to support my device. And I think it could be a common issue for 2-in-1 device user, which could be a small percentage of device that runs Linux so there's fewer issues were reported. Please, I really want to use this system to help me explore the computer science world fully. I know it will because I learned a lot during the process of getting the current Ubuntu installed in my device and in a dual boot mode. I really think the more I use it, the more I can understand how this mysterious world works behind the screen. Thanks in advance. And as a computer science student myself, I would love to know if there's anything I can do to get the kernel to support my device even I am just a newbie in this field. Thanks for reading, cheers. [Bug 1758037] Re: LTC Test- Ubuntu18.04: Starting the guest with network filter defined will fail with "cause is unknown".
Ok, together we found a fix for this which now is integrated upstream. commit ce5aebeacd10a1c15cb3ee46a59c8b5ff235589e Author: Laine StumpDate: Wed Apr 25 17:12:03 2018 -0400 nwfilter: increase pcap buffer size to be compatible with TPACKET_V3 Bionic+1 is not yet open, so atm it is a bit complex for a few days to push fixes. Furthermore since this never worked I'm not quite sure we want/need to SRU it back to all releases - at least it can't be urgent IMHO. I'd ask for the reporters opinion for it, my plan would be to: 1. wait until 18.10 release opened the Archive 2. fix in 18.10 3. SRU to 18.04, 17.10, 16.04 Would that be ok for you? ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758037 Title: LTC Test- Ubuntu18.04: Starting the guest with network filter defined will fail with "cause is unknown". I'd like to confirm that I observed this same problem when upgrading from 17.10 to 18.04. [Bug 1767912] Re: Mouse Keys enabled/enables during session when setting shows disabled
** Description changed: After starting a session, the numpad behaves as if Mouse Keys is enabled. Going to Settings > Universal Access > Mouse Keys shows that the feature is disabled. To disable Mouse Keys, the setting must be enabled first, then disabled. Alternatively, the following commands must be used in terminal: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.a11y.keyboard mousekeys-enable true gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.a11y.keyboard mousekeys-enable false These settings will only persist for the session. It has been observed that the function seemingly enables itself during a session, with no known trigger. At the same time, the num lock or shift + num lock hotkey does not function. Whether that is a separate bug is another story, but neither key combination results in the accidental or purposeful activation or deactivation of Mouse Keys. Problem observed in Ubuntu 18.04. gsettings-desktop-schemas version 3.28.0-1ubuntu1. Has been previously observed in 17.10 and 16.04. Current temporary workaround is to add the two commands above into a script to run on startup. This does not solve inadvertent activations later on, however. + EDIT: Mouse Keys observed to enable itself when I type "xset led on" + into terminal to enable keyboard backlight. + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.28.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-20.21-generic 4.15.17 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-20-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Apr 30 06:36:09 2018 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-control-center InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-04-28 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767912 Title: Mouse Keys enabled/enables during session when setting shows disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1767912/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1767912] [NEW] Mouse Keys enabled/enables during session when setting shows disabled
Public bug reported: After starting a session, the numpad behaves as if Mouse Keys is enabled. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1759300 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1759300 The GUI way of applying that is: gnome-tweaks > Keyboard & Mouse > Touchpad > Mouse Click Emulation = Area But that is certainly not adequately discoverable. You have to install 'gnome-tweaks' too. I think the right solution is to get the above setting moved into gnome- control-center where people can find it. I think someone might have logged that feature request already but I can't find it right now. P.S. I disagree with your suggested fix. Most Dell/Lenovos use clickpads these days, just like Apple. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1759300 touchpad right click -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767383 Title: touchpad right+click not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libinput/+bug/1767383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
