You also said this only applies to the full 32bit stack for you (32bit host + guest) is that correct? Manfred Steiner: 1) What is "Beamer"? Is this a program available from the Ubuntu repositories, a piece of hardware, etc.? 2) To clarify the table in #10, it appears the only part that isn't as expected is how after configuring the Internal LCD to be off and VGA to be active, you restart, and at the login screen the Internal LCD is turned on, while the external VGA is not displaying. [Bug 1767594] Re: Ubuntu-18.04 Installation/Upgrade freezes/does not work.
Hi I found work around from the link below https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2349782 1. When you see the loader to "Install Ubuntu" etc ... press "e" and edit a line: Replace "quiet splash" to "nomodeset" and press F10 to boot. Then after the installation is complete, you will have to reboot. 2. This time you will now encounter the GRUB. Again, press "e" and edit a line: In the line that starts with "linux", add "nouveau.modeset=0" at the end of that line. Your Linux should now boot. P.S. Mark the thread as solved if this solves the issue 3. After this, you need to install the nvidia drivers. Reboot. And then it's done. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767594 Title: Ubuntu-18.04 Installation/Upgrade freezes/does not work. [Bug 1769980] Re: Intel WiFi Linux driver update for ETSI 5GHz Adaptivity Requirement
** Description changed: Intel wireless driver and firmware require updates in order to meet the new ETSI regulation [1] for OEM machines shipped from factories. Intel provided us the following information for what are required to update: 1. Kernel driver: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10322121/ https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10312731/ https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10312735/ https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10312733/ - 7260, 7265, 7265D and 3168 NICs, 4.15 plus above driver patches - 8000 series requires 4.16. - 9000 series requires 4.17. 2. linux-firmware Requires latest versions from linux-firmware.git 3. wireless-regdb update [1] http://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_en/301800_301899/301893/02.01.01_60/en_301893v020101p.pdf --- == SRU Justification for linux-firmware == [Impact] Intel released these firmware updates to support the new ETSI 5GHz Adaptivity Requirement, OEM has to meet it in order to ship. [Test Case] Check dmesg to confirm the correct firmware is loaded, make sure the revision is correct, and check wifi can functions properly. [Regression Potential] It is possible that there is regression introduced by Intel's firmware, so should make sure wifi still works properly after the new firmware is used. We have verified the new firmwares of 7260 and 7265D on 4.4 and 4.15 kernels. The 8000 and 9000 series firmwares have newer API versions and will need to confirm with subsequent driver changes. - - == SRU Justification for crda == - [Impact] - We need crda to include Seth Forshee's public key to support wireless-regdb's new format. - - [Test Case] - Check the key is installed at /lib/crda/pubkeys/sforshee.key.pub.pem. - - [Regression Potential] - As this is a new file, no regression should happen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769980 Title: Intel WiFi Linux driver update for ETSI 5GHz Adaptivity Requirement To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1769980/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Merge-o-matic didn't do it due to the Ubuntu delta but fortunately this delta was adopted by Debian with Unbound 1.7.1-1. Should I open a new LP to ask for that "force" sync? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1773720 Title: CVE-2017-15105 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unbound/+bug/1773720/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1773719] [NEW] live server depends on arguably buggy systemd-networkd behaviour to avoid slow boot
Public bug reported: [Impact] If there default network configuration does not actually get a server online, the live server installer only avoids a long delay by dint of relying on some dubious behaviour of networkd: if all interfaces are marked optional: true, systemd-networkd-wait-online does not wait. If we want to fix this bug so that systemd-networkd-wait-online.service means the machine is actually online, then the live server installers boot will be slow. The fix, already present in cosmic, is to just symlink systemd-networkd- wait-online to /bin/true. [Test plan] Boot the live server installer in a VM with no NICs, or with nics that do not have an answering dhcp. [Regression potential] As the boot behaviour is not changed (i.e. boot is not delayed even if there is no network) there should be no subtle regressions once the basic bits have been verified to work. ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Also affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1773719 Title: live server depends on arguably buggy systemd-networkd behaviour to avoid slow boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd-rootfs/+bug/1773719/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1773597] Re: USB flash drive won't mount
After a reboot, inserted encrypted USB flash drive (32G Lexar). Waited about 15 minutes and the request for the password was displayed. I entered the password, but nothing happened. Waited five minutes - then rebooted with the drive still inserted. It was not recognized (by Nautilus) upon completion of the reboot. Removed and inserted and it was eventually recognized, but no window asking for a password showed until I opened the "file cabinet" and clicked on the drive listed on the left. A request for password then appeared. I entered the password and was able to open the drive. However after about ten minutes, I could not open any files - a lock icon appeared on the file icon. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your bug report is missing crash details. In order to debug a crash we will need a crash report. To create one, please follow these steps: 1. If you are not running a future development release of Ubuntu then apply the workaround from bug 994921. 2. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport. 3. If the crash is in Xorg then uncomment this option from /etc/gdm3/custom.conf: # Additionally lets the X server dump core if it crashes #Enable=true 4. Reboot. 5. Reproduce the crash. 6. Look in /var/crash for crash files and when found, run: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/YOURFILE.crash 7. Add a comment here telling us the ID of the new bug that was created in step 6. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments, and doing so is also a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1773665 Title: gdm-x-session crash: glamor_composite_largepixmap_region: Assertion `0' failed.
